Searching around Kyron's home

  • #61
Hi Kimster, It has been on my mind too when I try to put myself in Terri's mind. :innocent:

I think he is buried back aways behind their house. I've thought that ever since I've learned that Logie Trail Rd goes very close to the back part of their acreage. I read that in a post here. Then I saw a sattelite map over the weekend with their house, big trees behind it that opened up into a wide big clearing. I also think this because she might feel safer knowing no one would probably expect her to put him so close by. She'd know what's up all the time with the burial spot as she'd probably hear it if cars showed up at the area, a place where cars normally never are.

I can't find that map now :banghead: and since maps are my worst subject in Sleuthing I haven't even tried to bring up a new one. What I need to find out is what access is there to that acreage behind their house. What is at the end of their road where it dead ends? Are there any trails there or old logging roads in the area?

The other possibility in my mind Kimster is that he is maybe buried off Logie Trail Rd in the area of the farm where Dede lived in 2005.

As in so many cases we've studied here I believe Kyron will be found very close by, just as you suggest.

Also, in this case we haven't learned allot on where the dogs were taken, right? I guess we just have to trust LE. If they feel it is warranted they have or will bring dogs to these areas.

This whole post confuses me.
The Horman property in no way backs Logie
Trail road. DS's grandfathers property on Bishop road in no way backs Logie Trail road. sorry.

They did do searches didn't they?

It is very common for the suspect to place the body of their victim in their comfort zone. Some experts that I have heard say it is about a 5 mile radius from where the victim went missing while I have heard detectives say it can be within a 20 mile radius.

If Terri Horman was as much of a CSI buff as has been touted about, then she would know that imo and she would take him way out of the area that was familiar where he is not in the immediate vicinity.

That is why I couldn't understand them searching around the school so many times and even returning or around their home. She knew these were the two places LE would search thoroughly and since he has not been found going on 8 weeks now I do not believe he is in the area of this community.

Her missing gap in her time line is about an hour and a half, right? So how many miles would she be able to travel in 45 minutes and then travel back taking 45 minutes to return?

JMO

Good point. There were two sightings of Kyron on Hwy 26 that got turned into tip line...albeit only one got a call back two days later with a "thank you" and doubtful any follow up.

Thanks Cyclemama for that info. I read it here in posts and assumed it was correct.

Do you know if there are any roads that give access to the treed area south of the Horman house or in the area where Sheltered Nook dead ends?

I'm going to have to go pull a map again as I haven't seen one for awhile. Ta

Hi Palladore, Great to meet you and WELCOME to WS ;}

You are so right about the wooded terrain out there and I agree there could be many spots one could find that match your description of the terrain ~ even back behind the school where there are 300' dropoffs into gullies.

Being almost a lifetime resident here it seems most bodies found that are ditched in the woods are like 100' or so off a hwy or logging road. I think it might be that the perp is going to have to carry or drag a body a ways and still have it accessible by car. 100' seems to be the magic number.

It would still be hard work to heave a body over an embankment, like you say so it clears all the debris.

I don't know if a woman would choose an embankment scenario but rather the other and dragging the body as far off the road as one's strength would allow. Hiding it under a log and vegitation would be my guess. Digging in virgin ground could be a major task in itself.

Just thoughts - I have no idea where he was put but do appreciate your post. xox

Every time we have hiked in Forest Park I make a comment to my husband how easy it would be to hide a body out there. It's extreme woods for sure. I know Forest Park has been brought up before but hoping they've searched that area extemely well.

P.S. Just wanted to also say on your "digging" in virgin ground comment that as you know, we had quite the wet Spring this year. Maybe the ground was soaked enough to make digging easier.

P.P.S. This entire thread about digging and bodies makes me sad!:(

Is there a certain place the family buried their pets on the property???
(thinkng of KC and her pets)

I was thinking along the lines of if the pets showed any unusual behavior, or particular interest in certain areas of the property.

Are any searches going on today???

Kimster? Isnt the time line wrong for Kyron? creepy story, guy does not look creepy which is creepy.

Any body builders here? I wonder what she could have learned during body building practice? Im sure fellow body builders have been talked too though. a

just rambling here but. We pass and brush close thousands of times with SO, Murders, Child Abusing adults and we never notice. Its hard to think that no one noticed stepm, Kyron and a white truck leave the parking lot., but yet......we do it all the time.

How do we know that she left the school at 8:45? I dont think we do. She could have left earlier.

I think the grocery store has been id'd that she went shopping in. right? that store if big enough of a store, should have had a copy of her receipt. telling the exact time. I assume LE has that info.

The Diver sticker being removed from that car brought up an idea....who was interested in diving/scuba? Get scuba gear, drive to preplanned spot, put on gear and go underwater to hide the body. Maybe she saw tv when they showed the block and rope they thought Haleigh had been tied too. I really think this woman has above average strength to do things we might not think of. Poor little Kyron. if gone to be with God, I pray his death was quick.

Does anyone know the name of the landscaper's (DeDe) company? Also, where do landscapers dump in that area? Do they go to the landfill or do they go to a landscape supply company that accepts grass, branches, etc? I work for a company that accepts recyclables (branches, grass, used sod, etc), and those piles get friggin' HUGE...easy to hide a body in :(

Just throwing my :twocents: out there. :cow:

OR, what if TH did the deed, then handed him off to DeDe to finish? Makes me sick to type that, ugh!

Great points, Deep Thinker. I think it is likely that TH asked DD to finish. From reading DD's blog, it's obvious that she is a fanatical PLANNER. She made detailed plans for everything she did, even the smallest things, to an extreme extent. So I would not be surprised if this was planned and researched ahead of time, down to the smallest detail. If so, I am hoping that her computer searches will reveal some of what was intended.

