I know that but when they first pick up a scent they run like heck.. I am wondering if thats what this dog is doing because he is staying in the same area..

I do remember from the CA trial that the dogs will either sit or lie down when they have detected what they were supposed to. That is their "tell" to the trainer.

This news channel said a dog did hit on the Irwin car (which would make sense) and that that search is just to rule things out. The other search they will talk about later. This is not live from the search right now, it is just the live local news. (I can't get the other links to work on this computer.)

A cadaver dog or a tracking dog? My pooter won't load this site and it says I need Silverlive to watch the live search, but it won't load that either...ugh. Edit: Finally it worked!!!

Dog handler took the dog right through the back yard all the play equipment, under the porch, the caravan, the big shed, a white car and a 4 wheel drive.

Oriah... I didn't see a scent article but I could be blind LOL... the feebie has on white gloves though... do you still need a scent article with a cadaver dog???

Don't know, Oriah. The dog is now inside the home, though, which is why helicopter has switched to view of searchers in creek behind the home.

Looked like dog was excitedly circling the garage, but I don't know what, or IF, that means anything. They then took the dog inside the garage for awhile, dog came out and immediatedly went back behind the garage and hopped around a pile of what looks like wood or something.

HTH (but it probably doesn't).

ETA: Wait...I did see something in the handler's hand. Looked like white fabric? I just assumed it was part of normal handling...treat or something. (don't laugh at me)

God another day where I have nothing done and still in my PJ's. I paused the megyn kelly interview to watch this live on here and I am ready to take a tranquilizer myself. My nerves are shot. If they dont find her today then I dont know what will happen.

I see they have the metal detectors at the creek but why not cadaver dogs too I wonder. They can smell through the water too.
