All trails in Custer State Park leading up to Black Elk Peak were shut down on Tuesday for authorities to use heat sensing equipment to find Henckel, who is believed to be in the Black Elk Wilderness Area, according to a social media post from the sheriff's office.

The ground search and air search for Henckel stopped last night but were planned to resume Wednesday morning, according to a social media post. A dispatcher at the Custer County Communications Center said they did not know if the trails were open again today.
