I am not sure if this UID I submitted is the same one as the Namus link is now down. Is there away to tell from a dead Namus link which page it was for? I should have made better notes!

The NamUs case # that corresponds to the Doe Network profile that @chaddylex linked to is 1138.

I hovered over the link of the NamUs unidentified that you submitted and the NamUs case # for that UID was 9998. This case is still in NamUs.

I'm glad that you submitted that Jane Doe as a possible match for Tebble. It's so sad that this unidentified's records were purged.

Here's one possibility for a match to a UID, but there's so little to go on other than the age matching up, the timeframe and the state. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Great sleuthing @chaddylex. I'm sad for the outcome but hopefully it will bring the family some sense of closure. Her identification must not have been highly publicized because I never saw it posted anywhere until now from the tweet you shared. Her missing person's profile is still up on The Charley Project.
I noticed that too. The only reason I figured out she was identified was because I clicked on her NamUs profile and when usually I get that message, they have been found/identified.
It’s very strange that i didn’t see her case being identified anywhere else either.

According to Charley she has been found.

"Tebble ran away from her Easley, South Carolina home on September 7, 1988. Five years later, her remains were found in western Palm Beach County, Florida. They were identified in 2020. Further details are unavailable."

From the PBSO FB page:
"Do you know about the disappearance of Tebble Garrett?
The teen was reported missing in September of 1988 in South Carolina. Five years later, in August of 1993, her skeletal remains were discovered in a hunting area in western #PalmBeachCounty. She was believed to have be traveling between South Carolina and Florida at the time of her disappearance.
Anyone with information is asked to please contact Det. Cogburn at (561) 688-4063 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS."

Does anyone know what set of remains she was? Or if this was a set never put in a database? It would be interesting to know how this came about.

RIP Tebble. My sincerest condolences to her family.

I don’t have time right now but if anyone could do a search of UIDs on websleuths from 1993 in that area maybe we could figure out the match?

If this is the case I'm wondering her pregnancy wasn't detected with the remains.

Do we know how far along she was? Or who the father was?

That information is not public or perhaps even really known, and a cousin of hers posted earlier that she did not know how far along she was, but that she saw her about two weeks before she disappeared and she didn't look pregnant. Thus it certainly sounds like she wasn't far along. That could be why they couldn't tell she was pregnant, if she still was. It is also possible the pregnancy ended for some reason before she was killed. It is possible the child was born and is either dead or alive somewhere. She was originally believed to have been killed no earlier than about 1991 when she was an unknown Doe, so it would be interesting know if she died soon after her disappearence in 1988, and that estimate wasn't accurate, or she did indeed die in 1991.. or 1990, or 1989. She was listed as Palm Beach County Jane Doe 1993.

Her clothes seem odd to me(whatever remained of them when she was found), but maybe if she was still pregnant, that had something to do with the shorts? ''She was wearing a pair of men's light-colored shorts with a stretch waistband, size 9 - 11. She was also wearing one large boot on her right foot.'' Or maybe that was what whoever she was with gave her to wear given that she ran away and may have had little to wear. Perhaps her getting bigger from pregnancy had something to do with that. As for the boots? In Florida? I guess it depends on what type they were and they would have fit in more in South Carolina, but I wonder if those were originally hers? They were said to be large. Maybe like men's boots?

I hope they do find whoever did this to her, given that obviously her family had some knowledge, as posted earlier, of her being in a bad sitiuation. So it sounds like there is some knowledge to go on.
