Pasqalina Esen Badi, 20, was last seen Sunday morning leaving a business near Arrowhead Parkway and Veteran’s Parkway. Around 5 a.m. Sunday, Badi left the business, walked to her car and drove away. The vehicle was found near Arrowhead Parkway and Foss Avenue a few hours later.

Amir Hasan Beaudion Jr., 19, was located Monday night. Police identified Beaudion as a person of interest

Police haven't confirmed that Beaudion abducted Badi, but police say Badi's disappearance and Beaudion's alleged successful abduction occurred in the area of Arrowhead Parkway.

Badi is around 5-foot-2 tall and 115 pounds. She was wearing a black jacket with a gray hood and stripes on the sleeves, dark colored pants and white shoes.

UPDATE: Police locate person of interest in missing Sioux Falls woman case

Person of interest sought in connection with 'successful abduction'

A few people claim on SM that she has been found deceased. A news source contradicts that:

Update: Capt. Bryan Walz with the Pierre Police Department said a woman's body found next to the Missouri River is not the Sioux Falls woman who was reported missing.

Authorities have charged 19-year-old Amir Hasan Beaudion, Jr., who's a person of interest in the disappearance of 20-year-old Pasqalina Esen Badi, with attempted kidnapping and aggravated assault for his involvement in an attempted carjacking reported on Jan. 1. The incident took place at a Hy-Vee parking lot on East 10th Street.

Beaudion was arrested Monday and remains in custody. He has not been charged in Badi's disappearance.

Police said Tuesday Badi's body was discovered on the side of the road between Sioux Falls and Harrisburg on Monday afternoon.

Four years after a brutal crime, the court case against a Sioux Falls murder suspect is on hold. Investigators believe 23-year-old Amir Beaudion Jr. kidnapped a woman in a Walmart parking lot in 2020 and then raped and killed her. He allegedly dumped her body in rural Lincoln County.

Today, he was back in court. His court-ordered mental health treatment is on hold, and so is the case.

Last year Beaudoin underwent a mental health test which showed he was suffering from a mental disease or defect and is unable to understand the nature and consequences of the legal proceedings.

The judge ordered Beaudion to receive up to four months of mental health treatment, which can include therapy and medication. But at today’s hearing the judge learned that the competency restoration process hasn’t even begun because Beaudoin is on a waiting list for treatment at the South Dakota Human Services Center.
