April 22. Travis texts his killer that his house has had bad vibes, maybe because of their last big fights there.

He tells her he has fung shui'd the house with incense.

She says yah, probably from all the pollution of your thoughts and your roommates, and all the people traipsing through your house.

Travis says- probably. But it feels better already.

BBM Creepy.

April 25. After midnight. Killer texts T to bring her some hot chocolate in the AM.

He says you're confusing me with your work lover. She says no. That she knows he's capable of making the hot chocolate happen for her in the morning. Tells him to just do it.

He says - uh huh (referring or not to her lover denial). Convo ends.

The setup for her plot is relentless...

April 28.

She texts him around 10:30pm. Says they got off the phone an hour ago and she can't get to sleep because she has a lump in her throat.

She hurts to know he's lonely, its made her realize she is too, but that she was lonelier being there in AZ, so near him, but he so far out of her "grasp."

She says I wish I could help you, be there for you.

After her long gush T just says- I'll be fine. She texts back- OK. Have a good day.

This last part of the exchange must have infuriated her.

"Then come back as soon as you can and be here for me. I miss you so much, I can't stand it anymore" was what she wanted to hear.

It's about a 2 hour drive from Hoover Dam to Mesquite. The 3-3:30am timeline is in keeping with being near the dam at midnight. Doesn't leave much (if any) time for an excursion into LV though.

She needed to dispose of weapons etc. before daybreak. Really thinking they're at the bottim of the Hoover Dam.

I agree no time for anything near Vegas, I was mistaken about Henderson, it was in Mesquite that she got gas on her way up 15 to Utah. As controlling and obsessive as she is, I tend to doubt she'd just toss either weapon away and trust they'd never be found and connected to her, I think she has buried treasure somewhere in Nevada. :)

Chilling.

On April 18th the killer told T that the photos she had taken of him shaving hadn't turned out well, and that she wanted to do another photo shoot of him shaving.

In same very long exchange of texts (this one is for you, Geevee) she goes on and on and on about her computer freezing and acting up and not being able to transfer photos AND she texts Travis a list of how she can get the photos to him by using......a memory card.

Last, he is asking her to finish up editing and typing his book chapter and to send it to him.

All 3 of these pieces of unfinished business came up on June 4.

:D

Well, we're now seeing she was a bit more computer literate than maybe has been expected - I wonder if she was successful transfering pics to a memory card and him being able to upload them? Hopefully this will be answered in later texts. I'm so behind, was busy all freakin' day, thanks so much for all of this info, you are a peach. :)

The more I thought about it, the more I've decided that Jodi got a shower in a long-haul truck in return for a "favor". Plenty of time for this when you're experienced.

You'd have to be a pretty desperate and lonely truck driver to overlook the blood stains and blood splatter to get your chance with her, and how many did she have to go through to get to that one? I can't see her parading herself around like a walking crime scene in order to find a receptive truck driver.

It's not necessary when she had free access to a shower right at the crime scene with a witness who could tell no tales.

April 18th is after she was back in Yreka, right? He was quite clear he never wanted to see her again. He gave her the birdie when she left. And she's saying she wants to photograph him shaving again? This is so bizarre even without the murder context.

Someone did have the great idea that Jodi used a hand held shower to wash up at Travis's, but not in the shower stall. This would explain why there was water on the floor that leached several inches up those boxes.

The blood spatter may not have been obvious in the gloom of a truck parking lot. She was fairly covered during the murder. Quickie sex happens all the time in those places: they get cruised by prostitutes. And no one needs to know any names; fake ones are easy.

April texts.

Chris Hughes is advising Travis how best to approach Mimi
to ask her to Cancun. Since Travis has dated her just a few times, and there doesn't seem to be a great deal of ongoing exchange, T is worried he'll spook her by asking.

Chris suggests exact language for T to use--- tell her you won 2 tickets to Cancun but can only use one, any possibility she could put it to good use and and come along, if not

THAT HE'LL PROBABLY GIVE IT TO CHRIS AND SKY HUGHES SO THEY CAN BRING THEIR NANNY.

Anyone else have a ding ding ding moment?

During interrogation by EF, when asked if it upset her that T was taking Mimi to Cancun, the killer said she didn't even know he was taking Mimi until after he died and someone told her.

That what she thought was that he was taking A BABYSITTER.

Sorry for screaming caps, should be bolded, posting by phone handicaps, but...

