Do you not agree that a 9 year olds body would not have been found at this point after the many massive searches? I mean how far could she have gotten that 100’s of searches and dogs have not found her.! She is 9 for goodness sake. I have to go with foul play at this point.

It has never made sense to me either. On one hand we heard she would have froze in a very short time period and could not have made it very far--then on the other hand, they have not found her anywhere within that "not making it very far radius". There are also so many other confusing or conflicting things. It is not the only case I have felt that way about though.

Someone knows where this child is. Either someone picked her up and knows it. Someone found her and knows it. Or she ran into the woods and someone knows it. Or she never left the grounds or building and someone knows it. Or if no one knows (which is impossible to believe) just where was everyone that should know?? SOMEONE knows.

Venting my frustration on her behalf, I think more than a few are feeling it... If you want to add to this feeling and get even more frustrated, try Amiah Robertson's case... :(

I think some of her clothing would have been found if wild animals got her, dead or alive. (Sorry) but finding nothing? Makes me think a wild person got her! I really hope they find her tucked into a hiding place in a sad way to get warm. But...she won’t be alive.

That is a good point. They would still find something, especially with all of the search dogs. They said they were optimistic for other searches, do you think they found anything (not her, but some clothing, etc.) or dogs alerted...? Would they tell us?

I know that it was reported they found some items that were from a child . It was the senators search but if it was anything of importance it would have been in msm I’m sure.

I would hope so, tattered clothes would leave you to an animal encounter conlusion. Yes, I hate typing that. But nothing.....is worse.

I will try to find the post it was strange and they said they found some children’s paraphernalia in the woods but didn’t specify what it was. I’ll get it to you .

Now that is interesting, I never heard that. We have been told it is a treacherous area for searching even--water, wildlife, hills, caves and so forth so no child would in those woods alone, and no one would let them be--so why would child's things be found? Are there any other children missing around the area? I sure hope not but wow. I hope they take a good look at whatever the items are... And at any other children missing... And at whether they could belong to Serenity...

Didn't a couple report seeing her outside shortly after she ran away or was that story dismissed? It's a real possibility that someone with bad intentions picked her up and took her but what are the chances that some evil person just happen to be driving by at the very time she ran away? If that did happen, the odds of ever finding her are slim to none unless they have something on the surveillance tapes they have from a few businesses. The situation that I keep coming back to is that she got cold rather quickly and went back. Did she hide when she got back or did encounter someone who was less than pleased that she had run away and things escalated.
A statement from the PCSO today was 'Sheriff Kevin Thom is committed to finding Serenity and plans will be made this week for the next stages of the investigation.' What do you suppose he means by that?

With regard to your first paragraph, the same things have crossed my mind--and more even. I spent a little bit of time today looking back at articles and info from the first two weeks. It has changed quite a bit...

As to your second paragraph, I don't know but I know I heard "parallel investigation" the other day from the Rapid City Police Chief (or read it), prior to that by some days I heard I believe from the sheriff that searching is going to happen but it is only one possibility/part of the investigation (paraphrasing, I do not call the exact words) and now we have what you just stated about "next stages"... Maybe they do not think she is in the woods... Or it is simply standard language meaning they are keeping all options open and looking at all...

Way back in the day I posted about the local sex offenders. It's the one in Keystone that is worrisome as Rockerville Rd is a way into Rapid City. After this Uber driver murder that appears to be random, I just feel like there are all sorts of bad people who would seize an opportunity like a 9 yr old alone on a deserted road.

Bringing forward this post by PommyMommy from Thread #2:

“The official search for Serenity Dennard will continue Wednesday, but on Sunday, State Sen. Lynne DiSanto called in volunteers for an unofficial search.

On Sunday, volunteers searching for Serenity Dennard combed through about 20 square miles, marking and photographing anything that stood out.

‘We had some very specific things that were found out on location. Some items that could be a child's item and those items were all flagged, pictured, and sent over to the sheriff's department to take a look and go out and look at them,’ says DiSanto.

If it relates to Serenity, and she truly ran, it would almost have to be something that fit in her pocket or clothing. Unless she had a backpack or something and we are unaware of it.

If it relates to some other child, it could be anything...

I know she did not have a backpack . In school protocol she would not have been allowed that. She probably was not allowed a jacket either. In programs such as ours they are not allowed because of chance of weapons. This may be why she did not have a jacket on. My kids are not allowed jackets because of weaponry.

A mountain lion would likely take its prey or meal to a more secure location. It would not stay near a road or building. If they haven’t found the boots, which is the best hope due to the rubber soles, she’s not nearby or not visible. They need to put up night vision field cameras in the area. Monitor for activity and locate the dens. Spring babies will be born soon. They better act fast because momma lion will kill you if you venture too close to her babies.

I don’t think so ..I think it’s worse than that

I actually think this is plausible but I also think they would have found her by now this was the case.
