From PD regarding resignation:

"Sources close to the investigation say Coleman had met up with a Florida woman described as his girlfriend while on trips for the ministry."

JMM was in Florida for most of Feb., but this seems to indicate she met him other places as well. She obviously wasn't involved with the ministry. She was on a waitress salary so it wouldn't be a stretch to think he was paying for her trips to meet him. Interesting.

Please note: I'm not saying what he said was true. Just passing along what these folks at JMM are saying. It kindof makes me question what they know that I don't and also it makes me feel wierd about how passive they are. It's as though what we see isn't going on at all. The girlfriend/affair thing? "He messed up like a lot of men. Doesn't make him a murderer." True but still. I don't know. Wierd. They're acting so strange...maybe I'm the strange one.

I have thought about this a great deal. I think sometimes, people/we have such a hard time believing that someone we liked, someone we trusted, someone we had faith in, someone we thought was just like us, is capable of doing something so horrendous. It is as if by admitting that our son/brother/co-worker/neighbor/church member did this, our own abilities of who we trust, who we are is called into question. It is can be hard to admit we are wrong. Misjudging someones character- and even in some situation where we just trusted someone, they betrayed us in someway is very hard to admit.

Recently, I suffered a betrayal by someone I trusted. Nothing compared to murder, but, hard all the same. I have had to admit that in this case, in real life, my "hinky meter" wasn't working. Well, that isn't true, it was actually working fine, but, I ignored it. So, if that is hard, I can't imagine how having to face the fact that someone close to me slaughtered their wife and two young sons.

Denial is a coping mechanism for many.

Would you be open to the possibility that the "threatening letters" were actually a method devised by Chris to make Sheri feel threatened? I know how much you love speculation & rumors, but a lot of them are proving true in this case so far (the affair, for instance) The big rumor right now is that they were actually seperated. Take that FWIW, and then let's talk motive.

You're asking us to be open minded to CC being not guilty, I'm asking you to be open to the possibility that he did in fact commit this crime.

WOW! Could he have been staying in the home in Affton then, which is why the MCS was paying so much attention to it? That is really something.

It is difficult to know how the people of Grace Church are really feeling, but they will support their Pastor's family. I expect them to defend him until the end and probably beyond.

The people who follow JMM aren't going to be so willing to jump on that wagon, imo. They will follow what JM dictates by her actions and we have already seen how they are handling the situation.

I think it will take time for a lot of people to even believe he cheated on his wife. They can make all the excuses they want for him, but it won't change any of the facts in this case.

So I thought I'd log on. Suprised to see this case made it to the cnn headlines. I need to go back and read the posts -- seems to be a lot of action going on.

The squad turned over evidence to the prosecutor Wednesday and announced that one lone killer, whose name was not revealed, has been identified.

I guess our questions will be answered soon....

Morning everyone!

With all due respect, this makes no sense to me. Frame him how? By sending threatenting messages to his family, killing his family when he is out of the house and then leaving a message something to the effect of "I told you this would happen" on the wall of his home after the murders? If that's all there was here, I might agree with your point of view. But, what we have are several things that Chris himself did that caused Chris to look like the guilty party. In fact, pretty much everything Chris has done - having an affair, putting the house and cars in his name recently, apparently having a loud argument at @ 3:00 a.m. when he was admittedly still home on the morning of the murders, lawyering up mere hours after the murders, compelling LE to seek a Court order for fingerprintsrather than campijng on their doorstep and voluntarily giving whatever they wanted, not notifying his wife's family about his wife and sons' demise for two whole days, then acting strange with them about allowing them to say goodbye at the funeral - all of THAT is what makes me feel he is guilty. So how did the real killer force Chris to do all that? Because forcing him to act like he's guilty as hell is the only way a framing scenario makes sense here. IMO.

Hi,

Thankfully, I'm no criminal -- but the lawyering up mere hours after the murder confuses me. How do you retain a lawyer so fast unless you researched in advance? Do ya just flip open the yellow pages and say eenie-meanie-miney-moe? Don't most lawyers want to speak with you first?

Or, did he already have an attorney prior to the murders (again, that would be odd to me too).

Do we know anything about the attornies? Are they part of the ministry, and that's how he got his hands on them so quick?

Darn - too many unanswered questions.

Best,

Mel

:furious:
I mean WHO DOES THIS????? Ever hear of a d-i-v-o-r-c-e??!!!! And these precious innocent boys I can't take it!!

Ok I'll recompose myself now sorry carry on....

