They need to get the names of everyone who was at that party and account for when they left and with whom.

Right, he may not have left the party alone.

This is my question. There's a big difference, IMO, if the car was crashed into the ditch or not. I suppose if so, they would specify?

Some FB comments by family & friends are interesting. Doesn't necessarily answer if car was crashed, but gives a bit of insight as to what MIGHT have happened.

DJ's body was found early this afternoon in a field near Interstate 90. http://www.keloland.com/news/article/news/body-of-missing-rapid-city-man-found

It has been extremely cold here (I live 2 1/2 hours from where he was missing/found), and I think it is most likely that he had an accident and got out to walk for help. Unfortunately, people underestimate the cold.

Another couple also had an accident just a couple hours away near Eagle Butte, and it was clear they also left their vehicle. The woman has been found (deceased), but they are still searching for the man.

I'm guessing just elements. I hope they get ahold of the semi-truck driver.

Thank you Insightful.

In the dark, in the cold weather - I wish he had stayed in his car for shelter, or at least on the road instead of walking into that field. His gf must feel awful. It says in the article she could not find the car and assumed he made it home and stopped looking for him :(

Such a sad situation. I would assume he was drinking and not thinking straight having left a party and then crashed his car. This young man could pass for the twin of a young man I know, which made me a little more hopeful than usual that this case would turn out differently. What a senseless reason to die, but one that so many young adults and teens could very easily fall prey to. Prayers for strength and healing for his friends and family.

Yes, I can't imagine the sorrow & guilt she must feel. [emoji22]

This is heartbreaking. My heart is heavy for the gf. Initially I would bet the farm that he died of exposure, however the fact that he was on a cops dash cam talking to persons on the side of the road gives me great pause.
