There is a lot we do know:

1. 3 people are dead by homicide.
2. Husband has a shaky alibi.
3. Husband was cheating.
4. House was put into his name only months before.
5. Threats were made, but LE could not determine there was any criminal activity involved.
6. Husband was negligent on security issues at home when it was his profession.
7. Threat or Threats were left on the inside wall or walls of the home.
8. Calls were made to home and to LE before finding the bodies which was suspicious.
9. LE has determined it was not random, but isolated.
10. LE tailed husband openly.
11. LE asked specifically for people who knew the family to come forward with information. (Was not a general plea for information.)
12. No forced entry into the home.
13. Victims found in bedrooms.
14. Husband hired an attorney hours after the murders.
15. A court order had to be issued to obtain fingerprints from husband.
16. Husband did not notify her family of the deaths and did not speak to them for 2 days.
17. Husband did not allow time for her family to attend the funeral and held up their request for a separate one to be held in Chicago.
18. Husband was not included in being a target, but threats were supposedly against his affiliation to JMM.

I am sure there are more things, but these are what I can toss out off the top of my head. Feel free to add more!

Summation of the above does not add up to murder by Coleman.

yes, I was told that the Detective in the subdivsion, has indeed seen the threats and knows that they are indeed letters or paper.

instead of being hand delivered.........were any of them sent by mail, with postage etc.?

  • #763
yes, a lot of people do not have fences. We have a stupid homeowners association and you have to receive a written approval from the board to build a fence and it must be within certain guidelines. Also, as I stated earlier, a lot of people view those houses as "starter houses" so they don't build fences till all of the work is done outside and around. Since the people with the pool, have a fence around their pool, they likely don't want a fence by the lake. Also, the lake is stocked and in fact is hosting a catfish fishing tournament latter next month. So, since no swimming is allowed, the people who were willing to pay the extra $10,000 for a house on the lake, most likely like to fish or have a boat.

PS. ChesterGal, where are you and what is the extra "cop car" kinda presence where you are?

I don't want to disclose my exact location in Chester - only that I live here.
I will say I am not really new to WS or other cases.
I followed the Levy & Smart cases heavily and even posted here briefly during those cases.
I don't recall what my old WS username was because it has been so long ago.

Just know that official eyes are on CC 24 hours a day. How many pairs of eyes I will not disclose since the MCS made their announcement yesterday around 3pm.

if messages were sent in mail, then they wouldn't need the camera on the mailbox as only the postal workers would deliver them. Also, the coleman's could let the post office know and they could stop the mail. Or perhaps the LE coudl check the letters or even the stamps for prints or DNA. I know I always touch a stamp with some finger and the old stamps still require some licking.

  • #766
what are you basing that statement on? Did Coleman tell you that himself?
No! He did not tell me.

I base it on the actions of LE from the onset of the case. If they had a photo of the perp putting a threatening letter into the mailbox...the photo would be all over the media in an effort to find the perp or to gather information about him being in the area on the morning of the murders.

  • #767
Oh you silly head Stella,

The perp was probably hiding in the haystacks so that he/she could sneak into the back window when she heard the father's car roll off to the gym in the morning.:bang:

W

Something we can agree on! And since the hay bales weren't that large in total, this brings in a new "wrinkle".. it would have to be a very small person to hide in those bales. :)...someone very diminished in stature .. as in a dwarf.

,,, all the above said in jest .. lest anyone reads into "now suspecting a dwarf" did it

I thought the same thing, but my wife mentioned that it could be just left there as a memorial, like the flowers, card and pictures left on the steps of Kirkwood City Hall after the murders there or those flowers you see at the site of a fatal car accident.

agreed

Summation of the above does not add up to murder by Coleman except in the minds of the swiftboaters here.
Maybe not in court, but it does give us a direction to go in trying to figure out who the POI/Suspect could be. LE will have the evidence to insure their case, but right now...it does appear they have concentrated their efforts on Chris Coleman.

Just FYI. There was very little information on the local news tonight and nothing new. Also, Major Jeff Connors is the Assistant Police Chief of Granite City, IL.

SS..

Another thing we know, LE has only interviewed CC once... the day of the murders. I would think there would have been several interviews in a case of this magnitude. Heck, I'd be camped out at the PD begging them to talk to me to try to gain any info I could provide.

Has anybody found the link to the pics that were taken the day of the murders? They were out there somewhere and I wanted to look at them again, but having no luck. TIA

That goes contrary to what the pastor, who I would think might be inclined to defend a brother in Christ rather than casting aspersions (which I think is the stance JMM has taken ... not to cast aspersions because they probably don't know any more than any of us does), stated who said something to the effect of "LE questioning Coleman many times and 'trying to pin it on him.'"

