Actually, I wouldn't mind getting paid for sex some days that I'm not in the mood.

And Social Security also.
Paid Vacations
Headache ='s State Disability Pay
Unemployment Insurance

If it became legal during this administration, Halliburton would probably be given the no-bid contract to administrate it

Buzz and Marthetex-- You both crack me up.

I agree let's legalize it. Safer for the worker and purveyor of "wares". Would probably create a new income stream for lawyers, less disease. Less abuse. Might even change relationships between women and men in the long run.

I have known two former "working women" intimately and a few others on a social basis. (Club days)

I came to know their stories a bit. Although in those days, depth conversations were limited. I do know each woman I knew (not exactly a statistical certanty lol) had been sexualized as children. All were big party gals/clubbers.

They used their experience turning tricks to restore a feeling of power over their bodies. They also used the money to support a hedonistic lifestyle. My guess is my friends were not "lifers" but dabblers in prostitution. We were all pretty young and it was the "sexual revolution". These women I knew were not poor. Something else was going on.

Prostitution, whether it should be legal or not is an interesting topic.

Speaks to the heart of women's politics IMO. And it is a world wide phenomena with an economic reality. To think that ANY woman might be forced into selling her body these days for economic reasons is sad indeed.

I think it's a dangerous profession. The sex workers ought to get hazard pay IMO.

If it were legal and more socially acceptable I bet more women would hire escorts.

Along the lines of the topic. I had a friend that produced and promoted 🤬🤬🤬🤬 for Playboy. She ultimately sued them for sexual harassment and won. Even those in the sex industry want respect it would seem.

What I find so amusing, is women who say they would NEVER sleep with a man for money, but then, if they were offered an outrageous sum....
say $20,000, or even $100,000.....they would do it in a heartbeat.

And let's even assume that the asker was very attractive.

So, it's not a question of what you are....you're just haggling about the price.

I'd do it for $20 000!
Does that make me a bad person??
How long can these things take, could all be over in a matter of minutes :p
Do we have to enjoy it

HI narlacat! Some women sleep with men whom they're not attracted to for NO money.

Other women sleep with men just to get nice dinner at a fine restaurant or
some other "gift."

I have no interest in doing it myself, but I see no reason why it should be illegal. Live and let live. Just be SAFE.

You couldn't pay me a million bucks to sleep with a creepy man.

Johnny Depp or Andy Garcia, I would accept $2.00 for.

"The group called for more respect and stronger legal protections for legal and illegal workers in the sex industry. "

LMAO!!! Here is a thought ... If you want respect don't be a hooker?? :boohoo:
I think your attitude toward these people borders on bigotry to be honest..they are people who respected men tend to sleep with or hurt or maime or whatever-its the oldest profession..so why is there no protection and respect..only because all of us who are not prostitutes devalue them to that place..I dont want to be one but I am no better than them.
And for the person who refers to them as Ho's..and concludes ho's dont deserve respect?? Ho is an attitude not a profession. There are many who could qualify as Ho's who make money other than via prostitution..it refers to a behaviour..Many prostitiutes are nicer than most people here tend to be when there is someone to tear down - especially a woman.
