Quotes from the 🤬🤬🤬’s manifesto.

I reread it not so much to look for lies and discrepancies (too many to count or care about), but instead for the points the 🤬🤬🤬 included that might be responses to what thought the evidence might be against her.

What I also found, though, are IMO hints about why she murdered him (among other details) that I think she included out of satisfied spite.
(Paraphrased, unless in quotes).

“Certain of these details (written here) were never meant to be known to the public. Under normal circumstances they were intended to be kept private between myself and the individuals with whom they concern, but since much of my life has been thrust under a microscope, I feel it necessary to set some records straight.”

“I would like to make it clear to the reader that it is not my intention to malign the character of anybody in any way. (…) up to this point I have been very careful to protect Travis’s reputation and my own. I make record of this now because the nature of my relationship with Travis has been and will continue to be, under scrutiny.

It would be futile now to attempt to conceal such details, and unrealistic to expect that our relationship will not be further probed and the results made publicly available."

"In addition, these are matters that will be discussed, examined, and cross examined, and I do not wish to wait for due process until I am to be unburdened of that which I have made the mistake of trying to bear alone.”

(She was already more than half way there to her trial story of suffering in silence as Travis’s victim, that story, years afterwards, she said was “forced” to tell because TA’s family refused to accept her plea offers. BTW, she said in her piece of work that she intended the entire thing be published (back then) on an "approved" website).

FROM THE 🤬🤬🤬’s “MANIFESTO”

The 🤬🤬🤬 on Cancun: (I never expected to go, we never discussed it, I didn’t know he was taking Mimi until I was told that at his memorial service).

“It was a bittersweet piece of information. Sweet because I knew he must have been happy to have succeeded in getting the “girl of his dreams” (literally) to accompany him on this long anticipated trip. Bitter because it was a trip he’d never take. “

(….) “We can be comforted to remember Travis has embarked on a journey that dwarfs what would have been a trip to merely south of the border.”

🤬🤬🤬, in section titled “Emails.”

I can’t deny that I read Travis’s emails, but there is an explanation for that. Travis read mine first, in early 2007. I had sent an email to (Abe), essentially a Dear John letter, and I told Travis about it, who responded by feeling delighted.

Then Travis, a few days later, surprised me in the middle of the night by driving from Mesa to Palm Springs and knocking on my door. I went to the bathroom to put on makeup, and while I was gone Travis got on my computer and read not just that email, but all the emails I had exchanged with (Abe), and then he confronted me.

A week later I decided to surprise him in the same way, so I drove to Mesa and showed up at his house in the middle of the night, unexpected. We spent the weekend together. We were hanging out, looking at “plasticized bodies” on the internet, and Travis got up to clean his bedroom.

While he was doing that I clicked the back button, but must have clicked it too many times, because I came across his MySpace email inbox.

It was too tempting to resist, and besides, he’d read mine first, so “what the heck.” I was shocked at what I read, because some of the scandalous exchanges were with married women, but I decided they were inconsequential and didn’t confront Travis about them.

I did tell Sky, thinking she’s keep quiet about it, but Sky told Hollie who told Travis, and Travis brought it up with me. He wasn’t extremely angry about it, no doubt because he was guilty of doing the same thing.

Another “incident” happened in fall 2007, when Travis was at Temple and I was in his house on his computer, paying my bills. I didn’t read his email, but he had left his Google mail account open because he was composing an email to a judge about an overdue traffic ticket (“ok, this much I read”).

“Each time I got on, bringing his computer out of hibernation mode, it showed his Gmail status online.” I knew Gmail well enough to know that if I wanted to read his emails again I could do it without being detected by setting the status to offline."

But, Travis later accused me of reading his email because a friend of his asked him about being online (when he couldn’t have been). We argued about it, and I left very upset, determined never to use his computer again, although he had told me I could use it anytime, but then he called me while I was still driving, apologized, and told me to come back.

After that, it was Travis who came up with the idea of exchanging passwords in order to begin to rebuild trust. He gave me his Facebook and MySpace passwords- they were both Denver77--and I gave him my FB and Gmail passwords. I regretted doing so as soon as I offered, but “Travis wouldn’t let me back out.”

