I know we can't say for sure what we would do in a crisis, but calling my sons friend is the least of my worries. I feel like calling Maggie's sister/BIL, Alex's brother and/or Buster or calling someone to go to Buster to tell him would be just about the end of what I feel is normal. Then those people can notify everyone else that needs to be told. Look at how many people are showing up at the house that night. THAT is not what they needed to happen, yet that is what Alex felt needed to happen so they could all contaiminate the crime scene of course. Ridiculous.
Not to mention googling a restaurant in Edisto while my son and wife are laying dead near me.
Thats not having fat fingers....JMO.

He had hopes Buster would carry on family name and become a lawyer I believe.
If indeed Buster was expected to follow in his father's footsteps and become an attorney like his father, he should have waited until he was out of law school to cheat. Which makes me wonder if he cheated to get tossed out of school so he wouldn't have to become what his father expected. jmo

Alec calls the neighbor kid. As one does. Did he call Buster? Make sure he was safe? Make sure someone was with him before delivering the horrible news? When/how did Buster find out?

Poor Alec prolly didn't get to eat all day.

Good to see you here @Love Never Fails. :)

I think AM has narc qualities similar to Salida's BM where a narc only needs one child as that extension of themself and any additional child is just a spare-- easy collateral. I don't doubt that PM was closer to his mom in the way MM2 was closer to SM. Here, according to AM, PM was the irresponsible, costly child whereas the firstborn was being raised in AM's image. MOO
Hi Seattle! There are getting to be so many of these murders by narcissists that it’s overwhelming. He absolutely reminds me of BM. I’m still so surprised that adult children can’t see through the garbage. I mean, PM saw it. Maybe he even thought he and his mom could force Alex to get help. I do wish Buster would tell his dad to come clean!

Yes

It is the smoking gun. Literally the killer on video. What more could you want.
Oh we know some need the barrels of the weapons poking up out of the weeds.

Plus, murder planning and (literal) execution can really rev up one’s appetite!

Just LOL'd. Witness' answer to Mr Barber's odd question about what data from other days might show .

"Every day is a new day!"

Jury is excused at this time for another break concerning housekeeping matters.

Maybe when they got together that evening, (and being unaware of the financial crimes), Maggie and Paul confronted Alex and said enough is enough, time to end these drug shenanigans, we’re going to tell your brothers, law partners, dad, etc., unless you agree to go inpatient for rehab.

Maybe that was the trigger. It was certainly on Paul’s mind in May.

Theres no evidence to support this notion, but it crossed my mind.

You raise some good points @Boodles. I'm inclined to take this further in that PM was more about protecting the feelings and welfare of his mother than concerned about addiction.

I think AM would be annoyed that PM was not taking his side as BM was groomed to do. We see this in the jailhouse calls with BM where he tells him he's looking forward to talking to him to explain about the pills when he gets out.

I believe the story of 20+ year addiction was a surprise to the family as much as it was to Chris Wilson. And not to say that AM was not a user -- just not to the degree promoted by AM and his defense. MOO

Is the defense going to whine they don't have time to begin? Or will they crap up the afternoon with distractions?

Waters has established that the backlight on Maggie’s phone turned off at 9:07 p.m. - right around the time Alex Murdaugh’s SUV drove past the spot on Moselle Road where her phone was found the next day. That seems bad for the defense.

Digital evidence is the new DNA

short of finding the murder weapon under AMs bed I am not sure what else people want

What a great witness, I love his snappy comebacks to the defense.
