It's just odd that she never saw it so where did it go? If he showered before dinner and those clothes were in his bedroom then where did they go? Kakhis were found on the bathroom floor with a wet towel. No shirt. So he took a dirty shirt with him after the murders? I can't imagine Buster packed a dirty shirt from the floor for his dad (he didn't testify he did either, just grabbed shorts and tshirts from the closet).. so Blanca comes the next day and finds the pants and wet towel and not shirt. IT doesn't make sense that it would be anywhere else and if Blanca did laundry she would be the one to see it unless for some reason Alex took the dirty shirt with him that night.
Agree, very odd, it went the way of the weapons moo

I think most of the southern boy exec types have infidelity on their bingo cards so that wouldn’t surprise me and wouldn’t make him a murderer.

No but it would show yet ANOTHER lie by Alex who said they had a great marriage. Just another lie to throw on the pile of lies he's already copped to.

Well you know I can actually see him convincing someone that SLED was framing him. You know the missing gun Paul had stolen.. then he had a replacement that is now missing. Maybe Alex claims the stolen gun had to be the murder weapon and he needed someone to dispose of Paul's replacement so that SLED didn't find it and say it was all Alex. We have heard how he talks himself out of things. If anyone disposed of it, I can count on one hand the people I think he asked to do it and of course all so that SLED didn't frame him, the most innocent lying husband and father when the real killer is out there using Paul's stolen gun or something along those lines.
Just watched the Netflix Series, and John Paul Marvin is caught by Drone footage, taking numerous guns from the property after the murders! I take back every nice thought I had about him. Truly a Mob family. A family of Narcissists? I don't know, but Much is wrong there. True crimes are so much worse than any Movie. MOO

Oh I agree. But many cheat and say they have great marriages so while I do think he’s guilty, I don’t see a mistress as being a lie as to the state of a marriage. In general. especially when that may a common old boy’s club “thing to do.” Ugh.

It's not only infidelity. It's also violent behavior by Alex

I was only able to watch the trial until around noon today. I saw that the jurors are going to visit Mossell. I'm going back to read but wanted to ask if there were any "BOMBSHELLS" that I missed.
The only point that stood out for me was that the truck that Paul drove to Moselle was parked at the house. There was testimony that Paul always drove to the kennels. If his truck was at the house, how did he get to the kennels? Golf cart?

Why wasn't the golf cart at the kennels if Paul and Maggie used it to get to the kennels?

It seems like Alex, Maggie and Paul used the golf cart to drive to the kennels that night, but didn't Alex claim that he didn't know how they got to the kennels?

Their explanation as he has closed in several different locations that he was staying at, which is probably true, implying that Blanca never saw it again because it could be somewhere else. However, if I had a piece of clothing that could exonerate me, I would provide it I would not have to be asked.
So in that same vein, did LE analyze the shower and tub drains for blood etc? Let's hope. But maybe if you run enough water through it, they could be clean?

The whole “the trees have grown since then” is odd. No one has said that a shooter hid behind trees or that one escaped through a forest of narrow trees or anything other than the dogs running to a treed area to do their business And some fruit trees that were leaning over. A weak attempt on the prosecutor’s side to prevent the trip unless I missed something about the trees.
The defense was trying to discredit the idea that AM could have heard the shots if he was in the house. Their 'expert' claimed the trees made a difference in what could be heard. The trees were smaller then. If the jury sees the trees larger than they were that June, they may conclude that the trees indeed could have distorted the sound. Try and find that guy's testimony re the sound level inside the house....it's worth watching to see how the prosecution revealed the true sound level using the witnesses own charts and formulas.

Absolutely agree. Very disappointed with Mr Conrad's cross. Missed some opportunities. Oh well, prosecution was being kind. Perhaps it is not a good look to do tough cross examinations on family members.
Not a good look, but then the Jury has not seen what we have. I can only imagine how they will feel once the trial is over. If Any One votes Not Guilty, they will feel so sorry for the rest of their life. I do not envy them their responsibility:( MOO

It is very clear to me, but for those that it isn't clear I think I can sum up my thinking like this:

The simplest most logical thing is almost always the truth. Paul was communicating with his friend about something that was ongoing and real time. He was on the phone with him for 4 minutes during which time that friend heard Alex in the background 8:40-8:44. Then at 8:45 Paul records a video to show his friend of the friends dog. That video was never sent. In that video we also hear Alex. He lied about being there during this time frame until he was faced with that video and his voice being undeniably on it. He said, I was never there.. didn't see them for 2 hours prior to finding them. Any evidence that Paul was alive and trying to text or answer any texts or calls coming in ceased just after that video was recorded. Maggie's phone shows no activity that would indicate she was doing it from that time on also. One man was there and lied.

In order for it to be anyone other than Alex, then we have to do all sorts of assuming and lots of giving grace to an admitted liar with many reasons to want them gone that all came to a head that day. So not only would he have to be deaf and blind to not see or hear his family being killed, but then he would also be the most unlucky person to have his financial crimes coming to a head that day by being confronted about them, his sons boat case coming to a head in just a few days, his drug use problem being in the hot seat of his wife and son (who happened to be the ones killed), and so now it's the prefect storm for him to looks so guilty, but also have a random person that came in and used the families guns to kill them while he was at the house not hearing it?
Excellent summary.
I hope that the Prosecution keeps their summary short and focused and repeats it several times. (Perhaps adding in that his clothes from the Snapchat video are missing and some guns are missing.)

The jury can't be distracted by the many extraneous factors, they just have to have that one big thing that they just can't get past to get to reasonable doubt.

I wasn't able to listen to a lot of today's testimony. Did the Defense actually make any new points that a reasonable juror might think matter?

Nothing new. Alex will have to depend on the kindness of on any unreasonable jurors.