Exchanging passwords didn’t really work-“if anything I think it only created unnecessary problems.”

Travis also asked me about a “dubious email” sent to Lisa, which I thought was curious since I didn’t even know about her at the time, but I told him he could easily trace the IP address of the computer it was sent on. I don’t know if he checked, and he never brought it up again, “ but the source can still be verified” as not my computer, and “it most likely didn’t come from any computer I had access to.”

There is SO MUCH here--the surprise visit in the middle of the night, looking at "plasticized bodies" (Daft video?), TA getting up to clean, the waking his comouter from hibernation and seeing his open Gmail account (all references to June 4?), as well as all the contradictions in her lies then and afterwards about that email she never sent to Abe, but for now...she's obviously thinking about the times she got caught that other people know about, and she's making TA responsible for being the first to snoop, and the one who insisted on giving her access to his emails.

🤬🤬🤬, refuting reality and the evidence, point by point...

🤬🤬🤬: I realized, after studiously reading and absorbing the Book of Mormon Travis gave me that “to my great surprise, my beliefs were very much on harmony with Mormon doctrine.”

MESSAGE: (I didn’t convert to Mormonism because I wanted Travis to marry me, I converted because I was already a Mormon spiritually, and just wasn’t aware of that surprising fact).

-------------------------

🤬🤬🤬: I decided to move out of my Palm Desert house in May 2007. The inevitability of my having to move had been known for a long while, so Travis had been trying to convince me to move to Mesa. His only concern about my moving there was about how jealous and upset Deanna would be, that it would be “WWII” if she found out.

Something was off enough about the Deanna thing and so much else that I actually decided to move to Big Sur instead, but Travis, being the ever persuasive one I couldn’t say no to, finally convinced me to move to Mesa.

MESSAGE: I wasn’t obsessed with Travis, ever, and didn't stalk him. In fact, he had to convince me to move to Mesa just weeks after I broke it off with him, so I did, even though my gut told me not to go. Travis’s only objection to my moving wasn’t about me, it was about destabilizing his unbalanced ex-girlfriend Deanna.

--------------------------------------------
🤬🤬🤬: I broke up with TA about those texts of his I read, and when I did, he proposed to me. “I used to wonder what it would have been like if I had instead accepted his proposal, but I do not think his behavior would have changed.”

MESSAGE: I had no motive to murder Travis. He never rejected me-ever. He wanted to marry me, but I didn’t want to marry him.

“The truth is I held back a lot in our relationship, never fully giving my heart over.”

(The wondering she refers to, btw, is expressed in her journal, not as wondering, but as realization and anger at herself (briefly felt, then dismissed) for blowing it by snooping his texts).

--------------------------------------
🤬🤬🤬: In January 2008 I made tentative plans to return to CA, largely because I missed my family, but also because I could see things weren’t going to change with TA if I stayed, that is, our messing around, because he wouldn't stop and I wasn't strong enough to refuse him, even though it was hurting us spiritually).

MESSAGE: I didn’t leave because Travis told me in January, after he confessed to his bishop, that he wanted me to get out of Mesa so he could get right with the Church. Leaving was my choice, because as a good Mormon I valued family tremendously and realized after visiting my family for Christmas just how much I missed mine, and BTW, it was me who cared about not jeopardizing our spiritual well-being, not Travis.

-----------------------------
🤬🤬🤬: That come clean conversion, after I told Travis about the guys I’d been seeing, was one of the 2 times Travis “became violent with me.”

The second time was a few days before leaving Mesa (doesn’t say why). “Both times he refrained from hitting me in the face, but he bruised other parts of my body.”

MESSAGE: I had no motive to kill Travis. He still wanted me in his life, we were still making travel plans together, and it was he, not I, who felt jealous, even to the point of being violent. I didn’t make a big deal about his abusing me at the time, because that’s how DV victims are, so I just allowed him to be abusive towards me, even violent, but especially verbally, without ever getting angry myself, much less violent.

-----------------------------

🤬🤬🤬: I’d made travel plans for June 2-6. Travis learned of my travel plans A WEEK BEFORE MY DEPARTURE and suggested I scrap those plans and drive to Arizona instead to see him.

