He may be concerned that Rogan, because Paul isn't returning his call, will come over and find the scene before Alex gets there so he can be the one. It would ruin his narrative if he wasn't the one to discover the carnage. jmo
Good catch!!

Buster wasn't giving Alex "problems."
Except for flunking out of USC law program for plagiarism. Of course he and dear ole' Dad were on the jailhouse tapes discussing who to get money to in order to get him back in the program.

This family is unbelievable in its sense of entitlement. Nothing is off limits in their way of thinking.

MOO

If it was my death, not sure I would be laughing. DH is playing the good ‘ol’ boy card. That is because he has nothing. People can argue that the prosecution has circumstantial evidence. But, defense cant explain it away reasonably. They rely on intimidation, embarrassment, non-sequitors, confusion. At $50K per week, I suppose they need to do something other tHan muck it up like Griffin did. Ironically, they were contending that AM had a $50K per week habit with his addiction. Geez.
I guess it is better to have a $50k drug habit to use as an excuse for the theft, fraud and murder. AM still, IMO, thinks he has some control and this is all just a bump in the road.

Hell no! DH condescending tone with the coroner (30+ years in the county) over the pronunciation of rigor (mortis). Shameful... or as my late grandfather would say, it appears DH was born without a shame bone.

I think AM pretty much counted on the shield of invincibility that his generational family heritage gave him. In his mind, nobody would really investigate because of the strong family influence in the area. (It may have shielded or protected them in the past from other suspicious deaths. IMO.) And I think the family influence did buy him time because I think LE was still deferential to a point. As a lawyer, he knew that he would be a "suspect" from being the husband/dad, as well as being the ones to report the deaths. But, he figured he wouldn't be thoroughly investigated and probably thought that tossing out ideas like retaliation for boat death/accident would be good enough to keep it in the SODDI/nebulous "bad guy" territory forever and ever.

I think the only thing the defense can reasonably argue at this point is that LE overlooked a lot of stuff/didn't test certain things/made more allowances (lots of people at Moselle the next day, for example) than might normally be given, etc.

Regardless, all the evidence points straight to AM.

Really have to wonder how many more family skeletons are in the closet, waiting either to be further/better hidden or fall out into the light of day.

MOO.
Some Prestigious Families had their own cemeteries in the day but some prefer to stuff the bones in the closet. I cannot imagine what the size of AM's cemetery would be, from here to the horizon.

In his early career he did some good things and was a great trial attorney with a sharp mind. I believe he got his hands dirty along the way up the political ladder, and now his age is working against him. I think he might have health related issues.

Just my speculation.
Yes, the TV/Media lawyers. Always posing. Free advertising for new clients. Second guessing the folks in the arena. Looking for their next client and showing how smart they are. I’ve stopped watching them.

I've never been able to think of any theory. Perhaps Alex thought of Buster as much less trouble than Paul, and maybe Paul was Maggie's favorite, but that's all I got. Somehow, Alex's mind conceived of killing these two people. I do think that when Alex said "Killer had been thinking about it a long time" he meant, "From time to time, it popped into my head that I wish Maggie were dead...and I wish Paul had never been born and I wish Paul were dead" (and this was accompanied by various violent fantasies.

If most of his anger was directed at Maggie and Paul, then maybe not enough left over for Buster.

All opinion of course.
I think Paul finding those 'bags' of pills in Alex's computer bag and calling him out on it by text "we need to talk'" started the anger ball rolling. Then Maggie's phone showed she was looking up the kind of pills so they were going to confront him in May.

How dare they question him when they benefit by the very means that he provides for them kind of thing IMO.

They want the Judge to Rule, which is insane, as the Jury has had to sit through this for so long, And this Is a Jury Trial! Grabbing at straws big time, and thankfully the Judge slapped that idea down in a very professional way.
Your input here is invaluable. Appreciate the explanation. Unfortunately, I suspect that you gained much law from your own experience that none of us ever want that for ourselves.

Well, that last witness was a purty thing. Not sure what they wanted from her or how it matters. These old f*rts can't help themselves can they??? Even Elic got a bang out of that. Unprofessional

Malignant Narcissist. He will be shocked when he is convicted and sentenced. Time to pay the piper.

I agree. Somehow, getting Buster together with the other two must have posed some challenges. Nothing in evidence that I know of has pointed to Alec trying to get Buster to come over (might have further aroused Maggie's suspicions).

But yes, if he had been at the kennel, I do believe he'd be dead as well.

IMO.
Agreed, but Buster was living 3 hours away at the time of the murders thankfully..

If they are going to try and sell his “mis representing” himself in that video as an “opps, oh well” moment then bye bye and good luck AM, next stop; Broad River Rd.

As usual, DH has his only recourse — defame, discredit, etc. Jurors, working people, don’t like it. He thinks he is talking to his good’ol boys. No fool like an old fool.

DH got schooled and humiliated this morning by that investigator so he’s taking it out on this guy.
What a jerk.

That Paul's own snapchat video of Rogan's dog that captured him, Maggie and Alex and nobody else is a key element that proves that he was there at the kennels right at the time of murders and will help convict him IMO, is divine intervention.

Alex brought down by Paul is justice for him and Maggie.

MOO
And Paul was doing a kind deed for a friend. His last act. We get to see a side of him that wasn't irresponsible or out of control.

I’m sure AM still thinks this is going to fall his way.

I think Buster worked at that restaurant? Maybe he was at work and AM was trying to reach him? That's the only thing I can think of. Some work places don't allow cell phone use while on the clock.
Buster was included in the list of alibi phone calls AM made on his drive to see his mother (following the murders).

AM told investigators that BM was working at Wild Wings, Rock Hill, killing time until he returned to law school in January. Per AM, Buster was living with his girlfriend and her mother in Rock Hill.

Later, I recall bodycam audio when Buster arrives at Moselle and AM instructed others not to allow him at the kennels/crime scene. MOO
