Holy buckets -- not that MM's heartbreak was funny but you have to love she never let AM forget what allegedly happened in 2007.

No doubt AM sure made MM pay for (constantly) bringing it up. o_O
Bingo! I mean BAM!!!

Another thought is if he was acting sneaky with money or for some reason acting off due to CFO being on his butt about something not adding up and if he was planning the murders for a while maybe Maggie picked up on his sneaky behavior and it reminded her of when he was cheating so she felt insecure and brought it up. Deceit is deceit. So if he had been recently acting deceitful and she picked up on it, she maybe threw in the cheating questions because she sensed something was off.

I don’t see how an affair that happened 15 years back pertains to the murders, especially since they have stayed together since.
IMO, I think the prosecutor wants to show how an allegation of infidelity from 15 years ago was still a topic in MM's sacred circle because MM remained suspicious of AM ever since.

Especially if the defense is still selling how AM hid his pill detection from all including his wife.

In other words, just like the affair, the prosecution is saying the couple was so close she didn't know. All to paint estrangement behind closed doors where MM was expendable to AM. MOO

ETA: After recess -- MP testified that between mother and son, PM was intent on sniffing out any pill stash AM had in the house. AM's pill abuse not a secret from MM/PM.

We just had a murder conviction in MN, husband staged a "break in", shot and killed his wife, grazed his own leg. Trial was long in coming.... found guilty. Motive: didn't want wife to know house was in foreclosure.

It's possible Alec had two motives -- anger at Paul bc the lawsuit exposed him -- and desperation with Maggie -- didn't want Maggie to know about his fraud, failure and firing.

Made me queasy to hear Maggie's sister describe how Alec said neither Maggie nor Paul suffered at death. We know they did. And so does Alec.

I just mapped Lexington, SC to Walterboro, SC. It's only 1 hr & 45 minutes. Time for a field trip for Eddie. Come on Judge!
Where should I meet you? :)

Newman rules that Proctor cannot testify about the affair allegations, as those are too remote and confusing.
Jury is brought back in.

I agree. I also think the alleged convo about MM saying "AM was acting fishy" was most likely between MM and MP.

Prosecution has never skated on thin ice.
They've been target!
lol ok.

They have a circumstantial case and want everything in that will jeopardize the final results. Half of this stuff have nothing to do with the murders. It puts it all on thin ice for an appeal.

The defense is responsible for anything the witness brings up through their own questioning. Too bad, so sad. Never ask a question you don’t know the answer to.
If the defense would shut up about what a great awesome guy Alex, who steals from orphans, is, the prosecution wouldn’t have to counter with the truth.
The prosecution is countering because they have nothing but a circumstantial case.

Now they want to bring in an affair from 15 years ago? LOL what's next? The pile of dog mess Alex might have stepped in 20 years ago?

Criminy -- if DH gets up there and says AM was trying to spare MP (and MM's extended family) any hurt feelings of knowing the truth, I'm going to lose it!

ETA: Whew --relief-- no redirect by the defense!

This prosecution is a complete joke at this point! This witness' cross was damanging to the state's case and this roadside incident and pill stuff is just a deflection. They are so desperate that they wanted to introduce a 15 year old affair! I can't believe the judge allowed this. We have strayed so far from the elements of the murder charge.

Haha that defense was quick to get her off the stand now weren't they? What's the matter? Don't want to open any more doors?

And that's why an appeal will be more than likely than not.
