Transients definitely by the river. It was beautiful out that night, but chilly. So yes it is very possible transients starting the dumpster fire by the river if that is where you were going. Not so much at townhouses, but not impossible.

That's where I was going, In da Middle- thank you. (I love locals!)

I don't particularly like to type this, but it's surprising how many transient/homeless persons find bodies in dumpsters. Is there a homeless 'community' by the river (or anywhere along the route(s) of travel possibly taken by someone leaving the residence in a vehicle?)
TIA.

Can cadaver dogs still hit on a body of water like the river?

A water search dog can, but depending upon a LOT of circumstances. They scent off of decomp gases that rise or are at the surface of bodies of water that come from a deceased human. But a lot of factors play into that, such as current, depth, wind speed and direction, stagnacy of body of water, amount of time individual has been in the water etc. They also need to be brought to the likely site, just like all SAR dogs. HTH.

Thanks! I was assuming that everything would have to line up perfectly for a search dog to be able to hit on a body of water like that. I am also assuming that the river looks quite large and probably is not stagnant, and I'm assuming anything that was thrown in would have been taken by the current. Okay my heart won't let me think about that any further.... thanks for the answer though :)

Are there searches today!

Can someone tell me how many bridges there are from Irwin home to this address?

International Paper Co

Is this anywhere near where they are searching the river?

You're welcome- and sorry goldringstx. :(
I know it's never what anyone wants to think about.

On the 'upside' (if there is such a thing when it comes to search and recovery- 'upside' meaning a family needs closure and a mission has gone from rescue to recovery) water search dogs also often work from banks, and if, say, someone was a drowning victim in a swiftly moving river, and has been caught up in something close to shore (such as debris) then one can sometimes have luck by looking at water patterns, weather, water traffic, etc to aid in recovery.

Hopefully none of that is the case with Lisa.

There have been several camps by the river but the railroad uproots them occasionally. They basically have the 'easement' if that is the proper term in this circumstance.

You could take 435 or Chouteau. This is on the Blue River. Not understanding why this address. Can you explain, please?

Before Harrah's went in, the Chouteau Bridge would have been a logical 'drop spot'. Now it has traffic and patrols 24/7 for the most part. All of the bridges crossing the river are well lit for traffic.

Seems like today is very quiet, does anyone know if there are any searches going on today. I cannot imagine that there arent unless they think they searched everything possible. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on or being today is GJ day, maybe they are putting off any searches until they look at the media footage for more clue's. I feel like this baby just disappeared off the face of the earth..

Perhaps a search around DB's father's home. We hear a lot about her grandparents, DLN, Sr. but what about father's home? (DLN, Jr.) Has his property been searched?

What about areas around her teenage home...like the same kinds of places that they are searching in her current neighborhood...places where teens hang/hung out when DB lived there. It appears that it is just about 10 or 15 miles from Kansas City, MO to Independence, MO. Seems that could easily be done in 1.5 hours between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM on a Monday?

No need to thank me Oriah, that's why I'm here. :seeya:

In reference to the water and metal detectors, the only part we know for sure is the creek area that they drained, manually drug the mud out and then used metal detectors on.

I counted 31 bridges..

here is the map for Lisa Irwin:

It does not look like they have searched down that far, as far as we know...
In the Kansas City are there are the Broadway Bridge, Heart of America Bridge, Bond Bridge (aka Paseo), Chouteau Bridge 435 and then in Independence there is 291 Bridge. That is all that cross the Missouri River here (dont think I missed any). Blue River is south and runs into the Missouri.

I can't imagine there wouldn't be either. They have been out every single day so far.

I emailed the KC FBI with that tip last week. For those interested I posted info in scanner chatter a couple weeks ago.

A couple of notes.

Just because it is not public information, does not mean there are not searches going on. It happens all the time, so rest assured that they are likely happening even if we're not hearing about them.

In terms of bridges and other places with high visibility for dumping grounds. Don't discount those areas just for those reasons. People do it all the time. Sadly experience has taught me that.
