GUILTY SC - Walter Scott, 50, fatally shot by North Charleston PD officer, 4 April 2015 - #2

They're American citizens. They have that right.
I don't have any problem with their right to have guns, and I don't have a problem with them marching. That said, marching with guns is illegal without a permit and illegal in some states. At this time there is no permit to have "Armed" March.
They are here to seek justice for LE fatal shootings of black men. They say they are ready to shoot if they feel it's necessary.

I can't find anything about the laws of weapons while protesting. Can you provide a link so I can educate myself on that? TIA

At this time there is a clarification that a permit is not required for this event but that a notice has not been filed with Police Dept.

In the following latest info, in the article the NC Gen. Stat.14-277.2 is being referred to and a link in blue is in the article.

Just an update. Revolutionary Black Panthers held a meeting on the New Hanover courthouse where it is illegal to be armed. LE took ten loaded weapons into safekeeping for 24 hrs. They could pick the guns up the next day. The march was cancelled and a rally type meeting was moved to a private owned lot. They held the rally with loaded guns and vowed to organize a national march with thousands of attendees in Wilmington, NC for a later date.

Michael Slager wants judge to toss video of Walter Scott shooting

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...video-walter-scott-shooting-article-1.2994529

Lawyers for a former South Carolina police officer who fired repeatedly into the back of a fleeing motorist hope to persuade a federal judge next week to throw out key evidence, including a bystander's cellphone video of the killing.

Michael Slager's attorneys also want a federal judge to toss out statements he gave to investigators that appeared to conflict with evidence at the scene where Walter Scott was fatally shot in April 2015.

If I was MS I would want all evidence against me thrown out as well.

If I was family of WS I would not want that evidence thrown out.

Not much of a dilemma here imo. Evidence is evidence. Why would one throw any evidence out? Will not be surprised if the prosecution does just that though.

The way this is handled will not go unnoticed by those outside the US right now imo - not earth shattering but disregarding video evidence in this case would be one more reason to disregard any confidence in the US. Justice is what the US is suppose to be about.

The fact that only a portion of the encounter between Slager and Scott is on the recording seems prejudicial, IMO.

When will he be sentenced? It appears the max with this plea would be 25 years. What will the public response be once he is sentenced? I fear people will once again riot, loot, etc. when they dissatisfied with the sentence. I just don't believe admittance of guilt will be enough.

I will reserve judgement on this one until the actual sentence is handed down. But one thing to be sure of... former officer Slager best be staying in prison.

Mr. Slager said little during a brief hearing in United States District Court here, but he acknowledged the factual basis for the plea agreement, which said he had “used deadly force even though it was objectively unreasonable under the circumstances.”

Minutes later, as Mr. Slager was led from the courtroom in handcuffs, he passed crying members of Mr. Scott’s family. Across the courtroom’s center aisle, members of Mr. Slager’s family stood silently and tearfully.

Admittance of guilt is definitely not enough. He should be behind bars. He's a menace, this isn't even his first incident and another force let him go for being unfit.
