I was expecting the coroner to say he was called by Alex that night. Seems Alex called everyone else he could think of.

What is interesting is this just wasn’t very well planned or executed.

The guns have to still be close by.

Law enforcement must really have dropped the ball there?

AM took huge risks and got away with half them.
Some weapons that were used in murders were never found despite that the suspect was still found guilty. The trial that was a juror on the pistol was missing despite that other good breadcrumbs sealed the deal, guilty. Oh the weapon was found after the trial in a neighbors fishpond during the process of them cleaning it.

Wait.... is this new witness a medical examiner? But, no medical degree? How the heck... What is his education?
Did he stay at a Holiday Inn?

ETA: Aha, I stand a bit corrected, I see now he is a coroner.... but, still... they didn't state his education/credentials....

And never seem to consider how highly motivated killers are to conceal, tamper, dispose of evidence to prevent just such an occurrence.

Exactly

Obstruction and staging are the artefacts we have leftover.

Oh I think the digital evidence sinks him. I just feel had they searched the property properly they likely would have found the murder weapons.

Also, Beach released Buster from the suit. AM and the estate of PM are still defendants in the case. MOO
RSBM

*all IMHO*

I think this is why Buster was not murdered. Buster was released from the lawsuit, and therefore not a public embarrassment to Alex and the Murdaugh name.

Alex always wants to appear likeable and successful. I think Alex is very concerned about his reputation and loss of stature.

I know Alex is keenly aware of his family legacy and the part he plays in it. I'm sure he and his father expected the boys to follow along the same career path to continue the family's appearance of prominence and good standing in their community.

Alex worked hard to look like a good family man, had a nice house with a wife and two kids. I think Alex was extremely furious at Paul for ruining their reputation. In his mind, his second kid became a liability to the family name. In Alex's mind, Paul became the "spare" child and could be sacrificed for the good of the family name. Buster is still "good" enough to continue the legacy. Paul's death would also be a distraction from Alex's pill habit and major financial crimes.

When Maggie found out about the pills, I think Alex panicked and knew Maggie would divorce him. Maggie would soon cause Alex even more embarrassment with a public divorce and so he added her to the kill list.

Now Alex and Buster can have a fresh start! /sarcasm

This was from Monday morning.
"Prosecutor Waters says that General Motors reached out to the prosecution on Friday and provided a ton of data this weekend from Alex Murdaugh’s Chevy Suburban. Waters said GM in March 2022 said they had no data and then suddenly found a bunch of it."

Why does DH always seem so ill prepared?

Coroner is an elected position and in South Carolina is almost never a physician. The job of the coroner is to review deaths and refer to a medical examiner as needed.

I'm watching this witness intently.

I'm waiting to see if HP brings out his protractor. And worried if the coroner brings out his borrowed rectal thermometer.

Agreed AM might as well just looked up and waved for a Google Earth map pic.

Fat finger the phone lol ..made me spit my drink out in the lounge. Heard of butt dialing but ok.
Fat finger dialing....is the defense implication going to be AM could not have pulled the trigger because his fingers were too fat to fit?

The best question to date:

DH: Do you carry a rectal thermometer?

Coroner: no I borrow one from the EMTs.

Thermometers aren’t accurate, but feeling the axilla is. Geez I guess I’ll go back to school. Good grief!