:parrot:

:furious:You know, if there is a clause about "extramarital affairs" in CC's previous employment contract and so that is his "excuse" to viciously murder his beautiful family, I hope he gets the DP.

In fact, if he is proven guilty in a court of law, I pretty much hope he gets the DP no matter what his damn excuse is going to be! I can't describe how angry I am at these HATE CRIMES against women and children! :furious:

The girlfriend is still an "alleged" girlfriend ... the dismissal could be based on that .. and I hate to go into speculation because I don't like to cast asperions ... but if Coleman visited her at the "gentleman's" club I'm pretty certain that would be grounds for dismissal .... any variety of behaviors that are contrary to the guidelines set out for the employees .. short of an employee handbook, it's only speculative based on what little is known

I had suspected the ministry would distance themselves from Coleman and I don't think it was done for damage control but simply for the reason stated.

I'm still trying to catch up here, but I just wanted to make a comment here about the 'girlfriend' vs 'alleged girlfriend.'

I don't know if it's just me or what, but IF it were ME being connected to a horrible crime such as this and IF I in fact didn't know this guy or was NOT his 'girlfriend,' I certainly would proclaim that information from the highest tree-top!

"It's NOT me! I was NOT having an affair with this man!"

No, rather than a DENIAL by the 'alleged other woman,' we hear from her family, "No, we have no comment and we will NEVER have a comment." or something close to that.

This NON denial sounds like an admission to me. :bang:

Course, who am I? and That's just me and all that stuff.

Has the rumor that there was additional life insurance purchased in Dec 08 for Sherri been discussed yet? If that is true...happening after her name is removed from their home....My gosh, how did CC really think he would get away with all of this? If he had been planning this for so many months, I would think he shared something with his GF!!!

Joyce Meyer Employee Rules

1) If married... you are to remain married to your spouse, if you divorce your spouse you will fired from JMM.

2) If you are suspected of murdering your wife to keep your employment at JMM you will also be fired by JMM.
LOL...

This presents an interesting point. A Christian would surely stand by a brother in his time of need following such a tragedy. Then again, as Christians, they can't actually stand by a brother they KNOW to be a murderer. I'm sure JMM will pray for him, but to continue to support him otherwise may create the perception they condone what they know he has done.

That certainly may not be what's happening with JMM. But it could be. Based on what WE know, it seems a bit early in the game for them to withdraw their support entirely.

IMO

I had seen a 'blog entry' on the news site regarding Chris' departure from JMM yesterday. That particular poster has been correct in the past of their mentioning unconfirmed circumstances in this case that later come to fruition. I'd asked here if anyone had heard anything and at that time I said I didn't believe it because for both sides, it wouldn't be a 'good thing.' Like you said, 'it seems a bit early in the game.........'

I'm bettin' there's going to be some BOMBSHELL evidence linked to the JMM organization. No.......please! I'm NOT saying that anyone from JMM is linked to the crime (well, I dunno)...............EXCEPT allegedly the husband, Chris. But he MAY have used SOMETHING from the employer which will be COMPLETELY against the church or propriety or whatever.

I have an idea but I'm not going to say right now. I'm not psychic, just nosey! or a gamblin' person but as it is a 'bet' on my part, I'm not going to say 'what' now as it COULD start rumors. There's enough of those already going around.

I think there's more to his departure from his employer than we know or may think! ;)

I'm still trying to catch up here but saw your comment. I only saw that mentioned once, yesterday. I can't even recall if it was here or somewhere else I saw that.

I haven't seen anything other than rumor.....once.........so I'd wait on that. But you're right, IF it was true, how would he think he'd get away with this? oh,...........IF he's the perp! ;)

Can a legal eagle help me please? Is this restraining order just in regards to the bodies of Sherri and the boys, or is it an order against CC to protect the whole family?

http://www.ksdk.com/news/pdfs/colemanaffidavit.pdf

I'm not a legal person but I believe this was just a copy of what was originally filed and allowed by a judge's order last week. It was the order allowing Sheri's family to take her and the boy's to Cook County for Sheri's family to have their service. If you read it, it also states the time of the service in Cook County and the time the bodies were to be returned for burial.

A source close to Coleman’s family has told that this latest action on behalf of the as-yet-unamed potential suspect in the case is due to a romantic hideaway property owned by Coleman’s employer that was the “love lair” of Coleman and his extramarital love interest.

has withheld Coleman’s lover “Largos” true identity. I have learned this individual has been told not to speak to the media: She will be called as a material witness in the Grand Jury review on Coleman’s case

Whenever someone has the time, could you forward me the info. on this? Thanks in advance! :)