MESSAGE: Travis didn’t mean what he wrote in that May 26 Gmail chat and texts, because right afterwards --which can’t be proven or disproven--he told me by phone he wanted me to come visit him in Mesa.

The 🤬🤬🤬 on Lisa and on the slashed tires. The tires--what she always, through May 26, took special care to deny to Travis ever doing, and, that she didn't know about Lisa until spring 2008 has always been one of her loudest refrains..

🤬🤬🤬: We had a come clean conversation a few months before leaving Mesa. That’s when I found out about Lisa.

MESSAGE: I absolutely, completely and totally did not know about Lisa until AFTER Travis broke up with her for the last time, in February. Which means that I OBVIOUSLY couldn’t have slashed her tires, or slashed TA’s tires because he wanted to marry her, or stalked her, or have even been jealous of her, because I absolutely did not know about her when Travis was involved with her.

And, it was TRAVIS who told me about Lisa (not a stranger in the restaurant where I worked). And he told me in a come clean conversation because he had indirectly and sometimes directly lied to me by not telling me about her before, which he felt bad about.

And to be perfectly clear about this, I didn’t feel angry or jealous about Lisa at all. I felt sorry for her, because Travis was cheating on her with me the whole time he was with her, which meant he never really loved her at all, and neither of us knew about the other. We were both his victims.

--------------

🤬🤬🤬: In a section devoted entirely to the topic of tires:

“The tires on Travis’s BMW were slashed-twice!! I told Travis to file a police report but he didn’t want to. I was actually sitting with Travis on his office chair when he called Samantha about the tires, but he told me to be quiet so she didn’t know that.

Samantha actually thought I might have slashed the tires, but Travis believed me that I didn’t, especially after I freely offered to take a lie detector test. He would sometimes bring the tire thing up when we argued, but afterwards, after the “inevitable apologies,” he would put his hands on my shoulders, directly into my eyes, and say- “ Jodi, I know you didn’t slash my tires, and I’m sorry.”

“Even if I were capable of sinking to a level as to commit such a small-minded crime as vandalizing someone’s car, I wouldn’t have chosen his BMW.” The eight tires cost $1,000 to replace, money Travis needed for his “formidable mortgage” that he couldn’t afford to pay.

(The slashed tires) cost ME financially, because Travis couldn’t afford to pay me for cleaning his house, and he had to borrow money from everyone, including me, and I “lent him every last dollar to my name.”

(Notice how she works in that Travis was so broke he had to borrow money to make mortgage payments on a house she obviously (though not to her, I suspect) thinks he couldn't afford, but out of pride or whatever insisted on keeping, unlike her, who understood she couldn't afford her own mortgage and had so graciously given it back to the bank. And...her anger in texts and her journal about TA's financial difficulty in January is put in better perspective, that Travis couldn't pay her because of the cost of her slashing his tires....).

🤬🤬🤬, in section titled "Our Arguments."

We argued. A lot. About silly things, like how I packed my suitcase, and more often, about things that made Travis worry for my safety. But then there were confusing things, like why Travis would object to who I dated. “Sometimes it seemed like I was just his whipping girl, an outlet for his pent up frustrations. Other times it seemed like he called me with the sole mission to bring me down and ruin my day filling it with negativity.”

ButÂ…he always was so sweet with his apologies, and I always forgave him, because it is commanded of me, and because the apologies were too sweet to refuse to accept.

“He said one day he would be held accountable not just for his actions, but for every word ever uttered from his lips.”

(The "ruin my day" reference is exactly what Travis texted her shortly after she left Mesa and he began asserting himself more about her intrusions, and the "filling my day with negativity" is very similar to what TA wrote in his last journal, about why it felt so good that she had finally left Mesa, a journal she couldn't have read before June 3/4).

🤬🤬🤬, in the middle of another long winded rationale.:

(Is she referring to the late night May 9 text fight, in which she “accidentally” sent him a text intended for Steve Carroll accusing TA of snooping her MySpace account? )

Travis repeatedly called her a liar on the 9th, brought up the fact she hadnÂ’t paid him a dime for the BMW, and told her she was unprincipled for planning an expensive trip when she owed him so much money, etc.

