The post this morning reported they were found in their beds. Now whether that's where they were actually killed or not, who knows. The perp could have put them back into bed after killing them somewhere else in the house.

What report? Is this an official report from police?

It couldn't be as no details have been released to the public.

So who made this "report"?

Are you sure it was along 255? or hit the water and floated to the bank? Hmm.. only time will tell...

Whoa! ROFLMAO! Sorry, this post is a) great and b) just seriously hysterical for some reason.

Thanks, Jball! I need a laugh today.

Just a little bitty newspaper here called the Post Dispatch. I'm sure you could find it online.

Either way, if CC is guilty, let's hope he made a lot of mistakes!

You know, the TOD would answer most of our questions. Don't they know we need this info????!!!!

Do the police have the COD or are they still waiting for it?

I saw them searching the grass when I was over that way. I suppose they could have found something in the river, but they weren't even able to find that construction worker's body who fell off the bridge into the river a few years ago IIRC.

No, I don't. Do you? I don't think it was ever stated in the news or by the police.
I thought it was mentioned somewhere, but in any event...it obviously was not on or disabled since the neighbors would have certainly heard an alarm and it would have awakened the family. They would have all been up and probably not all found in the bedrooms, imo.

The fact the window was either unlocked or left open is important, but may not have anything to do with the murders. The screen could have been damaged before the murders and the window (if open) could have been due to moisture in the basement or for other reasons (someone was careless not to lock it). I still believe it was staged and no one entered through the window. The screen will show if it was torn/cut from the inside or the outside which will be helpful to LE in determining if someone came in that way.

There should be signs of someone crawling in the window, too. Footprints outside on the ground or on the side of the house, possible fingerprints, lint or fiber from clothing, smudges on the glass, marks on the inside walls, etc.

Also...wouldn't there be dew or moisture on the person's shoes from the grass? Grass tends to stick to people's shoes when damp, too. They should have some very clear signs that someone walked across the yard and crawled in the window including photos of footprints on the grass itself with the morning moisture.

Some reports say beds and others say bedrooms. I believe I heard Major Connor say bedrooms last night on NG, but I haven't checked the transcript yet. (It may have been someone else.)

did it say they were found in their beds?

I stand corrected ... "Connor would not say whether that suspect is Christopher Coleman, whose wife, Sheri, 31, and sons Garett, 11, and Gavin, 9, were found dead in their bedrooms last week."

The bed report came from another online source that was quoted in the first thread. The post report this a.m. is the first I've seen from a media source that says specifically where they were found. It does give some credibility to the report from last week that said they were all found in bed covered by sheets; but bedroom is vague. Could have been the floor as well.

Geez, you guys are taking this "immediately" statement to be as literal as humanly possible. What, did he start calling the minute he got in his vehicle in the driveway? C'mon, let's get real.

Even if CC is guilty, is he so dumb as to leave and call 5 minutes later?

Immediately started calling could mean 15 minutes - about the time he would get to the gym in South County.

Per the Major, he indicated the following:

CONNOR: He left his house at 5:43 AM, and then shortly thereafter, started calling his house, realized that nobody was answering. And on his way back at around 6:50 is when he made the phone call to the Columbia Police Department.

GRACE: Major, why did he immediately start calling back to his home? He just left there. Why was he calling back at 5:45 AM?

CONNOR: He was making sure that the kids were getting up for school.

So you're right - the word immediately is pretty quick to judge, but we can conclude it was shortly thereafter - that's it. We don't have a time for the calls, pings, records, etc.

As always, thanks for your input!

Mel

Pardon the language, but they would have been "fresh" and TOD would probably have been determined at the scene before the bodies were removed.

The only thing we know so far is the manner of death is homicide, I haven't heard whether LE has a COD or not.

I agree with all that you've written here. Too bad we don't have more details.

Back to the murders at hand: Reading about the 17 or 14 months (can't recall at the moment) that it took this State's Attorney to bring charges is concerning to me. I realize that we want them to get all of their ducks in a row, to be certain, but it looks like LE and the State's Attorney had almost two years to get themselves straight in Twila Wiley's death and didn't. Not encouraging to me.

This county has always been cautious when it comes to filing charges.
Back in the early 1970's when my father was beaten and shot in the back during domestic violence between his then wife, her children and his youngest son, it took 6 months for them to hold an inquest. And 7 months for the Grand Jury to hold hearings to decide that no one would be charged in his death and that was even with the Illinois State Police saying all along that the shooting was overkill due to the blows he took to the head making it impossible to be able to fight with anyone, and that he was already down when he was shot in the back. At the time this happened all the hearings were held in Waterloo. Not sure if that is still the case though.

Oh, I think CC made plenty of mistakes. Writing on wall, etc. seems so obviously staged, apparently they can match handwriting samples even if the the writing is sloppy. Kind of ironic, like can't you see the "writing on the wall". this guy is an idiot if he thinks he's going to get away with this...maybe he hired somebody to do it for him.

I haven' been able to read all the posts today, but I can imagine JMM has got to be devasted by this, if she and her family did know him well. Has there been any statement from them>

These two beautiful boys and their mother, it makes me sick to think their lives have come to an end....this is happening way to frequently now. Something is very very wrong where people think the answer is just to get rid of anybody that gets in your way.
