This comment kills me!
It reminds me of my youngest (9) asking me about Caylee :(

As I loaded my three children in the car this morning, I failed to notice I had left 1120 AM on the radio (you know, my time riding home from work)...before I even realized, my eldest boy heard, "Coleman charged with killing his wife and two children by strangulation...." I could not get KidzBop on fast enough! My son asked me what strangulation meant...and of course, I told him the truth...then he looked at me and said, "do dad's really kill their children?"...I was horrified...what do I say now??? I told him it was something that we could discuss but it was not the best time to do so. I lied to my kid. Truth is, what do I tell my boy? As an adult mother of three children I cannot fathom the thought of doing something to my children like what was done to the Coleman boys. Belive me, mine are 8, 6 1/2 and 4 and I can tell you that at times my nerves are BEYOND fried....but....you continue on....because "THIS TOO SHALL PASS". Just a shame...the whole situation is such heartbreak to so many.

All parents face those uncomfortable questions! They're tough. I think it is age-appropriate to explain to an elementary school-aged child that just like some people get sick in their bodies, other people have illness in their brain and their souls - illness that can make them do terrible unusual things like hurt other people, even their own children.

So sad, but not surprised, that evidence points to the father in this case. My continued prayers for all the family.

There are some echoes of Bobby Cuts (from here near Cleveland) in this case with regards to his confidence that he wouldn't be caught (seemingly) and with how quickly you could tell LE knew who they were looking at as the perpetrator. They too waited it out a bit before going after him. IF all of those parallels are any indicator, then hopefully there will also be a parallel with regards to those who knew what had happened and helped. Bobby's accomplice rolled over. Hopefully this floozie (wow grandma would be so proud I just used that word!) will talk now too if she knows anything.

Welcome to Websleuths, Girlygirl1! It certainly seems like authorities have been deliberate in putting together their case. Where does the other woman live?

On that note, I'd like to know how some of our locals feel now that Chris Coleman has been arrested.

I am happy the 🤬🤬🤬 is behind bars and I hope he never walks the earth in this lifetime a free man.

I hope and pray that the children who knew the boys, and the neighbors, friends and family of Sheri can sleep easier knowing they made the arrest. Like others, I hope he pleads out quickly to spare everyone a long trial.

Can't decide which is more disturbing to me:

1) Sheri knew CC was dangerous and was having an affair and was too afraid to tell her family

or

2) Sheri had NO IDEA CC was dangerous and was having an affair

She lives in Fl.
LE has already been there to talk to her.

Thanks - I do recall reading that now. Do we know how long CC and she had been carrying on?

In the case of Jennifer Wix, Jenn was having serious problems with her BF and his family. She had called her family and told them of the fighting going on and the family offered to intervene, but Jenn said she could "handle it herself". If you or a loved one is calling you and saying things like that, please seek help! In Jenn's case, her killer(s) still run free!!! :furious:

Fox news local - had video of Coleman being drove to court today.
The crowd outside were yelling at the top of their lungs... Murderer - Child Killer at the cop car he was in when it drove by.

Wow! Emotions must be running wild in that small community. It seems this trial is going to generate the same type of public reaction that the Laci Peterson case did.

This has only begun.

Neighbors React To Arrest Of Chris Coleman

May 20, 2009

COLUMBIA, IL (KTVI - FOX2now.com) - The Columbia Lakes Subdivision hasn't had any peace since the strangulation murders of Sheri Coleman and her two sons. The arrest of Sheri's husband and the children's father last night does not bring any comfort to to this close knit community. It doesn't change what happened inside the Robert Drive home.

That's the thing with murder cases. You read about, you mull it over, you watch the news articles, you watch the investigation, you form an opinion on who the perp is and you sit on pins and needles until they make an arrest.

When the arrest is finally made, whether it's a week or months or years away, it's like you were holding your breath................and you slowly exhale and then....................a reality check.......................the perp isn't going to get away with it but what?????

Dam*, those three beautiful victims are lost FOREVER!!!!!!

It's like, with murder, there can't ever be complete justice, because you want things back the way they were BEFORE the crime. But with murder,...........it's FOREVER.

This is the part I hate. All the murder cases I have followed end the same. The perp is either arrested or not,............but the victims are lost............FOREVER.

It takes just a little bit of your heart, you know?

Miss Motive has behaved in a disgusting manner! Amber Frey didn't know Scott Peterson was married with a baby on the way! Miss Motive knew CC was married with children!!! I do hope she has some goods to testify but still........people who sleep with other people's spouse's are just ASKING to destroy lives, IMO. If you want to play around, get divorced FIRST!

I'm local and I am happy. It like christmas is coming but you have to wait for it. We all knew he was guilty, except the shallow people around here who thought that no one of their caliber could do such a thing. But complaints aside, we are unfortunately stuck in a world, not a city, state or country, but a world where this type of thing happens. I don't think it has anything to do with God or the devil as it was CC's choice to do this and you can thusly tell it was all premeditated.

He was sick of his family and wanted to move away. He had his wife get off of the deed of the house and the cars, he got an additional life insurance policy on his family and he offed them, thinking he could collect, keep his job at the ministry and retire with a stripper. What part of that does not sound like it was planned. It may not have been carefully planned, but it was planned.

Fact is, he did something evil and should go to jail. Folks around here have commented that they should place him in front of a firing squad and some have said that even that is too good for him. I have heard that Columbia should set up the gallows and let him hang, whcih I think would be the best thing in this case.

Maybe they could borrow the guillotine from the Bastille Day celebration in St. Louis?
