Thank you for this link, Lovejac.

Because this is the only media outlet that gives the timing of the husband/father obtaining the services of a defense attorney just hours after discovering his dead family, I might question their accuracy, as I've seen misreporting before. Even the AP. But this reporter said his attorney is the one who told her he'd hired them 'just hours after' the murders.

This is my 'hook,' regarding his guilt, in MY OPINION.

There is NO WAY an innocent person, in a situation of discovering their entire family murdered, would hire an attorney to protect their rights. That would be the furthest thing from their mind. The ONLY thing they'd be thinking of is 'who did this?' and 'I want justice for my loved ones!'

Sorry, my sympathy for him is gone. My personal vow at political correctness is gone, 'innocent until proven guilty.' This isn't a court of law and I think he's guilty.

Why? I want to know why? Why not a divorce? and.........WHY the children?

OMG.........:(

JMHO
fran

I have tried to distance myself and try to look at CCs side for obtaining a lawyer and I really think he obtained one days after, not hours after but on that I am sure we will learn more as this case progresses. The media misspeaks quite often now.

I just think in today's times it makes it plausible even for an innocent person to obtain a lawyer because it seems the media and the internet pretty much think right away that the husband is the killer whether he is or not. So obtaining a lawyer may be the reasonable thing to do whether he is innocent or guilty.

However; I am leaning toward that he did do this rather than didn't but I am not fully convinced yet. It seems LE would have been able to refute by now if the threatening letters were just a fake ruse and setup by CC. Also getting a comparison sample of his handwriting could be easy and quick to obtain in order to compare it with the message left behind on the walls.

It sure doesn't seem to be a case like some we have seen before where the husband is arrested immediately for the murder of their wife and/or children. So LE is searching for something that connects the perp to the crime and since the case is still ongoing with no arrest yet they are still searching for it, imo.

The asking of CC fingerprints doesn't alarm me. It is SOP. They know his fingerprints will be all over the home he lived in but they have to have his so they can exclude his and separate them from any other fingerprints found there by others that did not live in the home.

imo

Chestergal, what are the locals saying about this? By your description the community sounds like the type that would circle the wagons. Would they be the type to blow LE off as well?

Ocean, if you watch the video you will see his Attorney is the person making the statement about being hired on Tuesday just hours after the murders.

Asking the family members for fingerprints is SOP. To get a search warrant signed by a judge for those fingerprints is not unless LE has a reason to suspect they could be used for evidence in court, imo. (His attorney mentioned this was the second set of prints to be taken from Coleman.)

Oh goody! Free advertising for Websleuths! ;)

He really should watch our threads. We have been known to break news to our members that the media doesn't even know about!

Just sayin'
fran

OMG! He read that and here's his twitter about your post:

he said we were pretending to solve cases.
he did say that some people on this thread claim to know Chris Coleman and that some of what has been posted by them has turned out to be true. (Pertzborn claims he ran across the website for the first time last week)

I'm scratching my head here. Who poster here has claimed they actually know Chris Coleman? :waitasec:

Dang, would love it if we could make that happen!

I predict an arrest either today or tomorrow also. I agree with you, chestergal!

I hope your prediction come true.

When are the bodies supposed to be returned for burial?

Thanks, SS. I did not watch the video and I should have.

If they already had his prints then I wonder why they had to do that twice?

Good question. The only one I can think of is they wanted the sw in place, but someone mentioned earlier perhaps they wanted palm prints.

The good news is LE has fingerprints to compare from the crime scene. (This was mentioned by Major Jeff Connor.)

For those of you concerned about the deer in the Utube video that Chris Coleman may have killed by strangling it.

First off hunters are allowed to hunt until dusk. Many kills are done right at dusk when the deer start moving. Once you shoot one with a bow or shotgun they tend to run off and they can be hard to find right away. That may explain why is so dark in the video. Many hunters will stay out in the field and search for the deer before they would leave it overnight in the field because the coyotes will tear it up if you leave it lay until morning.

It will take a large deer quite some time to bleed out from an arrow and it all depends on where the arrow went in.

Yes... he should have had a knife with him.

We have a high deer pop. here in Randolph County IL (where Chester is) and I am very thankful for the deer hunters here. The deer around here will run out in front of your auto and all they do is cause insurance rates to go up and can cause personal injury to the drivers. We have a high count of deer/auto accidents here in Randolph County.

The men around here are raised as deer hunters because there are so many deer here. Some trophy bucks have come out of this county over the years and Randolph County is becoming a hot spot for out of town hunters because of the trophy bucks that have been coming out of this county.

I am glad that someone found the video and that Medusa turned it over to MCS as it might be important to the case since it shows the character of Brad or Chris (if he was there) and how they handled the situation. It is possible that Sheri was a hunter also as we have many female hunters in the area.

Also deer around here feed many people over the winter time. Most people who kill them do eat them. It takes almost 7 months or more to get the meat processed and returned backed to you if you pay to have some one do it locally for you. That is how back logged the deer processors get around here.

Deer hunting is just a part of life around here and we get 1 extra hunting period here in Randolph County because we have way too many deers in the area even though we have plenty killed by autos and hunters every year.
