I live in rapid city and I can just about bet she really is alive and went with someone. The area has been thoroughly searched numerous times and even if an animal had gotten to her the dogs would have picked something up by now. Also, this is in the middle of town so it’s not like it’s in the middle of no where. There has been a ton of sightings of her in Michigan. Her parents haven’t even seemed worried.

It is unusual to read such a positive response on Serenity. Oh my, how we all wish this could be true!

Perhaps you know something that we at W/S or the Sheriff isn’t aware of. Where are these sightings in Michigan? Would you please call the sheriff’s department or tip line and let them know?

Having information like this is something that must be shared with the right people. Since no one else has seen it, please be a Good Samaritan by helping in the search for Serenity. Hoping you will make contact with them.

IMO, family members of missing loved ones often get contacted saying there was a sighting. Some of these calls are those with good intentions, they really think they saw them but it really wasn't them. Then you get the calls that are completely baseless. I think this would be a fine line for the family to walk. As far as LE, they are probably working off the evidence they have and what's probable.

IMO, I believe it's highly unlikely this little girl is in Michigan, in plain sight. This is a child fully capable of talking and telling her story. A good samaritan is not permitted to leave with a child and carry on with life.

If she was abducted, tragically, I don't believe she would still be alive.

I believe you must be mistaken here -- this thread is about Serenity Dennard.

Cadaver dogs have made hits in the woods but this child has still not been recovered.

The Black Hills Children's Home is not in the middle of town.

There do not appear to be any msm reports about live sightings of SD in Michigan.

I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will be starting here in August. Thousand and thousands of people will be in the area all over the black hills were Serenity went missing. Maybe someone will find something with this mass influx of people

Have you ever been? I know people who have. It enrages me. I think of men who are fathers who would never want their daughters treated the way they are at that rally.

There are many well to do men who attend,

No not directly in Sturgis. I lived in Rapid City for 12 years. We would be inundated by bikers so I have been around them enough. Though if we could swing it, that’s when we would take our vacation

I used to live in Rapid City and have been to the home and it was rural.

It snowed a lot after she went missing and well into spring. I think unfortunately she decomposed in a remote spot where the dogs can not find her. I am upset by the entire thing because I don’t know why they took her away from her home for her to want to go find her mom. Poor thing.

I went to Sturgis years ago for business reasons. Nothing compares to the experience of arriving there in a rented burgundy Ford Taurus wearing what you think are your cool clothes so you’ll blend in. Nothing!

You’re right there’s some dispicable behavior there. But also 10’s of 1000s good-hearted bikers with a strong bikers code—. the guys who sponsor poker runs to help little kids with cancer or come from miles to line up by the hundreds and honor fallen heros.

If a call went out to them to help search for Serenity, it would be a mob scene and evidence likely trampled if unsupervised. But IMO by the time they were done we would know for sure whether she’s in those woods or not. It would be like the response they got for Jayme search request on steroids.

Despite our efforts, today was not the day to find Serenity Dennard. Rockerville Volunteer Fire Chief Gayle Schmidt has participated in almost every search for the missing child.
Meanwhile investigators continue to follow all leads in the case.

Has Texas Equusearch ever been asked to search for Serenity?
If she's in those woods I believe Tim Miller could find her. MOO.

Thank you for this Pommy. Very helpful to see the terrain and the methods of the searchers. Bless those volunteers for all their efforts. Unfortunately after seeing this I would not be surprised if they have missed her remains all this time. About 20 seconds into the video the man with the orange shirt trips over something but doesn't even bother to turn around and look down to see what it was. They are walking rather quickly. By now if Serenity is out there she is nothing but bones and grass would have grown up around her remains, obscuring them. Yet these searchers are walking quickly through knee high grass as if she would be obvious from a distance of 6-10 feet away. Her skull could look like a turtle shell pressed into the mud by weather conditions, but they are searching as if looking for a lost beach ball tossed into the grass after it grew. I'm more convinced now that they need to call in professional searchers such as Texas Equuasearch. Texas Equusearch volunteers are taught to crawl shoulder to shoulder looking carefully at the ground for any small piece of evidence or bones. Or in walking grid searches they may walk so that they are out-stretched arms lengths apart (so fingertips could touch the fingertips of the searcher next to them) and the entire line stops frequently for any small item found. After seeing the search effort I fear we may be waiting years for Serenity to be found on accident by mushroom hunters. MOO.

Yep. I've noticed the same thing in every video and it's the main reason I think Serenity is still out there. And, I'm so grateful to you for this post because I've all but given up on explaining how often remains are missed by SAR certified teams and later found in the same area. I made a list of examples a while back - it may be in the last thread, I don't remember.

Me watching their search videos: "He didn't even look under that tree!" "What about those rocks you just passed?" "Why don't you have a weedeater or walking stick?" "You can't see through grass!" "She's not even looking DOWN." "They are walking too fast." "They're too far apart!!!"

I agree. Serenity needs TXEQ. MOO

I agree, and it is why I have been vocal from the beginning when somebody says "if she was out there, she would have been found by now" - without realizing just how difficult and meticulous such a search requires. To be really thorough, it requires a painstakingly slow and "hands on" search. Even then, there is no way you can see and check everything.

IMO, her poor little body, at this point especially, would be so easy to walk right past.

The color of her clothes would not even stand out, taking on the color of the surroundings (IMO).

I honestly believe she's out there somewhere.

Wonder what the process is for Texas Equuasearch to become involved? An invite from LE? Family request (private search)? Not sure.

Here's the info from their website on what is required:

Special note: Texas EquuSearch can only accept a missing person case if it has been filed with the appropriate law enforcement agency, a case number has been assigned, and law enforcement gives their consent for Texas EquuSearch to become involved. Requests for Texas EquuSearch’s assistance must be made by the family of the missing person and/or the law enforcement agency handling the case. If the family requests our help, law enforcement MUST approve our assistance after the request is made by the family.

Family can request that they search but TXEQ would still require approval from LE before they become involved. MOO

I wish it was mushroom hunters(they rarely grow in the black hills), more than likely it will be people on a hike. I know people have been found before like that in the black hills(stumbles upon)
The weather has not been kind there this year. They are inundated with rain. Crazy amounts of hail that look like snow. So much moisture that they are having rock slides. If she’s out there she could be buried under dirt due to the rain and soul moving or just sinking in

Thank you both. This process makes sense and what I anticipated.
