BIG gun defense attorney in this area. Interesting choice.

Interesting choice indeed. Margulis & son are among the top Criminal Defense attorneys in the area. Why lawyer up so quick with them, unless...

I was away all day yesterday and now trying to catch up on reading the posts but let me ask this...please.

Was Sherri, Gavin and Garrett's bodies transported to Sherri's family for the memorial?

If so, what I see that may happen since her family now has them in their hometown they are going to ask a Judge for an injunction to stop the procedure of sending the bodies back to be buried in Chris's hometown.

ITA - I guess I didn't want to bring it up. But, yes, I believe they will be buried in Chicago/Chicagoland.

Oh, one more thing I want to bring up because I'd never heard of it before...why does their Major Case Squad have a time limit for investigating this case? I live in NY and I've never heard of that here...something happens...they investigate it as long as it takes to solve the crime. I'd never heard of LE only having 5 days to investigate a case.

Would someone enlighten me if possible? TIA.

My exhusband gets called to be part of the MCS from time to time - not on this case though. They are called into high-profile crimes across the region. It's comprised of LE from different LE jurisdictions here, and they all specialize in certain areas of crime solving. They get a 5 day assignment - which they can extend if the need arises. After their initial investigation, they then turn it the case over to the local LE who called them together in the first place where the crime occurred. In high profile cases, you can see them together for a long, long time.

If in fact Sheri was estranged from her family in Chicago, maybe it was because of CC.Either he had control issues or they saw him for what he really is.IMO When a woman is estranged from her family 9 times out of 10 the husband is the cause.

Yes, well said. A friend's daughter was in this situation - controlling, abuser who made her cut all ties (for a while) with her family. Thankfully, she got out and all seems well.

Cool, Stella!

Oh, and one more thing, when they say they are on a case for five days, an extension or whatever, it isn't like they totally abandon the case at that point. After the give it back to the local jurisdiction (who has had officers/detectives working with the MCS all along) they will still consult, be available for help, etc. And they can be called back in on a case if it has been dormant and something pops.

Thanks to fran for posting the link...here's another interesting comment. I've bolded things that freak me out.

The husband is the main person of interest. I know someone who has a friend on the Major Case Squad. They think its him but they don't have a way to prove it yet... Some notes to hint on:

The g/f in FL does exist. He called her at 6 am to tell her he was leaving the gym (I guess for an aliby).

The kids were in their beds strangled and the wife was in hers. The kids were spray painted (The spray paint can came from Joyce Meyer's).
The letters came from the husband.

I'll leave everything else out, but they have to find evidence to pin it on the husband but he's who they want.

The kids were spray painted? WTF? If that is true, what would compel someone to do that to innocent children?

SleuthyMama, I am just now reading your post. I do not take what anonymous commenters state seriously. I went to that site and it seems as if many of them are posting things they say have heard.

I will be shocked if this turns out to be true. I see that you are only pointing out these comments and do not actually take them literally. People who start these kinds of rumors about the deaths of innocent children are disgusting to me.

I only got through one page at that site before getting so disgusted I left!

Thanks for pointing these comments out, tho. :)

I must be a masochist, I am feeling compelled for some strange reason to read them all. ;o)

Exactly! And sometimes they keep a handful of MCS'ers on a case, while the rest go back to their regular departments. I expect another extension, unless they have grounds to make an arrest before the current extension expires *crossing fingers*. It's very weird to have everything so quiet on the media front here with a crime like this, makes you wonder what is really going on.

My BFF's husband grew up in Columbia & his family knew this family. We were at their house Saturday and they said his Mom & Dad went to the funerals here, and they think there is definite guilt on CCs part. Time will tell.

Thanks, Medusa and Stella for fleshing the MCS thing out for us. Makes complete sense now. I don't know why but originally reading the stories all I could picture was just the MCS investigating and then when their time period was up, no one else was picking up the case. Now I get it.

And OT but every time I write Major Case Squad I think Law & Order.

I just have to wonder if Chris C. was involved with a co-worker. There should also be female security as well. I further wonder if that co-worker may have lived in the house that was being guarded. I forget now where it was. I wonder if there was a female co-worker if he traveled with her. People who spend a lot of time together tend to gravitate toward each other. When there are male and female co-workers and they spend a lot of time together, bonds tend to form.

Just something I am wondering about......................

You have no idea how it helps to know I am not the only one. LOL! Thanks!

I wonder about this as well. The media mentioned LE at former home, and then no more.

I hope we get some actual facts soon from LE instead of people commenting on those sites who pretend to know the "scoops". ;) I don't expect an arrest until their ducks are in a row and they have exhausted the search for whatever item they are diligently trying to recover.

Speaking of which...a dvr would be a good find since it could be traced back to the purchaser. It would be worth recovering even if it was damaged.

If you checked out the video of the truck and the man inside the truck...you will see it probably wasn't LE camped out at that house. LE would have one of their officers in their cars, imo. They would not be bashful about their surveillance if it was to protect someone.

IMO, the fact that LE is hardly releasing any information/updates on the case means they have a pretty good idea who did this, and are working on gathering evidence. I think if they were really clueless about this horrible crime, they would be pleading for the publics help. Considering the fact that they aren't, and are staying very quiet, leads me to believe they know exactly who did this.

I agree the DVR would be a great find.

Just wanted to say we had a new neighbor we all knew he was up to no good.Well a while ago police searched his house he was arrested involved in alot of very criminal things. He was kicked out of his house, months later I read he was killed in a shoot out with police in another part of the state.I went on comment boards found out alot of the missing pieces.People who are in the know like to get it off their chests and their minds.99% percent of what I found out was all true.Just saying

True, but, one of the local news stations (most likely Fox 2 or KSDK) when they first broadcast about the previous house said that POLICE where there and as I recall, searched it. They had a reporter outside the house, it wasn't really long piece. I didn't take from it they were concerned about the current resident, necessarily, but, rather they were looking for evidence. Maybe JMM decided then to put a guard on the property (they own it).

interesting tidbit .. a request for prayer was made for the Coleman family and a statement was made by the blog owner that Coleman had been receiving death threats for nine months "and now it happened"