Sad to say. My only hope is that over-planning will result in the pair outsmarting themselves.

Hi orb4me - wondering what car the diver sticker was removed from? Don't remember hearing about that and I came across some kind of fine someone had regarding an expired scuba license. Can't remember who it was right now, but I'm curious. Thanks in advance.

LE and KH have both said that the property has been searched repeatedly. It takes a very, very long time for the traces of disturbed earth to disappear (literally thousands of years), so if he's in a grave on the property, it would show up.

Dogs can detect bodies underground.

bbm

Yes, they can IF they are searching in the "right" area...that's what is bothering me...is LE doing all they can in the actual search for Kyron...?

I also wonder if LE have notified private property owners near & surrounding the Horman's neighborhood & Skyline School to take the time to look on their properties for anything out of place or unusually disturbed.

If LE has this...nobody can search unless we say so attitude...it could take forever for Kyron to be found...and most likely the way most are...by a hiker, jogger or property owner...by accident!

I believe that LE is doing everything within their power to find Kyron, but there is so large of an area to be searched. Where does it end? How can one be sure that no inch of terrain is missed, when not all of it is even within reach of searchers? I understand that there are several areas which are heavily wooded, cliffs with deep ravines, and also water, water everywhere. Like looking for a needle in a haystack, and this is about a small defenseless little boy whose biggest fear seemed to be that he would be helpless without his prescription glasses.
I am assuming that Terri pre-selected a spot that was going to be difficult, if not impossible to cover within a given amount of time and manpower. If she never says another word about where Kyron is, will he ever be found. Poor, poor little lost soul.

I am a "newbie" here at Websleuths but have been a faithful follower of Websleuths since the first day of Lacie Peterson's murder. I FINALLY figured out how to register!! With that said, with regard to little Kyron, I DO NOT think Kyron was EVER at school on June 4. I think his backpack was planted in his classroom early the evening before the Science Fair. I also think that the infamous picture of Kyron with his Science Fair project was taken the evening BEFORE the Science Fair. I think maybe TH was seen at the school in her truck but, again, I DO NOT think Kyron was there the morning of the Science Fair. He said goodbye to Kaine and she put Kyron in the truck early, and got rid of him. I think, as a previous posted stated, that he is in an airtight container. I think Kyron, in the container, was handed off to her friend, maybe, but I am not totally convinced of this either. It makes me sick, but I don't think he is with us, but I pray I am wrong. Also, per the other poster, maybe TH and her friend planned a life together; who knows, and that is why her friend helped. Love does crazy things. With this said, I think TH had more than enough time to dispose of Kyron early in the morning of the science fair after leaving his home. IMOO.

Yes, it would be helpful to know the latest time a reliable witness reports having seen Kyron at school.

They are asking children when they last saw Kyron. I don't think most children have a good concept of time except for "recess" or "lunch". Sorry, not being funny, but how many parents really paid attention to a little boy walking around and then looked at their watches and said "Gee, it's 8:45 a.m. and there is Kyron . . . I don't think so.

Being a parent of three grown children and being a Mom who attended several Science Fairs, I truly never paid attention to whether I saw a child unless one of my children introduced a friend a to me. I mean, MAYBE, if I saw a picture of a child, I could recall that child, but then to put a face to a time would be difficult after the fact.

This is a very interesting concept. She could have taken the picture at an earlier time, then, on the day of the Science Fair, come in by herself, make sure she was seen, make vague comments about a doctor's appt. and then leave. This would ensure that no one would see her leaving with Kyron because he never came in that morning.

I can't recall if anyone said that they'd seen them together, although I think there have been witnesses who placed both of them there. I'm not really sure anymore at this point!:waitasec:

and with the excitement of the Fair and showing their own projects, more than likely they were concentrating on themselves and their presentations.

I have following this case from the first announcement on abc.news.go.com on the first day Kyron was announced as missing. Then when I saw the family together, especially, the birth Mother and the Step-Mother, my hinky meter went of immediately with the SM. She was trying so hard to make her supposed sadness look realistic, but her cover was blown for me immediately. Kyron's Mom was so terribly upset (as I would expect her to be) and the SM was trying to look so caring, and for me, it was all show. She has supposedly failed two Lie Detector Tests and her story has changed multiple times and LE seems to be dragging their feet. I just don't get it. I would be a MANIAC looking for my child. I would be harassing the SM until she talked. My child is MISSING and I am just sitting there waiting for someone to make a move. This is just so FRUSTRATING for me to read every day. I am hoping again hope that little Kyron is alive. Maybe SM figured if she got rid of Kyron and then put out a contract on Kaine, she would end up with benefits from Intel (Kaines work), plus a lawsuit with the school ahe would be set financially. She would get the house, plus SS benefits. She is one sick puppy IMOO.

Warning theory alert:

Bouncing off a previous post in the thred, Candyland I have thought of that as well.

:blushing: I too had the theory that if TH did put a hit out on Kanie six months ago, maybe she found out that she is NOT the sole benificery of his life insurance..K and baby K is? Put a hold on that hit because if Kanie was gone baby K and K could be the ones listed. Half of the money would go to the person responisable for the older child (his birth mother most likely) and most likely she would have to work through Desiree to arrange visitation with K.

So....hold that thought...

If the situation was that one child was missing first at some point they would find his body (if he isn't with us) or declare him legally dead. If the hit on her husband was to make it look like a suicide or accident that makes her a twice victem. The money is hers now as she is his wife and baby K is his sole benificary. She wouldn't have to deal with Kanies exwife or share any money with her.

She would win all the way around, grieving mom and widow and sole beneficary in the end when the dust clears. Just a theory nothing more, nothing less.

People say what is the motive? So just offering a possiable motive that could be concidered.

Please excuse my spelling errors and grammer in advance. Thank you.
