COLUMBIA, SC (WCBD) - A Lowcountry Senator is speaking out about the fight between two students at Forest Hills Elementary that resulted in the tragic death of 10-year-old RaNiya Wright.
According to a report from The Associated Press, Sen. Margie Bright Matthews said on the Senate floor Tuesday that RaNiya was not kicked or attacked by several students. She also said the 10-year-old did not bang her head in the altercation.
Instead, Bright Matthews reportedly said RaNiya was arguing with the other student in the principal's office, then suddenly grabbed her head, complained of pain, threw up and lost consciousness.
