Just checking to see if there was ANYTHING new with regard to Serenity. Any new searches planned? Looks like the weather tomorrow there will be ideal.

The Senator did a pod cast with a Psychic yesterday. The Psychic and her colleagues all feel that Serenity has passed. They also are of the opinion that they're searching in the wrong place. She's going to send the Senator a map, circling where they believe her remains are, and the Senator has said if LE doesn't search there, she'll form her own search party to search the location.

The Senator also stated that Serenity was wearing tennis shoes when she went missing. Someone contacted the host of the show and wanted to know why she said that, since everyone was under the impression she was wearing black boots.

The Senator said her information was that she was wearing tennis shoes and she requested that the person who stated she was wearing boots, forward that information to her. The reply from the host?

"I can forward it to you right now. It's on her missing poster"

I've never seen it said that she was wearing any other footwear other than black boots.

I am not endorsing the psychic thing but the boots only came from whomever at the home said that to 911, I am assuming. Many wondered why she would have boots on in a gym but no coat, etc. It later came out that 911 was not called when stated, protocol was not followed, etc.

To our knowledge, the only ones who could possibly know were the two alleged employees in the gym.

No camera nor pics have ever been reported nor shown nor is there knowledge there are any. No outside witness that we also have no idea of either has reported what they saw her wearing to our knowledge.

Not at the home, not at anyone, just saying for those of us on here and elsewhere, we have never seen her in the outfit reported.

We could be told she was in flip flops and a parka and we would have no evidence whether true or not. Boots and no coat and a gray shirt with flowers. Who knows. Three hats, two pair of socks and shorts with mukluks, who knows. Tennis shoes sure make more sense for gym time but who knows.

Again, nothing at anyone, but there has been not one bit shared with the public, maybe understandably so, that she was wearing what the public was advised.

A bit of a vent, sorry.

Tired of children going missing. Break time.

People should look at where they live. Put a two mile circle around their home. Then think of the reality of covering that kind of ground where the home is.

People are found sometimes, years later.

And now seeing with the Amanda Eller case that dogs are not necessarily reliable, I see how even more daunting it is

And now seeing with the Amanda Eller case that dogs are not necessarily reliable, I see how even more daunting it is

Yes, and Lizzy Shelley---less than a block from her home and they still didn't find her, although the area in which she was found was searched.

Good question. IMO, they (meaning an official search party organized through the Sheriff's office) might get to a point where they won't search until something credible happens. Example: clothing found, new witness statement made, etc. I don't believe they are there yet. With summer coming it will change the environment drastically. That's my thoughts.

I personally believe some unknowing person is going to happen upon her one day. You always feel for these people. Many times they aren't really sure what they are looking at but know it's wrong and out of place.

Yes, at least three times, and with dogs. Some have said that they were very close to where she was found, but didn't find her. In their defense, I don't think she was visible to the naked eye, even if they had looked in the debris.
Let me repeat: searching is NOT EASY and it very likely that no matter how hard you search, even as a team, there are spots or niches or some such that are missed. And while dogs are a huge help, it doesn't make it a sure thing.

Yes a 2 mile circle altho that's stretching it, maybe a mile and a half around that home. She certainly could not have gone farther in that weather. If not found, check again nearby residents. So what if they live a ways away, they still travel on these roads!!! Then check to see if any employee at that home quit after she went missing (hopefully they did this already?)

I do know this much about dog training, unless the tracking dogs were specifically trained for tracking, and practiced that training every single day for a few hours a day, they lose the drive for their work.

It is not unlike guide dogs for blind, they are useless if they are used as just well trained pets, and expected to "work" one or two days a month. All of the months of specialized training is completely wasted. It takes 18 months to 2 years to train a guide dog, and less than 6 months to dissolve that work into a pet.

BHCH is licensed as a locked facility - meaning locked from the outside so a person needs to be let in by someone or have a key/FOB. Legally, they cannot lock exit doors since they are not licensed that way. It is actually very typical of group homes and other Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities like BHCH, at least in SD and surrounding states.

19 people from @PennCoSheriff, @RapidCityPD & @PennCoSAR searched for Serenity Dennard today in advance of a weekend search by several specialized K9 teams. We did not find the 9 year old that went missing February 3 from the Black Hills Children’s Home.

Oh my I didn't know she couldn't get back in. Geez, sounds like a mental institution.

As I recently experienced, the "lock-out" is not unlike most public schools today.

After parking in a lot parallel lot to the building, I found out there was only one unlocked entrance which was the main front door, and one which still required you buzzed inside to the reception for visitor badging.

I must admit, I am a bit surprised that they haven't found her in all this time. If she was in plain sight, I'm sure they would have. But with all the bad weather, the massive amounts of snow, high winds, rains, etc., it seems fairly unlikely if she was out there that she would have stayed in place. I wouldn't be surprised if she was under debris and therefore undetectable to the naked eye.
Big weekend search planned, but there will be a lot of rain in the area, from what I can tell.
