My heart goes out to Sheri's family. Who knows what he may have thrown out that they would want to keep. It all just seems so unfair since even though her name wasn't on the deed, her personal posessions were inside the home.

By accounts, the family only loaded up a trailer. I doubt that trailer could hold the household contents. So it's highly unlikely that things were "thrown out" ... have there been reports that the household contents were completely moved out?

Then how can one infer that "things were thrown out"? and that Sheri's family "didn't get anything"?

This is emotional speculation based on a news account, not on fact or an eyewitness account,

This could muddy the waters. Here we have a man who has a "shady" past ... if, and IF .. Chris and the Largo woman were having an affair (I don't believe everything the newspaper reports .. the media is no longer just reporting "facts" but all sort of salacious innuendo and rumor) .. this case is being tried by the public and the media ...

I'm not implicating the ex ...but hey .. if he was upset his ex allegedly was having an affair ... he doesn't like like a spotless character at all.

Maybe he had some 'associations" ... never know.

That's why I'm trying to find out CC's dates of employment with JMM and when TL and CC hooked up (again). (2004 seems to be the year in question).

This is eerily similar to the Entwistle case, imo. Husband is claiming someone broke into the home within an hour period of time in the morning and killed his family while he was at the gym?? It doesn't quite look like that kind of neighborhood to me.

I have to agree with this. Random breakin/robbery type murders are more prolific in Urban areas and Family murders/family murder suicides are more prolific in suburban and rural areas. So far this case is fitting the mold. CC wasn't very original.

whoa! ... a blaze of glory?

me thinks minds are working overtime

I wouldn't be bothered if I lived next door

thanks for the comic relief ... I just don't see CC like the rest of you do but hey ...

I don't anticipate a blaze of glory scenario either. However, that is based on my opinion that CC continues to believe he is smarter than everyone else and he will get away with what he has done.

Good evening all! Trying to catch up, but there is something nagging at me and I'm not sure if it's been covered previously.

IIRC, we aren't sure of the exact hours of CC's shift at JMM. I've been wondering if he was actually scheduled to work the night before and didn't go in for *some* reason. Also, does it strike anyone as odd that the head of security for such an organization would be working the graveyard shift at all? Particularly if his duties included the physical protection of JM. Seems to me this would have been more of a 9 to 5 kinda job.

From what I understand he was the head of security for his shift only. There is probably a head of security for the day and swing shift too.

It has been obvious from day one that the husband is as guilty as sin. Who leaves their home to go to the gym at 6 am and then calls the police an hour later and says he is worried cause he can't get ahold of his wife...would LE go check on the family! He set it up so it would be LE that found them instead of him. Who gets that worried at that time in the morning cause his wife didn't answer the phone! Most people are still asleep at that time in the morning. Everything that he did to set up the crime is something a 10 yr old would do. The writing on the wall was really dumb.

I know that jurys like to know what the motive of a crime was. I do too. This guy might have just decided that he didn't want to be tied down by a family. He was already having an affair and maybe he wanted to be free to spread his charm.....I don't know why any woman would even look at him once much less twice. He certainly isn't anything to look at. Maybe he is another Scott Peterson and just wanted freedom.

You can bet he is #1 on the list of suspects. Won't be long until he feels those cold metal handcuffs get slapped on his wrists. You can bet on that.
I agree and just wanted to add something I heard being discussed ~ that the ministry wouldn't allow adultery, he supposedly had a girlfriend, and couldn't live up to the expectations of not only his job but his family. What I'm missing from being behind and catching up here is if he, Sheri and the boys were actively involved in JMM or was he just an employee? *If* he is the one who committed the murders, it is possible he could no longer live the lie and wanted to be free of JMM and his family. MOO

It was stated on NG that he worked for JMM at least five years.

I was basing my question on him not notifying Sheri's family of the murders for 48 hours (as said on Nancy's show tonight) and what was in the article. I also speculated in my post with "what he may have thrown out", not a fact that he did. MOO

the only date I found so far was that CC & SC moved to Columbia in 2005.

"the couple met while she was at an Air Force base. She was in the Air Force and he was in the Marines. Then when they got married, they were in St. Louis, and then they moved to Columbia, Illinois, where -- in 2005"

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not seeing this as some are.
I thought the hang-up was SA. Connor and team have turned in their evidence and said they solved the case. Prosecutor says, hold up, I want to wait for tox reports.
SO, we are at a stand still for now.
IMO

I'm glad you understood what I meant. Most often crimes committed during morning hours around sunrise would be after everyone has left the house. But in such a short period of time for a random killing of three people by strangulation, I'm inclined to believe that it was not a stranger. And it seems LE also is of this opinion since they are calling it an isolated incident and not warning the public of a predator at large. MOO

Sheri and Chris were both involved in the ministry in various ways. They led Bible study classes and also financial advice seminars in the home. Sheri was planning on going to Africa and to Europe this summer on mission trips. (She had previously been to Cambodia and other places with another organization, IIRC. World Outreach, I think.) Sheri and the boys were members of the Destiny church and were active within their church, too.

I think he wanted to maintain his position at JMM and be the "grieving" father/husband to that congregation, JM, and his father's congregation (his father is the pastor of the Grace Church). The job gave him many perks with the travel and the houses where he could carry on his affair with Miss Motive.

Good to see you too :) and thanks so much for the additional background that gives me more understanding of what could have happened. I didn't realize his father was also a pastor and how much that was part of his upbringing and life. It's already been said that adultery wasn't an option to keep his employment and it also seems divorce may not be looked favorably upon either. MOO

Hey SS,

Your post leaves me with the impression that all activies in the first paragraph were carried out under the umbrealla of JMM.

I don't think you meant that .. but it reads that way to someone unawares.

JMM does lots of missionary work ... don't know if Sheri's missionary trips were with JMM but I do know from the website link the financial seminar was in conjunction with Destiny Church.

Joyce Myers has stated that CC resigned his job with her organization. You are right, he broke the Morals Clause. Having a girlfriend is really a no no. I believe I heard that Joyce Myers knew the family quite well and so I assumed that they are a part of her church. I don't know if you have ever heard her preach but she is really wonderful. I love to listen to her. Anyway, I may be wrong but I believe she knew the whole family. I think he resigned because the news is blasting this girlfriend all over the place and he knew Joyce would hear and ask him about it. He didn't really have a choice but to resign.

I hate these cases. Why won't these guys just get a divorce instead of murdering the wife or the whole family? They have to know that they will get caught and go to prison. In the end I really wonder if it was worth it. A question I would love to ask some of these guys including my daughter's ex-husband.

An atty wouldn't lie about this would he (?) - so it doesn't look too good for CC to have withheld this info from his high-powered defense atty.

wow.
I only have two words for you: Jose Baez. 'Nuff said.

There are many times when my dh doesn't get a hold of me if he calls during the day when I'm still at home. I might be in the shower or outside doing something. It's never occured for him to call the police for a wellfare check or to contact a family member or a neighbor to check. If he doesn't get me he'll just try again later, if he was so worried then get your own butt home and do the checking. Everything to this story stinks to high heaven and it's just beyond me how a father could do this to those little boys!