She kept twisting the conversation to imply Travis’s anger was because he felt jealous of (fictional) Steve. It was at the end of this text fight that TA told her he was out of patience and mercy, and that things were going to begin to get “tough” for her, and according to what she said at trial, it was just after this fight that they had phone sex (technically on May 10).

🤬🤬🤬: “I remember a particular late night conversation after I’d moved to Yreka when he was very short with me, again bringing up the subject of other guys. He was interrogating me with one question after another over things we’d already been over and that I thought we’d long since resolved.

I was left feeling a lot less happy than before he called, so I called him back and said my piece. His demeanor had completely softened and he sounded sleepy. He apologized (of course) and said he was just frustrated because he was lonely and things weren’t moving along in his dating life as he’d hoped. I sympathized with him. We both wanted each other to be happy. I assumed he was talking about Mimi, but I didn’t ask questions. I just listened.”

------------------------------
BTW. Mimi had on May 1 agreed to go with Travis to Cancun. Travis had a date with her lined up for the next night, May 10, and was feeling OK about where things stood.

Of course, the 🤬🤬🤬 couldn’t acknowledge knowing any of that, eh?

On the other hand, May 9 is when he texted the 🤬🤬🤬 she was “dead” to him, just after being texted by C. Lay that she hadn’t received any of his texts after their rendezvous at his house on May 1.

And a few days before, on May 5, was when Sean was setting up an online account for TA (blog related?) and asked TA what he wanted for a password for a security question.

TA replied: use “Riverside” (where he was born), for the security question, and texted Sean:

“Hmmmmmmmmm. let’s do Denver 77 for the password.”

Later that day, May 5, his brand new Tshirt business website that he shared with Taylor was hacked into.

Barf...

I am now speculating that 🤬🤬🤬 was at TA's 3 times on the day of the murder.

1. Get into his computer when he was upstairs. Maybe wakes TA up. He tells her to get lost. She goes away but maybe just to his car in the garage, journal in hand.

2. She returns. Gets his camera, interrupt him while he's resting. Have sex. They delete the sexphotos since he wants nothing to do with them or this whole scene. He asks her to leave. She leaves, stealing his camera.

She is absolutely livid, since being a sex partner has got her nowhere, she's not wanted, and TA is clear he can't stand to have her around.

3. She returns while he is in the shower. She might even have heard the shower water from outside the house, and she knew he liked to have a shower right after sex. (This time, he did a few things first, to cleanse 🤬🤬🤬 out of his life.) By now, TA is extremely rattled and afraid: he has sent her away twice already, and she has left in a rage both times.

The email to Chris may have just been TA unfocused, afraid, and just getting back to CH without saying anything meaningful. He was under duress.

Naps may not have barked because 🤬🤬🤬 was coming and going all day.

The roommate might not have heard 🤬🤬🤬 because she simply wasn't there at that particular time.

A third unexpected visit from 🤬🤬🤬 in one day would have been profoundly more terror-provoking than just two, or even the one JM went for.

How would 3 appearances square with the timeline? It works, right?

Wow, extraordinary. I wonder why the DT didn't include all this puke in their defense strategy..... Bwahahaha...

IMO no way she leaves once she's in his home. She's spent a lot of time and a considerable amount of her very limited money to drive there to kill him. She's not going to, IMO, leave and hope he's still there when she returns. Plus she has very little leeway as far as fuel. Is she driving around Mesa aimlessly? Having to stop somewhere she may be captured on a surveillance cam?
JMO but she got there around 4am. The pug either barked or didn't. Only her word that he didn't. IMO he heard her enter, then recognized her and was calm.

(….) “We can be comforted to remember Travis has embarked on a journey that dwarfs what would have been a trip to merely south of the border.”

The DT Is all about dwarfs and absurd claims....

Here's my latest best guess, in part based on what she wrote in the letter to his family and the manifesto:

She waited, lurking outside, until Travis went upstairs and to bed. She brought the computer out of hibernation, saw that he'd been watching the Daft videos, opened and read his gmails. She stayed in his office until both Enrique and Zach left, then had free reign of the house and snooped to her heart's content, including finding and reading his journal. She answered the text sent by Chris, just after noon, then woke Travis up, telling him she's just arrived, that she knocked on the front door, but that no one answered, so she came on in, and was surprised to see him in bed so late.

