I just think SO much is wrong with this and I bet the officer was thinking something was off from the get go.

One is is WAY too calm. I know we can't know how people really react, but let's say he didn't do it. He arrives home and finds them both shot like that and he knows it has to have happened recently because he was only gone for an hour. How are they not worried about someone else being there with a gun? He goes to the house to get a gun, but is he not concerned someone that did this could be in the house with a gun or on the property? He's talking about the boat crash and not crying, but sounding like he's crying sorta.

It would be a colossal mistake for the defense to put AM up on the stand. I don't think they're going to do it. The state has not proven this case beyond a reasonable doubt. If he testifies, state will basically hammer him for being a fraud/liar such that anything he says on the stand can not be believed. ["Why should the jury believe anything you say? You've lied to everyone you know for 10 years, haven't you? But now you want to the jury to believe you're telling the truth?"] If he gets up there and tries to appear sympathetic and play victim, that will be worse at this point. There is no point in putting him up there. Since the jurors are not taking notes, by the time the defense finishes their case in chief, the jurors will have forgotten the state's case. There is no way this jury will agree on a verdict. Hung jury at best! JMO.

L&C have been zooming in on M family.

Horrifying. It’s almost like a hesitation shot - hoping he would go down without having to make it too messy. Sickening.

So the first shot didn't kill PM..... so he probably knew who shot him, knew it was his own father....

(Why is AM generating anticipatory strife? So far, the pathologist testimony is fairly sterile. His display looks more like guilt than grief though so maybe his body is telling on him.

But why is he drooling? Abundant kleenex. To wipe his MOUTH! What? Huh?)

jmo
Maybe he'll conveniently throw up...

They are allowed to search publicly available information (including social media) to identify a potential or seated juror's mindset and behaviors. That is 100% legal. I learned that after watching the most bizarre and heartbreaking verdict a few years ago. Many people attributed that verdict to very effective jury screening.

I am also worried about corruption in this case. I would expect nothing less from a person who manipulates constantly behind the scenes, and sacrifices every principle (and everyone in their splash zone!) to get what they want.

Last October, after receiving a postcard jury summons in the mail instructing me where/when to log in for compliance, I was surprised at how invasive the online questionnaire had become compared to the "old days" (i.e.,pre-internet)!

I agree, there was plenty of lead time for both the prosecution and defense to scrub the internet for info about me prior to seating the jury.

Man, look at the seething anger in Alex's face. That's not sorrow or sadness. That is 100% pure RAGE!

AM is snotting profusely while shaking his head no.

Glasses off. Rocking.

The pathologist is still working off white posterboard.

The real graphics IMO are in his head.

And it's ugly.

IIRC, the judge decided they could take notes and told the jurors that at the beginning of the trial, and he even was on video early on (a few days in) asking them if they wanted pad and pencil to take notes, and they all declined. MOO

Fascinating. I've only been on two juries and both times, I was the only one taking notes. One person even complained to the Bailiff that I was taking notes, and was reminded by the Bailiff that we had all be offered a notepad and pen. I can't help but take notes (or cut and paste, ha) in almost any situation.

OTOH, I guess that a "jury of peers" would all be people with ordinary knowledge of human biology (and this testimony is going way over their heads - there are such easier ways of explaining this stuff). And the prosecution should have been prepared to ask questions to get the witness to explain in a simplified and orderly fashion.

I doubt that any of what was said in court this morning is going to be remembered or calculated into decision-making.

IMO.
