Serren has been missing from her home in Guisborough 7pm on Sunday but police have confirmed a sighting near to Redcar beach. How she got to Redcar is still an open question. It’s over 7 miles and apparently from locals, buses don’t run there on Sunday. Here is the recent police post.
Officers are concentrating their enquiries around Redcar beach in the search for missing Serren Bennet.

18-year-old Serren headed towards the Church Lane area of Guisborough around 7pm on Sunday 8th June. She was then seen on CCTV walking towards Redcar beach alone around 9pm and is believed to have stayed in the vicinity of the beach.

Clothing recovered from the beach has been confirmed to be Serren’s by her family members. Serren’s family is currently being supported by specially trained officers as enquiries continue.

🗣️ Superintendent Emily Harrison said: “From CCTV, we can see that Serren headed towards the beach alone on the evening of Sunday 8th June. Clothing has been recovered from the beach which has been confirmed by family as belonging to Serren.

“We have no other missing people reported to us in this area. We have specialist officers supporting Serren’s family and providing them with updates on police activity during this extremely difficult time.

“Our enquiries are now centred around the beach as we continue to do everything possible to locate Serren as quickly as we can.”

Serren is described as 5’6” tall with brown hair and brown eyes and she was wearing a black coat with fur on the hood, a black skirt, black tights and black shoes.

🔵 Anyone who may have seen Serren at the beach, on the stretch between Majuba car park and South Gare, on the evening of Sunday 8th June is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting ref 105161 as a matter of urgency.

Fingers crossed this ends well, but unfortunately I think what may have happened is fairly plain from what's been released. I hope they locate her soon, whatever's taken place.

Sea currents in that part of the North Sea run north to south, so they will probably be looking for her body along the coast towards Holderness and Lincolnshire.

There is sad, if not entirely unexpected, news coming through about Serren. Cleveland Police have issued the following statement:

Sadly, on Thursday 10 July, police received a report that a body had been located in the sea in the Humberside area.

Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, officers have informed Serren Bennett’s next of kin, who is being supported by specialist officers.

All our thoughts are with Serren’s family at this difficult time.
