I think he was joking but I have to laugh ... NOT at the expense of Sheri .. but the verbal picture he painted ... laughing at the verbal picture of mothers everywhere saying "I told you what would happen if you did that again!"

Unfortunately in this day and age Mothers do kill their kids to get back at Dad's although in this case I do not think Sheri had anything to do with this.

No jury would ever believe that especially if the manner in which they were all killed was the same. He'd be better off with the mysterious person who sent the threatening notes even though the timeline stinks! MOO

"threats in connection with his job at JMM" ... let's just suppose for a minute .. maybe Coleman was very loyal to JM ... perhaps he saw some "indiscretion" at the ministry ... whatever it might be ... and out of loyalty and obligation he didn't "spill the beans" ... let's say someone ELSE knew of this same "indiscretion" ... and threatened Coleman with the consequences if he didn't make the revelation

it could be some surveillance that only Coleman had access to ... therefore only he could "disclose" it

yes .. I know ... spinning out there .. but only trying to think of a scenario if in case your "what if" were true

it would have to be very "serious" goods .. the kind that make or break someone and their reputation, IMO

"If", major "if", JM had issues or was afraid of what CC had, why not murder him? Take him out. So many ways that could have been done. Then, turn around and support the grieving wife and sons. To murder 3 innocents in such a way? No. Sorry, but I do not buy it for one moment. Not for a nano second.

so we can finally rule out the whole zip-tie discussion and the deed is a non-issue.

Sounds like we have here a messy monster murderer who thought he was so much smarter than everyone and he is going down.

Basically this just another murder case with a murderer that was not very smart.
He thought he had plan that LE/MCS would not catch on to.
He slipped up badly and LE and forensics is pulling that together now with evidence they gathered.
The motive is simple... He wanted out of the marriage and wanted to be free of any major responsibilities. He thought he could get away with it.

So, maybe this is what happened.

One of the kids leaves the basement window open, a strong breeze blows water into the basement off the lake in their backyard, getting the floor wet.

SC goes into a rage, and accidentally kills one or both of the kids and then spray paints "I told you this would happen" (if you left the door open) on the basement wall.

CC comes home and finds both of his children dead and strangles SC in retribution. He then decides that nobody will believe that he didn't kill all three of them, takes the DVD from the recorder and heads to the gym. And we all know the rest.

I can appreciate Nancy's attention to victims....however, she is often - dare I say - misinformed, IMO....we had a good discussion about the 'basement' message last week & why it really didn't sound quite right to some of us.....NEhoo I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone using a scenario such as the one you presented.

It's as "solid" as any Scott Peterson & Geragos tried.

IIRC the call to LE came in just before 7am, so it was about 1-1/4 hrs. total time between when he left home and the 'welfare check' call.

This time frame is worse than OJ's! He's either got the killer already inside the house or waiting right outside for him to leave. And since he was only going to the gym how would the killer not know that CC would come home sooner? Unless the killer wasn't some stranger just waiting for an opportunity. MOO

What other moral codes did he break? Not buying the having JMM's electronic equipment as to why he "resigned". The affair was reported and she washed her hands as quick as she possibly could.

I've been asking that from the get-go and haven't gotten an answer. Plus did he really get sweaty? If the timeline reported ... left house @ 5:43 and arrived back @ 6:50 is correct; that doesn't leave much time for a workout. From my guess; only 35 minutes. Who only works out for 35 minutes?

We need TOD!!! My guess is 3 a.m.

My thoughts exactly, Analytical....

For CC to kill his own sons....and I know it has been done before....is just sureal....It would have to take real evidence...to convince me of that.

I am leanin toward CC had dirty goods on JM and her master suite video cam in her bedroom....and he had to be silenced....what better way to shut him up than off everything he cares about...

Lets see if anyone bites on that....

Wouldn't it be easier to 'off' the problem? That seems rather convoluted, in order to silence him it would seem he would be the target, not his family.
