Man arrested for allegedly threatening officers with BB gun

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A Sioux Falls man is facing charges after police say he threatened officers with a weapon that turned out to be a BB gun.

Police responded to a "check well-being" report around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday near Anway Drive and Claudette Drive. When officers arrived, a witness told officers the subject had a handgun with him.

According to Public Information Officer Sam Clemens, the subject, 23-year-old Douglas Fiebelkorn, took off running and pulled what appeared to be a handgun from his waistband.

Police eventually stopped the suspect and determined the weapon was actually a BB gun.

Clemens said Fiebelkorn was arrested for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

No one was hurt in the incident.
