The first thing that comes to my mind is because he is rich and powerful with lots of attorneys to keep his name out of print.

But, even if that's true... why wouldn't his name be listed in news reports? It appears very secretive (imo, and I don't think I'm the only one with this opinion)

Because, according to privacy laws and rules, the never name people, they just asked a few things and deemed them as innocent. Because if they would do that, some people would go and build wild theories about a drifter being the secret million dollar heavy mastermind of some black cult killing virgin prostitutes for their blood to gain somehow and nobody knows how world domination ... well, or something like that.

Peter,

I have no doubt in my mind that something went truly wrong at that house and that the 911 call holds clear clues as to what happened.

The extent of what went wrong, I have no idea. I can only guess, because I have no reason to believe the trio of MP, JB and CPH.

Going for a wild theory, you might ask if I am expecting any references to GB4 (which is GB2 at the time) on that tape. That is far fetched, but I am not closing any doors. Insistence of LE to hold back the audio adds more clouds.

Dormer says on Dec 8th, 2011

“It is very easy to get engulfed in water, muck and fall down and not be able to get out of there. So we surmise that’s what happened,”

Dormer happens to be the only person who can build theories. That is funny enough.

Currently, in my eye, JB and MP stand somewhere between innocence and manslaughter.

I'm trying to put myself in JB's shoes, but his actions doesn’t add up to something I can understand.

First of all, I would do anything to retrieve that 911 call, just to get clear from the implications and show people that Shannan is "lunatic". Or perhaps he cares about the dignity of the poor girl?

Going back to the night, in my house some crazy hooker calls 911 and talks to the operator for minutes, saying that I am trying to kill her. Just for precaution, I would call 911 too. Lots of other courses of action could be suggested.

Martin County Sheriff Richard Crowder gets a call on a Saturday morning when he is off duty. It is one of his deputies, Gerard John Schaefer.

Schaefer says; "Boss, I did something stupid. I met two runaway girls. I decided to scare the hell out of them, so they would be better behaving kids. I took them to grove. Tied them to a tree and went away, to let them a few hours to ponder and take a lesson out of this. But when I got back there, the girls were gone."

I'm sure you know the truth and it is much more different that.

Now, which one makes more sense? A young deputy teaching a lesson to the vagabond girls, or the young deputy is one of the worst serial killers in the history.

Sometimes reality can be crazier than the wildest guesses.

A neighbor of JB saw him bring a rental-truck (uHaul) and move items into in the darkness with just a single light inside the home. That neighbor thought this was very weird.

1) Why would she think it was weird? (Because he could afford to get his own truck instead of a rental-truck or was it in moving things in the complete darkness)

If he did hire a rental-truck did the police try to get the records from rental-truck company to see if he hired a rental-truck and for how long - whether he used his real-name to rent the truck or someone's name?

Why name the poor innocent dr or the helpful driver or the nice john? <Mod Snip> and the police don't care about them but they won't name the drifter because they are building a case IMO

They could be building a case, but I doubt it. If you were an innocent guy, staying with a friend for a brief period of time, and your friend decides to have a prostitute over to his house while you happen to be there, and that prostitute ends up dead, don't you think it would be highly unethical of the police to release your name just because you were there? Especially after being cleared? I think it would. Wrong place at the wrong time doesn't mean you're guilty. That's why we have constitutional rights in this country.

Remember the news article stated drifter's "penchant for strippers" so the whole "while he happened to be staying there" argument doesn't really work. Are you going to believe drifter with "penchant for strippers" coincidently happens to be staying in JB's house but not indulging in his "penchant for strippers" then the girl screams 'THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL ME" and disappears coincidently in a graveyard full of dead girls. How many coincidences can you blindly accept and why should we neglect suspicion from the 1 most suspicious player when EVERYONE else has gone under such extreme scrutiny

The rumor for a while was the drifter said he liked to go to AC to get "laid or get paid" whatever that means.

What's the Drifter's name? Why the hidden identity? Could it be that JB made up the Drifter story to cover for the Master? Getting warm in here.

I agree, accusing someone of murder without evidence is slander. Who accused someone of murder, though? Speculating that someone may have been murdered is not slander, is it? A thread dedicated to Shannan Gilbert will inevitably speculate about her cause of death. The only solution for those readers who think there's nothing about her death worthy of comment, or who simply can't see reading such speculation, is to not read the thread (or, I suppose, rant in the thread about how it's all "slander"). That's what I think, but maybe it's just me.

@Peter Bendt-I respect your position regarding evidence needed before wrongfully accusing anyone. You are a good man. However, I am disturbed by Shannan being in fear for her life inside of Brewer's home when she made that 911 call and only to discover over 1.5 years later that she was indeed dead. I don't think that Brewer, the Doc, or Pak killed SHannan or are the LISK but I do find the entire occurences of that evening curious.

You don't even know his name, how can you be so certain he had this "penchant for strippers"? Because one article said it was so? Come on. Maybe when you're in JB's circle that means you automatically have a penchant for strippers, simply because JB seems to. You're not wrong, nor am I blind. MP is more likely to have killed Gilbert than JB in my opinion. MP said on the A&E documentary that he thought Shannan was trying to "set him up". Interesting choice of words wouldn't you say? Enjoying strippers doesn't make you a murderer. Enjoying prostitutes doesn't make you a murderer. Simple as that.

Probably nobody else was in the house, just as a wild guess.

Just a wild guess? Based on what? Because if it is based on nothing, it's not a guess, it's a conjecture.

How many people do you think were in the house? And on what do you base your thinking? Because unless you were there at the time, and did a thorough count of those present, then you're just engaging in conjecture. By the way, conjecture is defined as "guess" (and also as "speculation"), so don't lean too hard on finding a distinction between the words:

Call me crazy but I'm not going to give drifter the benefit of the doubt in a SK case. Just because the article says so? :waitasec:

Correct, I don't trust a single article. Who was the source that confirmed the info? How did they know for a fact he had a penchant for strippers and/or call girls? I need more hardcore factual stuff than that before I come to a firm belief the info is legit. You don't have to give anyone or anything the benefit of the doubt if you choose not to, the constitution does that for all of us.