Not saying you're wrong Stella ... we have 2 different accounts.

CHESTER -- Following a 30 minute conference at his father's home on Wednesday, where police in several vehicles kept up a nearby surveillance, Christopher Coleman resigned his security job with Joyce Meyer Ministries.

"After an internal inquiry, it was discovered that Chris Coleman had failed to follow a ministry policy during his employment. During discussion with Mr. Coleman on Wednesday he submitted his resignation," Joyce Meyer spokesman Roby Walker said.

Walker drove past staked-out cops and into the driveway of the Rev. Ronald Coleman's home in Chester on Wednesday, where he entered through a rear door and stayed about 30 minutes. He would not provide any details on what policy Coleman was alleged to have violated. Neither Coleman nor his father, pastor of Grace Church Ministries in Chester, could be reached for comment.

Police seized "electronic equipment" connected to Christopher Coleman's former security job, Walker said, but would not describe what it was or how it had been used.

"As there is an ongoing investigation, the ministry can't comment on any specifics," he said. "However, we are working with investigators and are thankful that they are doing their very best to solve this crime."

Attorney William Margulies, who works in a St. Louis law firm with his father Art Margulies and represents Christopher Coleman, said he knows only that his client resigned his position.

"I don't know any details other than that," he said.

Margulies said that neither Christopher Coleman nor his parents are making any public comment "at this point."

The Major Case Squad of the Greater St. Louis Area was called in about 7 a.m. May 5 by Columbia police to investigate after police discovered the bodies of Christopher Coleman's wife Sheri, 31, and their two sons, Garett, 11 and Gavin, 9. The three had been strangled in the family's home in a well-kept Columbia subdivision.

Christopher Coleman had called police earlier that morning from a St. Louis gym and asked that they check on the well-being of his family, saying he couldn't reach them by telephone.

The Major Case Squad will continue working today and update the status of the investigation, Connor said.

Has everyone read this? Is this a reliable source? I didn't realize he was no longer employed... sorry if it's just me out of the loop here...

No. No. No. A Ninja dwarf! Get it right...

hehehe

That's the one that gets me. I mean, I can see getting an attorney at some point because obviously they are going to look at you as a suspect, but within hours of the murders???

Depends on if Coleman felt the police were trying to implicate him.

I'd hire an attorney myself even in the face of innocence... things aren't like they used to be.

Welcome to WS, ALT~ Thanks for the information. :)

So I am going to resist my naturally skeptical urges here and just ask, from any who know, what is the ministry policy that CC violated? Or the official party line anyway. Maybe the extramarital one? A little late for counseling... but no really. Im beginning to wonder if this wife may have been one of the millions of women who remain in a marriage at their (and/or their childrens') peril because they are told it's the "right thing" to do...

Oh...but back to what the criminal defense attorney said:

>>If there are no eyewitnesses and no confessions, it HAS to be proven by forensic evidence. At this time, the State of Illinois has a backlog of months in examining forensic evidence (this would be done in Springfield, IL.)<<

No eyewitnesses: what murderer invites these? what murderer doesn't snuff an eye witness they can before anyone can intervene

Has to be proven by forensic evidence: now we know why the state's attorney wants to wait.

Backlog of months in examining forensic evidence, Springfield: might the investigators have gone there to say -- please don't make us wait for this, can't you please test this now -- we know the perp.

W
Well now, don't you know, most murderers always say "Hey, watch this!!!" before doing their deed. I MEAN, COME ON!!! /scarcasm

Well...guess JMM isn't going to "stand by" their employee. No surprise after the news of the stripper girlfriend came out yesterday, but it does say a bit about their feelings towards Chris at this point. D i s t a n c i n g. . . .

Thanks, KiKi! I read what appeared to be a rumor that CC was "fired" yesterday & I've looked off & on today for more info....Looks like CC doesn't work for JMM any longer since he resigned - so that must've been how the rumor was started.

Reading your article, it appears (to me anyway) he was allowed to resign vs. being fired...hmmm...can hardly wait to find out what policy he failed to adhere to.

Give us your theory. Who would go to such great lengths to do this?

easy .. someone who had it out for Coleman as has been reported ... "threats in relation to his security position with JMM"

it could be as simple as someone that was miffed they were not allowed access to JM for a meeting ... or something as bizarre as someone offended they were refused entrance into a JMM dome meeting because of security concerns

I have NO IDEA ... but I believe the threats are real and credible and Artie has given some "legs" to that for those of you who question if they even exist by stating the detective in the subdivision that was asked to "watch" the house saw them

I'm sure they are also on file .. if I were receiving any kinds of threats .. I'd have them in the hands of LE too ..