That can't be a coincidence. I always wondered why she'd mentioned a babysitter. Seemed an odd choice of pretend person to come up with. Maybe not.

Is there any way she could have had remote access to his phone texts while in Yreka? Or.....another indication she read through his text messages when she was there on June 4?

Hmm. Another perspective for these April texts. How furious she would have been reading them, perhaps as he slept not knowing yet she was there?

If she knew about the babysitter from snooping on that conversation then she knew his main interest was taking Mimi and the babysitter was just a backup plan.

Maybe he mentioned the babysitter to her directly in a separate conversation so he wouldn't set her off by letting her know he really wanted to take Mimi.

Giving the babysitter story to Mimi would be a good way to introduce her to the idea of going to Cancun with him.

Giving it to the killer would be a good way to try to maintain his privacy with her.

Anything is possible. Travis says they talked together about Mimi, the killer says Travis told her Mimi was the one. The killer is very much trying to give T the impression she's moved on, is happier, relieved, blah blah, and based on that dear man's willingness to trust her words no matter past experience and common sense, I think he believed her.

Not sure then that he would feel a need to lie to her about Mimi and Cancun...but will see if it comes up in May's texts.

How did these texts not end up in the trial? I just don't get it. Demarte didn't bring them up, JM didn't grill ALV on them..... There is so much evidence of stalking.

No one even obliquely seems to mention them. I don't mean merely this one, but all the ones we've just received.

And as for ALV.....she should be prosecuted for fraud, IMO. Well, maybe that's what's happening at the AG's office.

There's no "talking behind his words". Travis is about as WYSIWYG as you can possibly get.

By the way, the fact that ALV made a clearly bad-faith assessment of these materials (not to mention evidently Falseca and the guy with the hairpiece) would that contribute to an Appeals evaluation that Jodi got an extremely fair trial? JA had so many people on the witness stand with wholesale fabrications, it was clear the proceedings were pitched through and through in her favor. There could have been 10 other minor procedural blips in her trial, but they were counterbalanced by a thousand gigantic improprieties in her favor.

I know you all don't agree, but I'm more and more thinking JSS had her head on correctly. Yes, she dragged the trials out, but she's managing the manipulator from hell, an attorney who is livid all the time and knows his client is a psychopath, and all kinds of alien subjects (like computerese from fake geeks). Now that we have more of Nurmi's point of view, it's pretty clear she had way more complexity on her plate than I think we realized. I'll bet she woke up dreading the day.

He may have been naive when it came to trusting her words, but he also knew she was obsessive and stalkerish particularly when it came to his other love interests. He may have been openingly talking about his feelings for Mimi to try to push her away, while still seeing the danger of giving her any specific information and thus inviting her 'interventions'.

That does sound very logical....

But how about this one? Jodi snooped on another text that said Mimi had turned Travis down, so Jodi assumes the nanny is going. And then later, Mimi says she'll come but on "friend" terms, but Jodi hasn't been able to get TA's accounts for a while so she doesn't know this little update.

April texts.

Going back to double check dates relating to T's credit card. He mentions soon after she left that he needed a new CC. Later in April she reminds him he has to pay for insurance (more on that later).

He replies he can't because he doesn't have a credit card.

She says, really? You should report it stolen. That it's been 2 weeks, " yes, I've kept track of how long," that the bank never takes that long to send a card. She tells him to "be vigilant."

It's possible, but they were also talking directly a lot, and since he wanted to move on while she wanted to move in, him giving her watered-down information seems a logical way
for him to withdraw gently and without triggering drama.

What either of them really thought is maddeningly difficult to figure out, since she lied so much to him and he denied so much to himself about her.

This I'm confident of: the killer knew before she left Mesa that Mimi was NOT the one. I really don't think she ever felt genuinely threatened by Mimi, Cancun or not.

Lisa was the threat, start to finish. The killer put her all into destroying that relationship. By February 08 she thought she had finally succeeded.

But no. Travis begins expressing regrets about Lisa in March and never stops. Soon after the killer leaves Mesa Travis' regret about Lisa greatly intensifies. He even tells Chris at one point that he's chasing Mimi to help him try to forget about Lisa. That he's angry with himself for not being able to forget her, but that he just can't.

I think that's what happened, personally. Trying to remember the timing of his finding out she was hacking into his accts, changing passwords, and when Mimi said going as a friend. Pretty sure all that is in Travis journal thread tho.
