The last couple days has been some of the wildest trial watching I've ever done in my life.

Marian Proctor's testimony was crushing. AM said to her, "whoever did this had planned it for a long time."

And then today... the roadside shooting... wow, just wow.

I really hope the jury sees who this man is. I am convinced we don't know the half of his crimes. I want to know what he had on Boulware, or what he did for Boulware, that made Boulware sign over 1700 acres of land. How did Alex get broad POA over Boulware at the end of his life?

Lots of bodies under AM's bus and just another clear example how people were expendable to him.
Yes, his selective memory is quite revealing.he can always recall things in specific detail about non-critically important issues. But the ones that are relevant, he goes dumb. Pretty transparent though, I think.

I think AM was trying to frame AC from the boat crash with that composite sketch of the "roadside assassin"

That sketch looked more like Mallory Beach’s dad to me. Eeek

I just finished watching the trial because I was way behind.
What a great witness the crime scene reconstruction guy was. He answered so many questions I had.
As far as the roadside shooting, the statement that stands out to me is Alex says specifically he did not owe any drug dealers any money, thus destroying yet another one of the defense’s pet theories.
I’m startingto think that there is little difference between the Moselle murders and the roadside shooting. In both, Alex had been confronted with his financial schemes and was fearing he would be found out as a thief and drug addict. He would go to jail and lose everything. He decided to kill himself and his family but couldn’t kill himself at Moselle. Everything amazingly improved for him after the murders until Sept when he is confronted again. His thought again is to kill himself, but since he failed to do it, he gets someone else to try, and they fail too.

Alex Murdaugh is a hunter. Unless he is the joke of all the hunters, he could have dropped them both with one shot each. And he could have shot them from 100 yards away with one shot each. He didn't have to be within feet of them or walk over for a kill shot to Maggi's head. No need for an up close and personal ambush.

Seriously, this is amateur shooting and the second shot to Paul being at such an angle is because the shooter fell down from the kick because he/she had no experience with shotguns. Paul heard his mom getting shot and tried to make it to her and shooter, splayed on ground, blasts again.

The second shooter had Maggi, but was not a great shot either. In fact, a truly poor shot. Shooting low, not experienced in shooting moving game. Unlike Alex.

Who kills the family of those who owe them money? Cartels.

Long guns disappear how? Stolen. Traded. Given.

JMHO but this is the scenario Eddie creates. Reasonable doubt.

Was it not stated it took AM a couple hours to come up with that composite?

I wondered if if was mixture of the boys on the boat.

The introduction of his failed 'suicide' mission just makes it look like AM wanted people to believe that the 'hit man/men' of MM and PM were out to finish the job they had started with MM and PM. I don't believe Cousin Eddie was 'hired' to actually kill but only maim AM. That way AM gets to live but people would really believe that MM and PM weren't the only family members meant to be killed and that it was a vengeance killing and attempt and 'poor AM' survived by the grace of God. AM would be cleared, cases would be dropped for 'poor AM' (he's suffered enough after losing his family). I don't think AM ever thought he would be considered a suspect after his wife and son were killed. AM had to quickly come up with a reason for his failed Cousin Eddie mission once LE caught on to him so AM again tried to look like a poor victim by saying he was taking his own life in order to give money to his only surviving son. IMO. He's so desperately transparent and pathetic. I feel nothing but contempt for AM. Every story glorifies AM and is self serving. MOO.
Yip! And it doesn't help he threw HIS knife to slash the tire across into the bushes...
L!!!

The defense was so stilted and slow. I don't know how the jury didn't fall asleep. Defense knew what was coming and should have had everything prepared. Total fail, IMO. The prosecution didn't even need to use rude distraction techniques. MOO.
How many times have we seen this during the trail?? I love the shot of DH trying to stay awake and his head is bobbing.
Lol!!

When DH is sitting at the defense table with his glasses on and looking down at notes/phone/etc., he's a dead ringer for Mr. Magoo.

It occurred to me that he might be trying to frame Mark Tinsley, there's a resemblance there, too.

Did the hospital testify today? Did I miss that? Darn!
Nobody from hospital testified. I got it from here: (and I just noticed it said purported records so do with that what you will)

AM definitely had a banker who helped him.

The bank is another whole thing that will be a large part of the financial trials. He had partners in crime in key places.

  • #596
Well, one of AM's banking buddies was just convicted on conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, etc. (Jury convicts ex-banker Russell Laffitte on 6 financial charges)

So, are other banks and banking relationships that AM had similar?

MOO.
There had to be someone on the inside at Bank of America, where the two (2) Fake Forge accounts were located. He otherwise would have had to have an EIN. Banks will not open an account without one. MOO.

So the cartel shows up at Moselle without their own guns?

If he wanted to die so Buster could get life insurance money...I wanna see the insurance policy and I want to know why he called 911 if he wanted to die.
I'm calling BS on that.

I know a lawyer that had a drink called a "cocktail " whiskey and pills. Did it all the time and function perfect.

When being asked what time he went to the office the morning of June 7, I recall AM saying something to the effect of ...." not really early as I was recovering from the weekend, you know?". When asked what he did on the weekend he said they went to a ballgame. That's all he could come up with (or was willing to come up with). What did he do all weekend? Did he socialize with other people? Or did he just always go in late (as his assistant said) and he didn't want to admit it?
