Hmmmm interesting...

The article I mentioned above has new info about Sheri's personality -- was what I thought, big Italian family...

This was stated:
>>Her family refused to discuss the case or Chris Coleman, who on Monday gave fingerprints to investigators from the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. He did not attend the memorial service in Chicago but at least three of the more-than 20 investigators working on the triple murders were at the funeral home.<<

Wow... I wonder if they were there in caring for Sheri and the children, or to keep an eye on things that could happen (i.e. if the perp went up there)

It's a pity they have to bring the bodies back to Chester for burial. If killed by their father/husband how awful that he picks the burial place.

I wonder why the MCS went up there. Maybe to see if anyone from CC's side showed and to hear what was said.

And a new twist on things that we read in the court document:

>>Her family found out Thursday afternoon that Chris Coleman was not going to allow them to bring the victims to Chicago as had been discussed. Enrico Mirabelli, Sheri's cousin, is a lawyer who flew to St. Louis and tried again to get Chris Coleman to allow a service in Chicago.

He refused.

Mirabelli had served on the Illinois State Bar Association board with Belleville attorney Jack Carey, so he enlisted Carey's aid and with some help from St. Clair County Circuit Judge John Baricevic and Associate Judge Brian Babka, they obtained a restraining order and stopped the burials on Saturday in Chester, where Chris Coleman grew up.<<

Edit: This should be added:
>>"We just want to express our gratitude to the people down there and let them know how grateful we are," Mirabelli said. "They gave us the opportunity to mourn her and the boys' deaths."

"Without that order, a lot of these people could not pay their respects because they couldn't get down there."<<

The gratitude is to those who did the order or ??

Also at the above news article:

>>She planned to make missionary trips to Mexico and India this summer.<<

I don't think Sheri was planning on moving out -- I think she was entrenched in family life, raising her children and doing her outreach work.

I took it to mean gratitude to Carey, Baricevic and Babka for their help. Bit players in this story, but, all three, fine, nice men.

Yes, I caught that and thought it was interesting, a lot of folks have been speculating on her moving out - some boxes in the one vehicle or garage or something.

On another note, has it been discussed here now that it is being said the house went out of her name and was deeded over to JMM? That is from one of the articles on the www.bnd.com website I believe.

Nothing new on Channel 5. From Channel 4 in response to a neighbors interview about not having a break in the case... The reporter says "At least not a break that investigators are ready to go forward with. I'm told 20 investigators are still working on this case. I want to tell you that the Major Case Squad normally activates for 5 days, we're day 6 in and they say here tonight they plan to stay here for several days more."

My italics.. finally a reporter speculates that LE may have a POI, but aren't ready to name them just yet.

Okay, I have been searching to find an article about CC lawyering up on Tuesday last (the day of the murder), and can not find an article. I do find it discussed/mentioned on the comments of one of the articles on Stltoday, but, can'f find the first comment that mentions it, one that gives a source.

So perhaps for right now we should consider that a rumour only.

I caught that, and I think it is interesting. Again, watching the demaner of Conner's the MCS member who was talking, he seems confident. That makes me feel it is going to happen, and possibly soon, they are just making sure they have all their ducks in a row.

Thanks for the news reports, Stella~ Not much we didn't know, but still...it beats no news at all!

I did find this tid bit. They have prints from the murder scene evidently which is good news. The reporter made an error tho as Connor didn't call police for a wellness check...Coleman did. (Unless it was Connor who was called by Coleman.)

Chris Coleman stopped by the Columbia Police Department with his attorney and gave his fingerprints Monday afternoon. Connor said at a press conference Monday afternoon that police had requested them to compare with evidence found in the slayings of Coleman's wife, 31-year-old Sheri Coleman, and sons, 11-year-old Garrett and 9-year-old Gavin. The three were found dead by police in the couple's Columbia home on Tuesday after Connor asked police to do a wellness check on them.

~snip~

Connor also addressed the POI/Suspect being named:

In response to questions about potential suspects, Connor said: "We're still not prepared to call anyone a suspect."

He said he wouldn't disclose any suspect's name unless the person is charged.

During the wake in Chester IL there were at least 3 unmarked St. Louis LE cars and couple of Columbia IL marked, plus at least 1 county sheriff. They were not there for security reasons I don't believe. (I went up there to see just if the media showed up and to see how many people showed up - I did not attend it myself as I don't know them)

There was only one Chester IL cop working in one area that was set up for the media but only one media truck came and they parked near a house about 1/2 block away from the church and they were doing a dual story. One about the Coleman wake and one about the very bad weather we had earlier in the day. A very large tree went down 1/2 block from the church and that is where they did their reporting from. It was Fox news in St. Louis.

I was kinda surprised that there was not a larger crowd of people at the wake on Friday. I also got caught waiting on the funeral procession on Saturday at 12 noon. There was only 1 Chester cop and 1 county cop stopping traffic so the funeral procession could travel up to the old cemetery (about 1/2 mile away) where they placed the caskets over the graves. The cemetery where they are going to be buried is very old but still very active. It is called Evergreen.

Snipped to address one issue.. probably just a typo on the reporters end. I can see them typing connor meaning coleman & vice versa & not doublechecking their work before hitting post.

I doubt Connor was called by Coleman... I don't think Connor is Columbia, but not 100% sure on that. Unfortunately officers aren't listed on Columbias site, so don't know for sure. If Connor was a neighbor or friend and he was the one who CC called, the MCS wouldn't have them on the case as it could be viewed as conflict of interest.
