108000 images of CP is not a hobby or an addiction folks. That's a business. There is no way that is one man's collection. Organised Child abuse RINGS don't have that much media.

Child is a $3,000,000,000.00 Per Year Industry With Over 100,000 websites

In a very informative article appearing in the Detroit Free Press, reporter Tresa Baldas summarizes the state of child in the U.S. According to the article, “There’s a misconception in the public arena that these are mainly still images of children without clothes on. Well, the truth is that the majority of the pictures that are traded among these guys almost inevitably involve a child being either raped, or being forced to perform some type of sexual act on an adult or child.” “There’s this notion that it’s the creepy neighbor who lives in the basement of his parent’s house and downloads this stuff. Far from it.” “crouched on a bench in the federal courthouse in Detroit almost every week, seemingly normal people – doctors, coaches, authors, engineers, teens – are charged with making child , a $3-billion-a-year industry.”

There are currently estimated to be over 100,000 child websites where consumers can purchase child online. Not only is the volume of the child skyrocketing, so is the brutality of the images. According to the article, “not only are the kids getting younger, but the images are getting more graphic and violent. Children can be heard crying in some videos.”

yes you are correct that this was where on "the computer"{Grandmas}that the child pornographic image found in this computer. SINGULAR AS IN ONE IMAGE ON THE COMPUTER..

WHERE HE SPECIFIES THAT ITS SIMILAR TO ATLEAST ONE CP IMAGE ON HIS MOM'S..PLURAL AS IN MORE THAN ONE..but is it just 2? most importantly it "appears" TO HIM that its Child ..but its not discerned if its even an underage person{most likely a teen who could go either way..18+/-}..
so one image found on grandmas{I take it theres one iffy on grandmas pc} appears to be like atleast the same one of mom's{and plural that are iffy on mom's pc}..but they "appear" and none are proven to even be child ..

IMO this is why no one has been arrested..because its obviously a girl in photo that is a teen that could possibly be either or and until its proven that it is indeed a minor then of course no one could be arrested../

We don't know how many there are. It says child images. There is no qualification on that statement. It is clear he is stating that those are child images. Not maybe, not could be, not I"m not sure.

This is a sworn affidavit for search warrant by a computer forensic specialist. He stated what he stated. There is child on the mother's computer.

The only qualification is on the one that appears to have gone through email where it says appears to be. And it doesn't state that this one image is one of the ones he has already qualified as child . It could be one that they are unsure of, in the I don't know category. The point to this whole comment being that he was putting emphasis on the fact that Shawn was transferring media around in many ways and thus we need a warrant to search x, y and z. They were trying to prove this movement of media.

Reading this affidavit in full tells me *there was confirmed child on the computer*.

And, Law Enforcement does carefully word any document they know is going to be released under the Freedom of Information Act. They are not going to be specific.

I feel the same way I have felt since we heard about this activity of . That Shawn was in possession of some pretty nasty in voluminous amounts, and that it includes child which is against the law.

This document didn't change or diminish my opinion, but only reinforced it more. He was swapping this nasty stuff all over the place between electronic devices.

From what I understand in the affadavit, the LE officer was voluntarily given the opportunity to look at one computer in the grandmother's residence that SA was known to use back in February. The computer was not seized at that time but was "gone over" by the LE officer there in the home. And from what he was able to assess, there was not only the possibility that this computer connected an image of possible CP to the mother's computer which appears to have contained at least one image, but there were other computers and devices in the home that the officer did not have permission to look at.

So I believe that the affadavit was to obtain a search warrant for the premises and any and all computers and media devices that SA may have had access to. And with that search warrant, would they not have been able to seize the computers and media devices that they found for a more in depth look at them?

I have not thought about it this way..
If infact back in February Grandma gave LE consent to search her home computer that SA was known to use..that the officer ONLY VIEWED..SEARCHED..ACCESSED FILES THERE IN THE HOME FOR POSSIBLY A VERY LIMITED AMT OF TIME..AND THAT AS OF THE TIME OF THE AFFIDAVIT THAT GRANDMAS HOME COMPUTER{the one he states the image was found in the slack space[deleted email files of SA's]}HAD NOT BEEN REMOVED AND BEEN TAKEN FOR A FULL AND THOROUGH AND COMPLETE COMPUTER FORENSIC ANALYSIS..

meaning that he had only found 1 image during his limited search in Grandmas home of her computer..thus putting this info in the affidavit so that he may now seize the computer from the home and do the complete analysis at which time there could be more CP found??

This could change everything..God Kamille you're a genius for pointing this out to us that are questioning..

Now we have to wait to see what's on it..and I guess we will know if charges are filed..

Tho I am still not gonna make my mind up one way or the other until we fully know..Still whatever images have thus far been found "appear to him to be CP"..nothing for sure..I am just going to have to be patient and wait to see if its indeed child or is hot teen that Shawn is "into" and LE have found some girls as being borderline..age could go either way{18+/-}

The computer where the CP was found was his mothers computer, in the slack space, not his grandmothers.
There was child found in the slack space in the computer retrieved from Shawn Adkins mothers computer.

I am under the impression that they are looking for a subscription and login and password for any paid sites. Does anyone else have this impression?

Yes, they want everything.
Since they were only given consent by Shawn's grandmother to search a portion, sometime around Feb. 7 of her computer, the grandmother, They want the computer so they can check the slack space, for anything and everything that might pertain to child .

I'm sure that's just a standard clause in one of these electronic search warrants. It's referring to online data backup and storage services, like Mozy.com. There are websites you can subscribe to that give you space to backup all your files, in case your computer dies or so you can access your files from different locations. I was even provided that service by Dell when I bought my laptop but I've never used it. Notice that the clause also mentions e-mail. We all know e-mail is an online storage service that can be accessed from any computer connected to the internet. Basically they want to know any place Shawn was storing data, whether it's a computer or electronic device he used physically or somewhere online.

The next paragraph probably covers any subscription details to sites where it refers to any records pertaining to visual depictions of minors engaged in sexual activity.
