There was 2.09 in. of rain on April 27th, a trace on April 28th, 2.13 in. on April 29th, .04 in. on April 30th, .32 in. on May 1st, and a trace on May 2nd. This could account for the dampness in the basement.

Consider this scenario .. the paint was stored in the basement. The killer left the message on the way out.

Very very possible, and makes sense. Perp then leaves with the can or pen (as we don't know what it was written with) and dumps it on the way to the gym (sorry couldn't resist).

Do you think it was an afterthought on the way out? If CC did this, he leaves via the basement window and then gets in the car? Or is the car in the garage?

If the perp left a message in the basement and CC didn't do this, how long do you think it would take for it to be noticed by Chris. I'm not sure how many people use basements (never had one) -- but my thought is it's a place to store Christmas ornaments, and would be cold and possibly damp.

Of course the cops found it right away, but just wondering why the basement when inside the house would be a more threatening spot (IMHO).

Hmmm...I have another possible reason for the basement being damp. I wonder if the house had a sink down there? Maybe he took the time to clean himself up a bit before going to the gym after he did the message thing?

Yeahhhh - the perp probly worked up a good sweat during the crime...cleaning up in the basement vs in the master bath next to his victim may have put some psychological distance between himself & the murder before he had to walk out of the house like he did "on a normal day".

oh, oh -- just had a thought. If LE found damp footprints in the basement (NOT CONFIRMED) that would mean the exit would have been very recent. I'm not quite sure what "damp" means when referred to on Nancy Grace -- only stating the basement was damp.

If CC knew the notary personally there's a good chance she/he may have signed off on it w/o Sheri being there. We have done that before. My husband signed a doc, and I took his license with me and our friend signed off on it. No it's not legal. but it is possible. Just sayn

Or someone who wasn't SC went with him to the notary and signed SC's name to the documents. Most likely though she signed willingly. It wouldn't surprise me if he used some faith based man is the head of the woman carp to persuade her to sign documents to take her name off the title to the house. I wonder if that included taking her name off the mortgage.

Very considerate. I would think if a perp was really out to hurt Chris, he would have wanted to leave the scene very messy. I don't want to sound too morbid, but if the perp wanted to hurt CC, wouldn't it make more sense to kill them in such a way that CC would know that they really suffered ?

OT I was so excited to have a new 2009 forensic file on tonight! Most of them I have seen more than once. Between forensic shows and WS my husband thinks I'm morbid and looking for the perfect way to get away with killing him. He should know by now there's no such thing as a perfect murder he's safe.:crazy:

If that were the case it would definitely be a red flag to LE if the A/C were on when they arrived. I don't imagine the outdoor temperature at that time of day would've warranted it?

We might be looking at another major flood in the area this year.

In this case it wouldn't help him...it would hurt him since the body temperature needed to be warmer. The body temp after death decreases a degree per hour. Since he was only gone an hour plus a few...the body temps should have been at 97 degrees or above still.

Yes, such as gunshot or stabbing, at least to make the scene more horrendous when he would arrive home. Aside from the "Boston Strangler" the way Sheri and the boys were killed doesn't seem to be something a stranger would do about the time people would be waking up in the morning. :waitasec:

I know there was a rumor the other day that the insurance policy was increased in I think November. I was going to post on that and I forgot. Your post reminded me of it. If Sheri was teaching financial classes on the Dave Ramsey material. Then there is a good chance that is why they upped their insurance. I listen to his radio show and have his material. He recommends every one to up there insurance to 10x what they make yearly. We did do this. So I can see them doing that. Again I think he is guilty by his actions until someone proves him innocent!:furious:

He would've had to refinance to remove her from the mortgage. Which is a very good possiblity. Removing her from the deed is strange. Most people only do this when someone dies or they get divorced. Even if they refinance usually the spouse's name is left on the deed.

Add: The mortgage on our home is in my husband's name but my name is on the deed. My credit is not as good as his and I'm self employed and it's a pain to go stated income on a mortgage. ( I sell Real Estate)

You would have to admit that a man having an affair who ups his wife's life insurance, makes certain the wife's name is not on the home or the cars, and then the wife turns up murdered within 6 months does look very suspicious...Yes?

Joyce doesn't have a church in terms of a typical church that meets weekly.

I read a news account today where the ministry would not specify the reason for resignation/termination.

I know she doesn't have a typical church but she is on TV quite often. She didn't come right out and say why he resigned but you can pretty well put 2+2 together. I wonder if she thinks he is guilty or not. She will never say.
