PORTLAND -- Scammers have been calling people and asking for donations toward the Kyron Horman search effort, according to the Missing Kyron Horman Facebook page.
"Please know that these are not authorized or supported phone calls from Kyron's family," the warning said. "Kyron's family will never make phone calls soliciting for money."
Anyone who receives such a phone call is asked to report the call to local police and include the phone number of the caller, if possible.
Anyone wishing to make a donation or volunteer can do so at the official website, BringKyronHome.org. All proceeds go toward the search effort.
