I've served on a high-profile triple murder case and the Bailiff took care of all the jurors' needs. The Clerk of Court never interacted with the jurors.

Egg Juror, come on down! You're the next contestant on ... destroying BH's credibility!Recess until 3:15 pm ET.
Agree!! How can they say today that this or that influenced them when they were asked day of trial after verdict if this and that was true???? I hope there is a way that Judge Toal can make her decision based on what they said right after the verdict. It is her descetion to say that she doesn't believe what is said today, isn't it??It is so aggravating that this one woman could cause this much drama and that none of these jurors saw fit to say anything during the trial. I’m really skeptical about the jurors who became busom buddies with Becky Hill and after the verdict and her book came out these jurors were quick to snitch on her. I don’t trust those jurors. It seems vindictive on their part and not that they were genuinely influenced to change their verdict based on anything she said! JMO
I didn’t expect BH to totally deny asking egg lady any questions prior to Judge Newman talking to egg lady nor to say that Judge Newman never spoke to her about it.
Agree. I think she is smart enough and savvy enough to see what is going on. She might not be able to put her finger on it but I think she can deny new trial and pass it on.Someone needs to remind juror Z that she is under oath now and/or explain why she didn't come forward before end of trial and tell the judge what BH was doing if she is so hell bent to do the right thing today.Wow that went by fast. So it’s just juror Z who says she’s influenced. Justice Toal denies Harpootlian’s request to inquire further and clarify with Juror Z. I think Justice Toal is not inclined to give AM a new trial and will force him to go through the appeals process and let the federal courts grant him a new trial. It will not be done by her hand. JMO
@cathyrusson
Court back in session.
NOW: Barnwell county Clerk of Court Rhonda McElveen on the stand.
McElveen is a friend of Becky Hill.
View attachment 478882
McElveen says her and Hill discussed writing a book about #AlexMurdaugh trial, "because she needed a lake house and I needed to retire." (She's been funny/bit sarcastic during testimony)
McElveen testified that Becky Hill said to her a guilty verdict would be better to sell books.
McElveen said she arrived in court one morning and was told that Becky Hill had taken a juror home the night before. She saw Becky and said, "Please tell me you didn't take a juror home." Becky told her she did but she didn't talk about the case......
This is what happens when The Media descends on small town USA. There is literally nothing going on in that location of the state. This was everyone's chance for their 15 minutes that usually would NEVER happen to these folks otherwise. The temptation is just too much so you get this kind of fiasco.Irrespective of how effective BH may have been in terms of her assigned duties, she has big issues keeping to JUST her duties. Authoring a book on the case, not just the trial, being a prime example.
And that mentality seems to dominate a lot of what occurs in the Low Country, the rules are just short term obstructions to advancing your own agenda. Consider AM's behaviors shortly following the boat accident and how many people he vowed to "take care of..." while arranging for the removal and loss of evidence.
MOO but I don't find BH to be either forthcoming or credible. MOO I don't believe for a moment that Judge N said nothing at all to her about the Egg juror....there had to be some exchange before that woman ended up in chambers over the FB posts.
Guess she's not going to get her lake house. I did buy her book for my kindle before it was no longer printed but have not read it and probly won't. Wonder if is worth more now???She made $100K on her book, along with co-author, not much money at all.. was it worth it? Not, imo. Her credible is done. Can't put a price on your morals. moo
