WORK WORK WORK!!! Watcha gonna do?

  • #26
Sure.
You get that :)

I think people are used to me hijacking threads lol.

Getting back to the original topic, FWIW I think Patsy did worry about the JonBenet thing, how could she not

I dare say Patsy is happier now.

It's okay, Paradox. What, you're gonna penalize us for being good friends.

okay, i understand the majority of you think patsy killed her daughter. you obviously have more insight than the police, FBI, profilers and thousands of others. since you have NO proof, she was NEVER charged, why do you trash and mock her death? i am NO supporter of her, however, i just feel that you guys are very harsh on her in death. this woman suffered from the day her daughter died until her death. no one can understand the pain and suffering from chemo and radiation tearing thru your body. her family and friends could be reading here and i think death should have some dignity. okay, go ahead, trash me for my opinion.

"okay, go ahead, trash me for my opinion."

Wouldn't think of it.

"no one can understand the pain and suffering from chemo and radiation tearing thru your body."

I can. I watched it when my father was stricken. It consumed him within two years.

"her family and friends could be reading here"

I hope so.

"and i think death should have some dignity."

I totally agree. I've done my best not to make cheap shots.

"okay, i understand the majority of you think patsy killed her daughter.

Unfortunately. You think we WANT it to be that way?!

"you obviously have more insight than the police, FBI, profilers and thousands of others."

Actually, that's whose insight we're using.

"since you have NO proof"

Well, that's a matter of semantics. We have evidence. There's a difference between "evidence" and "proof."

"she was NEVER charged"

True. But OJ walked. Big deal.

"why do you trash and mock her death?"

I won't speak for anyone else on that.

"i am NO supporter of her"

Could have fooled me.

"however, i just feel that you guys are very harsh on her in death."

Maybe we are. No harsher than in life. Life and death are not so different (Okay, enough philosophizing.)

"this woman suffered from the day her daughter died until her death."

I don't doubt it. I'm sure she wished it never happened, no matter what her role (or lack thereof.) Despite what you think, we're not heartless.

SNIP

i think death should have some dignity.

Some posters do not know how to behave; some posters do, but they just don't care.

High-profile cases develop a following, and, in any of these cases, more than a few ardent followers will not reason well or have much grace. When a case does not develop as some would like, covens, sewing circles or the like develop for, seemingly endless, villification of some unfortunate person or persons who were exposed to the media's floodlights.

Experience has taught me that many such case followers do not support our presumption of innocence standard, many do not accept the need for proof beyond a reasonable doubt and many just do care about any legal standard or measure, they simply have a need to rant.

Unfortunately, death seems not to deter them. Like all of us, they were taught and raised to show a little grace and consideratin to others, to behave like adults, to know better, etc., but many just seem not to care. Some behave boorishly, some behave much worse.

Several years ago, Richard Ricci passed away in a jail cell. He had been widely accused of being Elizabeth Smart's murderer. Upon his death, forums across the web lite up with the most thoughtless and venemous posts one could imagine. If you defended him, you, too, were villified.

When Elizabeth Smart was found alive -- having been kidnapped by Brian Mitchell and Wanda Barzee -- there was no outpouring of repentive posts for their fallaciously held beliefs and reprehensive demonization of Richard Ricci. Such grace was seldom found; most just silently slithered elsewhere.

Upon her death, Patsy has suffered similar posts. But Webslueths' moderators have deleted many of the worst posts, which was appropraite, nice to see and appreciated.

We all deal with it our own ways.

i think jessica lunsford and elizabeth smart have shown us all how very wrong we can be. richard ricci died and most thought he kidnapped and killed elizabeth. how very wrong most of us were.

i am of the opinion that patsy was involved in the death and/or cover up. i just feel that the suffering her family is going thru - husband now losing three people he loved....her son losing his sister and mother....its painful at best.

i know everyone on this board have very strong beliefs as to who did this crime. the fact remains NO ONE knows for certain. the police truly BELIEVED richard ricci had taken elizabeth - they were dead wrong.

i think the ramsey family deserves privacy and respect in mourning the loss of their mother, wife, sister...whatever she was. i feel this thread is damning her even in death - again, with NO PROOF. She was never arrested or convicted of the horrible murder of her daughter

And for what it's worth, kelly, I'm with you. Even an enemy should have respect in death, since they affected your life.

No Patsy was never arrested or convicted, but NOT FOR LACK OF EVIDENCE. There were many other factors at work.

And we needn't forget them, either.

Please keep discussion to the case and cease discussion about other posters and moderation.

Posts which reference other posters in a negative way will be removed in their entirety.

The forum benefits from civil discussion. Websleuths has earned a reputation for welcoming all opnions, provided that they are expressed politely and that they do not infringe on anyone's privacy or invoke legal action. This is partially achieved through tolerance and good manners.

Patsy's death has invoked many different reactions and some of these have resulted in heated discussion which required an unusually high level of moderator intervention. Hopefully, we can now get back to civility.
