It must be very hard for his family to see where he is today. Post-sentencing photo from your link.
Alex knew the Jury wasn't swayed by his constant lies. He began to wither after he testified. He lost weight. Although he'd appear to have clarity, at times, hIs eyes faded; no longer clear and bright.

Once, I watched convicted felon AM stand during a break the Judge called. It was maybe 5 days before the end of the trial. AM stood, then slowly sidestepped toward the aisle as if he had important places to go and no one could see him. His shoulders were humped and no longer erect. Head was down as he shuffled about between the aisle and the D table before a guard saw Alex ambling away. She told the guard who was closest. Alex was ambling about on a mission in his head when the guard quietly led him back to his proper place. He had no focus. Maybe no purpose.

It reminded me of my father in early stages of ALZ. My father was 82yo at onset. AM is just 54yo. MM was 52yo. Buster is 26yo. PM was 22yo. I saw BM took his father's advice and wore a hat at HH.

I hope not. Aiding as to helping him with money in the past, for example, might be one thing but anyone who can spare his brother the pain of cleaning up a dead son's blood and brains just cant be a bad guy..I really want to believe there is some humanity and selflessness there on the part of JMM
Sadly MOB mentality, passing down through the generations it seems. Too many have suffered within and because of...MOO
If you got the cash, crooked doctors are fairly easy to find
Was Walterboro a change of venue or the closest courthouse?
No change of venue in this case.

The whole area already feels 'lighter' if that makes sense. Such darkness and bad press was truly embarrassing to a really quaint and beautiful part of the State made up of hardworking and honest people.

MOO
Most communities have their 'bad eggs'. AM didn't commit all his crimes in a vacuum. He had plenty of assistance along the way. MOO

My step son went to USC Law school. They did such and extensive background check he had to explain a speeding ticket he got out of state, that he forgot about, and didn't mention in his application. They look at everything including his parents divorce, credit reports, etc. He was accepted. I suspect that AM's application wasn't scrutinized like john q publics. JMO
Really? I had no idea. Figured you just take the LSAT and if your test scores were good enough you got in. Didn’t realize it was like a pre employment background check. The things I learn on WS.

Not to belabor the point, BUT, The trial never went into where he was able to obtain 50k of oxy a week, how he got them, from whom, if they were being filled by pharmacies (impossible) or black market, etc. Here's my thought...NO ONE WANTED TO GO THERE. Drug cartels have infiltrated every edge of society, government, LE, schools, etc. Payoffs of people are made for silence. Could these murders have been done by drug runners as a warning to AM? Pay us..you are behind...Pay LE, they are closing in on us? They didnt kill AM, he was their best customer or whatever his role was? The real story here is the drugs. Just my opinion. DID AM kill his wife and son? Probably...however, no fingerprints, DNA, blood, unsecured murder scene....Perhaps AM couldnt say he thought the crimes were committed by drug runners and blamed the case against Paul and the boat wreck as a revenge killing? Yeah, he was at the kennels...he lied....If he wasnt the shooter, he has a damn good idea who it was IMO and he and the prosecution and the defense never ever went to the drug connection as a motive..dangerous water to stick their toes in....Totally my imagination here but worthy of consideration...You dont spend millions on drugs and no one asks where he got them? Preposterous...MOO
No way he spent all the money he stole on Drugs. LE still investigating many others...And he beat goes on...

yes all about the insurance fraud...Erik Bland tonight said that he does NOT think that AM or Paul killed her...his thought is they would have finished the job rather than call 911 and have her leave still alive and potentially start talking. I guess it was just a great opportunity when she fell to collect that insurance.
Agree, if you wanted to kill someone, pushing them downstairs causing an accident on stairs is such an iffy way to accomplish it. MOO

There was no insurance on MM, but She Did own property in her own name that AM may not have been able to get to, unless she was removed from the picture.

Agreed and I looked at a man in the end that had been stripped of all his armor and defeated. I was embedded in this trial and what I considered a battle with the same enemy day after day. Both sides came out launching what they had at each other and I took note of how AM stood firm and upright, smug in his defense as we threw small arms at the defenses side first. The defense threw some good counter attack bombs at us but the key was that we hadn't unleashed the weapon that would start to crumble their fortress. So we took the hit's then went to work on hitting the weak locations of the defenses battle line and sure enough they started popping smoke to hide from are direct hits. With the battle raging we slid into place the weapon that would put a good hole in the wall for us to breach, the kennel video and thanks to PM for his last act of unknown bravery it blew the wall and case wide open. After that the defense scrambled as hit after hit slowly destroyed their camp. AM at this point was losing the will to fight despite his plea's up on the stand and I took note of how the armor of lies and finger pointing slowly fell away, exposing the evil inside. The end of this battle was in sight and at that point we left it in the hands of the jurors in hopes that all the evidence we used was enough to overtake the defenses camp and claim victory. I really took note of how this drawn out battle was wearing AM down each day as he showed up on the battle line but with shoulders down and the fight leaving his eyes each day along with pieces of his armor missing or dented. The end came as AM stood for the last time to face his fate and before me stood a shell of a man, totally defeated and stripped of all the armor that he had hid behind for so long. It's not about winning one battle it's about staying engaged in that same battle and keeping steady fire on the enemy the entire time to win the war on evil and those who use it for their own selfish needs.

Not sure the intent was to kill - you can claim an insurance payout from injury just as easily. MAYBE instead of laying her off due to finances, the intent was to rid himself of her services and make a little insurance $$ as a side benefit.

Hey, @Edvis, spot on analysis as usual. How are you getting along after your surgery?

How he will ever live with himself for the evil he did to his wife and son, that he so viciously murdered beats me. I hope Maggie and Paul will haunt him until his dying day.
God Bless Maggie and Paul, may they rest in peace knowing Alex has been found guilty for the evil he did that day.

Appreciate this too, as I don't watch tv. At least its rare.

No TV here, nothing worth watching, watch whatever on internet and listen to radio.