She had already laid the groundwork for not freaking him out totally by being there, and she did that in the June 2 call to him, "confessing" everything to him, as he had demanded she do on May 26, and telling him she was at last ready to move on, and in fact, was going to leave shortly on a trip to Utah to meet up with Ryan Burns. She may have mentioned she had a check for him for the car, and the handwritten book chapter he had asked her to return, and that she'd mail them to him.

When she woke him up she told him she was on her way to Ryan's house but realized she wanted to apologize to him in person and to give him the check and chapter directly. Travis isn't comfortable with her being there, but feels guilty now that she is being so sincerely apologetic. She suggests having sex and taking photos on his camera, so now he can use them against her with Ryan if she steps out of line.

They have sex, and he is ready for her to go, but she keeps stalling. He tells her he needs to start cleaning, and gets out the floor cleaner. He's trying to get her out of the house. She does leave, but only because Travis has mentioned Zach might be coming back anytime from dropping off his rental car. She isn't in the house when Zach returns. She's lurking outside again, waiting for Zach to leave.

She comes back after Zach leaves, telling Travis she forgot to (fill in the blank), and that she has the CD's she wants to show him. It's about 4:15. She's scratched them so it isn't possible to see the photos, and she's done that to keep Travis off balance. He just wants her to leave. He checks his emails, sends one around 4:45. She still isn't getting the hint. He tells her he needs to take a shower and get ready for his conference call.

Maybe he thinks she's left again. He goes upstair to take a shower. She either sneaks back in, or tells him she'll wait downstairs until he's finished, or tells him she'll let herself out. Instead, she waits until she hears him in the shower then goes up to the loft, carrying his camera bag where he'd returned the camera earlier, takes it out, and sees that he's already deleted the sex photos. She walks into the bathroom where he has shaved, and is then finishing up his shower (no evidence of soap or shampoo in shower photos), telling him...just one more thing, reminding him that she'd promised to redo the "shaving photo shoot," but given that he's already shaved, perhaps a Calvin Klein in the shower photo shoot instead, given how impressive his Cancun body looks. He agrees....anything to get her out of the house, and he is beginning to (or is still feeling) a sense of apprehension that she isn't on her way, given she onky meant to stop by briefly, and Ryan is waiting for her.

Maybe.

But…he always was so sweet with his apologies, and I always forgave him, because it is commanded of me, and because the apologies were too sweet to refuse to accept.

QThe "suitcase" line might refer to the backpack snit.

On the other hand, she might be covering for an incident that didn't make it to trial. Had TA noticed a weapon in her suitcase on another occasion?

IMO no way she leaves once she's in his home. She's spent a lot of time and a considerable amount of her very limited money to drive there to kill him. She's not going to, IMO, leave and hope he's still there when she returns. Plus she has very little leeway as far as fuel. Is she driving around Mesa aimlessly? Having to stop somewhere she may be captured on a surveillance cam?
JMO but she got there around 4am. The pug either barked or didn't. Only her word that he didn't. IMO he heard her enter, then recognized her and was calm.

"Leaving" could have meant no more than slinking to her car parked around the corner and driving it a few blocks away to park on the road I posted a pic of, that has very little traffic, and circling his block a few occasional times (as she did multiple times a week when she lived in Mesa) until she saw Zach's car parked on the street and then that he'd left.

Leaving could also have been going out the front door and circling back after a few minutes through the unlocked side garage door, to hide in the one car part of his garage until the coast was clear.

The 🤬🤬🤬 had a lot of practice sneaking and hiding, and there's no way, imo, she was willing to risk being seen by his roommates on that murder visit.

I think she was referring to the backpack snit, because I think she ran through every argument they had or intrusion she made that was witnessed or known about for sure, in case those incidents were brought up in court.

She answered the text sent by Chris, just after noon, then woke Travis up.

Maybe.

Yes. Like this. ...More or less.

Having her coming and going out of the house several times after TA throws her out is much more consistent with the prior emails and messages that he wanted to have nothing more to do with her than allowing her to stick around all day.

Every time he threw her out would have heightened her rage.

We only have 🤬🤬🤬' testimony that she was there all day. If he kept throwing her out and she kept returning=no DV.

Exactly like this. She stayed in the neighborhood.
