''Remains were discovered on Seaburn beach near Queen’s Parade in Sunderland on Good Friday, the start of the Easter long weekend.

The previous month, on February 13, more suspected human remains were found on Marine Walk, near Roker Beach.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: ‘We have received reports of bones or suspected body parts being found at Seaburn and Roker beaches in Sunderland over recent weeks.''

How sad.
Do we agree this is probably a recent victim (whether drowning or otherwise) and not an older case?

Between 13 February and 8 April, the remains were discovered at Roker and Seaburn, in Sunderland.

Northumbria Police said it had now confirmed they belonged to missing Newcastle man Roy Johnson.

The force said it could not confirm how Mr Johnson died, but that the death was not being treated as suspicious.
