He can't adequately explain the big lie. Nor can he explain not hearing the shotgun blasts as he supposedly began riding away on a golf cart less than a minute before the murders. JMO.
Why can’t they use it to prove/show bad character?
Then who did? Seriously. Who else had any motive whatsoever.the motive was to buy time? seems absurd and there is no financial reason behind this , no insurance..etc..
I dunno...seems like white collar crime is one thing..he might go to jail , he may have to make restitution...but murder? come on.. why do this? to your baby? to your wife? I don't believe it. mOO
if he can swindle Gloria S’s son he is just evil.okay now I'm seeing something else...and sorry if it's been mentioned, I am late to this game..but what if he wanted his pills? did his mom have pills at her house? what if he went back and was like give me my damm pills? but they wouldn't tell him where they were or whatever..what if he fired his gun to scare them but it hit
one of them and then he had to shoot the other witness..because he was PARANOID and freaking out...?
still I don't see it..they have to show me..so far I know he's a swindler..thats all I've got. I can't really blame him for being cunning in his description of events and steering to certain things..he is an attorney after all.
mOO
Court TV expert body language AM shakes head yes while answers no. Jurors are mirror him not good with jury crying. 911 call try to tend to them failed to help. Acting. Pulled eyebrows together. Dry mouth. Deep concentration pushes tinge. Wow. She nails it AM can look you in the eye and lies. He admitted it. Compares to drew Peterson with charm
I can’t stop laughing after reading this tweet …. beyond clever!
And let's not forget Alex himself is who put himself in this position by taking the stand. If he didn't take the stand to try to convince the jury of his innocence, then the state wouldn't be able to ask all these questions about how he lied right to his clients and then deceived them. It is relevant to deciding if a juror should believe him when he looks right at them and says I didn't murder my wife and I didn't murder Paul. Really so we should believe he is now being truthful, but I'm sure all those clients.. children, disabled, and even his own brother and best friend.. he stole from and they also believed him.Bad character is typically excluded from admissible evidence but can be introduced during sentencing.
In this case, the defense opened the door for the financial crimes to be admitted as evidence and why the state is questioning AM about how he stole millions from vulnerable, injured, clients.
At the conclusion of today's trial, DH complained to the court about AM's character being denigrated but Judge Newman was quick to respond that the credibility of a witness in any trial is an issue.
IMO, this is about the credibility of the witness where AM is a proven liar about very important matters that caused him to lose his law license and you should not believe him about not killing his wife and son either. MOO
I was trying to watch for things I learned on The Behavior Panel but I am very new at what to watch for. I did see rapid blinking with some of the hot-button topics. Sometimes he was protecting his privates by crossing his legs and or dropping his hands in his lap. His leg jiggling was probably just his ADHD. OMO.I didn't get to watch today and have just seen a few snippets this evening.
How was AM's body language while on the stand? I would love some insight. Thank you.
Side note. Isn't Busters girlfriend a practicing attorney? I guess she must be taking a leave of absense for this trial. When I saw a bit of footage from earlier today, BM was on the aisle end, then to his right: his girlfriend, his aunt (AM's sister), JMM, someone else, then RM at the opposite end from BM. IMO.
not spending 50k/week on drugs- do you realize how many pills that is? To spend 50k a week on oxy he would have to be taking in excess of 100 pills a day.there are some very high functioning addicts out there.
And we have to remember they actually saw the horrifying pictures. It would send my mind there when the victim is brought up, not necessarily how I feel about the defendant. MooI don't necessarily think this is showing sympathy for AM. I cry when I think about MM and PM and how pointless and unnecessary their deaths were. I cry when I think that PM just wanted to be loved by this nightmare of a father, and he really did not stand a chance at personal accountability being raised by him. I cry the real tears that AM doesn't in the same moments.
I was referring to seeing this on “NBC”. It was a journalist who was there commenting on it.
I said to myself there goes the ‘one juror’. Passing tissue or anything to a defendant should be off limits.
He is sobbing, ‘engaging’ the jury face to face for sympathy. He knows how all of this works. He’s prepped clients for decades.
^^rsbmAll of AM's manipulations and lies take advantage of other's instincts to be kind and to feel compassion without him showing any himself. He knows we want to believe people can't be this evil, and he is a world-class predator because of it.
I don’t buy that either. As a nurse who has worked with many drug addicts.not spending 50k/week on drugs- do you realize how many pills that is? To spend 50k a week on oxy he would have to be taking in excess of 100 pills a day.
Exactly. In the Netflix doc, M.Beach mom said how they were not allowed thru closer to the crash site but AM was. None of the parents were. So I wonder if he used that badge there as well. He definitely was not afraid imo.It makes even less sense when you consider the fact that he carried around a badge which AM admitted was done (at least in part) to get special treatment from LE. AM himself acknowledged that the badge gave him an advantage with, in his words, "other law enforcement" (insinuating he is also part of LE). The badge was effectively his "get out of jail free" card which he clearly understood how to use effectively (i.e., putting it on the dash if he got pulled over and having it hanging out of his pocket to get access to the hospital rooms of the boat crash victims) so it makes no sense why all of the sudden he was afraid of LE after the murders.
