I started watching this tornado from the time it was starting. I am utterly devestated. I knew it was going to be bad, but I never imagined the scope and tragic conclusion. God Bless all those impacted. I do not have the words to express my sorrow. Prayers from N.E. Tennessee.

Seen many a green sky, I agree, its a bad bad sign.

Very fortunate to have a full unfinished basement and live in a home that was built in 1867 three bricks deep all the way round. My main worry is the dogs, they freak in weather like this.

Animals do sense things we don't...amazing.

My storm chasing days are if something is close by and my back/shoulder isn't so painful. Older now and can't do what I wanted to do 10 years ago. lol

Gas lines, power lines, lots of safety issues to take into consideration.

To the mommas/family members who have folks in Springdale: The sirens are going off in Rogers (near Springdale), but the weather folks are stressing that there is NOT a tornado spotted...they think it is a power surge tripping the sirens.

I hesitate to say exactly where I am located, so let's just say I'm within "spittin' distance" of Springdale.

NWS says the storm front has a high probability of producing more tornadoes. I hope Granbury will be spared this week.,

Will be working throughout the night to do 2nd and maybe 3rd searches.

We are still doing searches through schools and houses.
There have been confirmed deaths at the Plaza Towers Elementary School, doesn't have a number at this time.

I finally heard from my daughter. She says they are in the middle of a storm but are okay and she will let me know when it passes. It was a text message with no time stamp.

Yes, just talked to her and they are fine. She said the sky had looked really bad and they rode it out in a basement closet, but no tornadoes went through town.

I wish the weather reporting in the area was more specific. A tornado warning in Benton and Washington county covers an area of 1793 square miles.

In Moore, a couple of confirmed fatalities on the East side of town.
Cannot say how many because the process is still ongoing.
We can just tell you that there ARE some... and we will get it out as soon as we can confirm it.

Thanks. My son is in a basement in Bentonville. Been worried to death but he says he is fine. I have family in Moore and just heard everyone has been accounted for.

Its Joplin all over again. Moore has my prayers. Every square inch and every resident, every family member or friend of residents.

...a tornado warning remains in effect until 830 pm cdt for
southeastern coal and central atoka counties...

at 806 pm cdt...national weather service meteorologists continued to
detect a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. This
dangerous storm was located near tushka...moving east at 30 mph.

In addition to a tornado...large damaging hail up to golf ball size
is expected with this storm.

locations impacted include...
Atoka...stringtown...tushka...caney...lane...mcgee creek lake and
atoka reservoir.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take cover now in a storm shelter or an interior room of a sturdy
building. Stay away from doors and windows.

Lots of heavy lightning off to the southwest. Storms arriving. If I go offline please don't be concerned. I have lived here my whole life, and been an avid weather watcher. I do not take risks. If anything we may lose power and/or satellite (internet) whatever but I will check in if that happens, just as soon as the net comes back up.