Altogether, I didn't see today as a win for the defense. Not necessarily any wins for the prosecution. The morning was boring with the gunshot "expert", rather technical, no new information. The afternoon with AM's brother was a lot of rambling, I didn't watch the whole show, but it didn't seem to either benefit AM.

I felt that John Marvin was sincere. It was interesting when he choked up talking about Paul, that was real emotion. Something we didn't see from AM the other day.

I don't see a trip to Moselle as benefit for defense either. Will AM get to go on the roadshow?

Does anyone have any theories on where the guns are?

For some reason, I can't see Alex throwing them in the trash. Especially after learning they treated their guns almost like pets with special names. I have a So in that same vein, did LE analyze the shower and tub drains for blood etc? Let's hope. But maybe if you run enough water through it, they could be clean?

This was out in the country. I think there is just a multitude of places where the guns could’ve been disposed of almost impossible to locate. Alex had ample opportunity to stash them temporarily and then dispose of them permanently at a later date.

Blanca testified that she had cleaned the shower, I do not think they swabbed the drain.

If you go to 7:55:45 it's where Will is talking about the PMPED attorneys huddling with Creighton looking very serious. It should be teed up to that timestamp

Ohhh my, first off, that sounds like CW had them off and away and then here comes RM over to see what's up. That second thing sure sounds like an explosive witness. AM being a part of that chain email with the heat from Miami bathing beauty that wasn't that lawyer's wife sure makes you wonder, yet again, why that was never brought up when that same lawyer took the stand? Maybe they have someone closer to AM?

Not sure if it's related to the hallway consult but JS has to be steamed that she's been portrayed as untruthful, overblown by Alec&Co. I can believe some righteous indignation.

Let me get this straight.

PM is working in Okatie and using the old farm truck rather than his F150 Platinum that is exactly like JMM's. This is because PM's F150 is in the shop.

JMM gets a call from RM4 asking him if he can take RM3 to his doctor's appointment (in Savannah, I believe) as RM3 is having trouble breathing, but RM4 cannot make the entire trip himself as he has time sensitive appointments later in the day.

JMM agrees and they decide to meet halfway, in Ridgeland. RM4 drives RM3 to Ridgeland in RM3's car. JMM chooses to drive to Ridgeland in PM's old farm truck rather than his own pickup (which he leaves in Okatie for PM).

Why would JMM choose to take the old farm truck for this important trip where a breakdown would be a major inconvenience (since a breakdown could delay JMM meeting to pickup RM3 or, if the breakdown occurs after JMM and RM3 continue on in RM3's vehicle could delay RM4 from getting to his time sensitive meetings)?

Why wouldn't JMM take his own F150 and let PM take the farm truck?
@Diddian No, but you’ve got part of it straight. It’s confusing. Here’s what JMM said:

1. RM got an unscheduled Dr appt for Handsome (RM3=“H”), needed JMM to meet him 1/2 way to get H to Savannah
2. RM picked H up at Almeda. Drove him in Miss Libby’s car 1/2 way.
3. JMM took H to Dr in Savannah in Miss Libby’s car
4. RM drove JMM’s truck back to Almeda
5. H admitted to hospital. JMM drove Miss Libby’s car home to Okatie. Paul, who worked at Okatie with JMM, was asked to drive Miss Libby’s car back to Almeda, and to then drive JMMs truck back to Okatie when he, Paul, came to work the next day.
6. Paul drove Miss Libby’s car to Almeda, then took JMM’s truck to Moselle.
7. JMM received call about murders. All he had was Paul’s “hunk of junk” farm truck.
8. JMM got in farm truck. He was concerned about the truck making it to Moselle, so he called Greg Alexander (Yemassee police chief, a friend), and asked for an “escort” to Moselle in case of a breakdown. GA agreed.
9. In Varnville, GA passed JMM. But then the farm truck broke down. JMM called GA and said “turn around and come get me” (in Varnville).
10. GA does and they proceed to Moselle.

Is that clear? (Ha!)

Wow, now that I have thought about it, it’s hinky as heck!! I think this implies how the evidence AM disposed of was done (AM was in Varnville/Almeda between 9:22 - 9:43, and IIRC, Onstar data showed he paused near the train tracks in front of Almeda for a few minutes).

But why would the DEFENSE bring it up unless it’s preemptive because they think CW has something about this in rebuttal?

And remember, during this logistical nightmare testimony, Griffin asked JMM: “Did you see any guns in the farm truck?” Why did he ask him that Q?

I need a secret decoder ring! Does anyone else find this awfully unusual?

Seems they would want all the pieces of the human body. Personally, I could NEVER leave that at the scene for family to clean up. They covered with dirt the spots where MM was in the grass. Maybe sweep up the kid's brains would be nice. Seems so sloppy.

"He wiped his face with his shirt and that is how we knew he murdered them" said LE to JMM when they told him AM's shirt was covered in blood, which it wasn't. This fabrication was presented to the GJ as fact which led to his indictment. Full stop.

All the evidence of prior bad acts. Unbelievable that this was admitted.

A raincoat no one recognizes.
There are companies that clean crime scenes as a profession, and do a very good job. In my family's case, Mom's insurance Company set all that up for us. Prosecutor and Victim Witness both have all kinds of assistance for all that as well.

She has much to deal with, as her sister was married to the Banker(can't remember name) who colluded with AM, and is in Prison for that.

Blanca testified Paul always took/rode the ATV, the gas one; he didn't use the golf cart. I have heard no testimony (I could have missed it for sure) of how many golf carts or ATVs were owned and available for use. Maybe there's more than one cart or maybe Maggie rode her bike and followed Paul. No testimony about Maggie's bike either. Electric, mountain, 3 speed, racing..who knows.
