Age 27, Ht 6’3”, Wt ~190lbs, brown skin, black hair and beard, may have been wearing an orange jacket and dark grey sweats and tan hiking boots, carrying a black and green sort of army print pack.
Missing Saturday Dec 6, 2025
Car found at RC Edwards Meadow Project (use Google maps)
Extensive search by Pickens County Sheriff Office and volunteers have included raft search on the inlet inside the meadow project, on foot search in a large area encompassing the Clemson experimental forest and surrounding areas, cadaver dog and search dogs in these areas, and many drones. Nothing has been found of our friend Swapnil yet. His dog is safe with his mom; please focus on Swapnil.
Also an the 14th, one of the FB group members reached out to me requesting my assistance. After reviewing the case, I started making plans to search for Swapnil the following Saturday, Dec 20th. I contacted several other searchers who all agreed to come help search. Our goal was to perform an Aquatic Search of the inlet south of Meadow Falls and conduct a ground and Aerial Search of the surrounding forest.
We met with local searchers at the location Swapnil's vehicle was located. From there we proceeded to the inlet to perform the Aquatic Sonar Search. We were also informed that two boxing gloves belonging to Swapnil were located on the shoreline of the inlet. It is believed that Swapnil had these gloves with him.
Two search groups began the Aquatic Sonar Search with remotely controlled sonar search boats. Other groups continued searching the nearby woods. Below is a photo of me searching with my sonar search boat.
In just over an hour, both sonar search groups had focused in on an anomaly in the water.
After further analysis with sonar and assessing with an underwater ROV, we confirmed that we had found Swapnil. In the sonar image above, you can even see his footprints in the sediment.
We contacted the Pickens County Sheriff's Department and they immediately responded. The Sheriff, numerous Deputies, Investigators, and Recovery Team were all there in under an hour and were very professional and appreciative of our search efforts. I helped to direct the recovery teams to Swapnil's location where he was recovered.
I will add a few more posts with some details of the search and an important message from the Pickens County Sheriff.
