This is horrifying...

I just saw the body cam video of AM asking if they're dead, ridiculous..can't or can imagine what the police thought of that at the time. I bet they were right off looking at him as suspect anyway per he's there even tho all clean.
I think this is the lawyer in him not wanting to seem like he already knew they were dead because it might draw suspicion to him. He was over thinking how he should act or react and then it came out looking very much not natural.

This testimony is so incredibly sad and real ….

PM injured after the first shot was turning to face his killer when shot again. It's likely he saw his killer's face before his brain was literally blown out of his head. That's what I'm getting from this testimony...it's shattering to my mind it was his father's face he saw. JMO

Man, look at the seething anger in Alex's face. That's not sorrow or sadness. That is 100% pure RAGE!
I suspect you're right. Rage. That people don't understand why he did what (IMO he thinks) he had to do.

I feel for the jury. They'll never be able to unsee these photos.

AM could have plead guilty as charged and spared everyone. He chose this.

why wouldn't they just step out?
They absolutely did not have to sit through this. When my Mother was murdered, I asked the Prosecutor to let me know ahead when the Coroner was going to testify, and I left before he got on the stand. Reality is more gruesome than the imagination in many cases.

They had to enter it. If they didn't, the defense would and would make the state look like they were trying to hide it.
Is this the t shirt we see in the body cam videos that night when the first officer arrived? If so it would not have human blood on it. The shirt he had on prior to that would have blood on it. Can't remember what Ms Shelly said he had on. Was it the shirt he had on with the long pants, that's MIA?? So todays witness would not hurt the state necessarily would it????

I am so deeply saddened to hear this news about your mom. My sincere condolences to you and to your family.

First, I'm so sorry for your loss and the trauma you must have had to go through during the trial.

Second, I don't understand why BM would sit there hearing gruesome details described about injuries and autopsy photos of his brother and his mother. Horrific.

Did anybody make out AM's shoes on his feet? I'm not necessarily convinced the shoes collected in evidence are the same.

Very important

Forensic pathologist just testified Paul’s hands were not up- when he was shot. That backs up prosecutors opening statement, asserting Paul did not have any defensive wounds, “as if they did not see the attack coming from their attacker”.

Court is back after a short break.

The state calls its 51st witness, MUSC pathologist Dr. Ellen Riemer.

Riemer conducted the autopsies of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh.

Riemer is walking the jury through the shotgun wounds Paul Murdaugh suffered. Using a pair of black and red markers to label entry/exit wounds.

I've seen some reporting on this elsewhere, but there is a chance Alex Murdaugh will testify at this trial. It's not a guarantee. If so, he would be the defense's last witness, meant to explain things no other witness could possibly explain. A big risk to put him on the stand.

The last I heard (this morning), my sense was that no decision had been made. Perhaps that has changed already. It could also easily change again before the time comes.

Riemer comes off as someone who really loves her job. She's bright and energetic even as she explains graphic wounds. Reminds me of Mrs. Kreamer, my eighth grade Algebra 1 teacher, teaching fractions.

Riemer explains that Paul could have remained standing after the first shotgun blast to his chest. But the second shot blew his brain out of the back of his head, leaving only the brain stem left inside the skull.

The fact that Paul's face remained intact tells you he was facing his shooter, Riemer testifies.

Riemer is showing the jury graphic images of Paul's body. Thankfully, we are not seeing them as well. "It's horrible, I know," Riemer tells the jury.

Judge Newman just excused the jury for a break.

Alex Murdaugh is deeply distraught, crying and fidgeting in his seat.

Totally agree. He is projecting more rage today IMHO.
