Off Topic (one more time): I promise I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing at the thought of Joyce Meyer's family possibly managing the newspaper and thinking how she may control the media around there. LOL She is a pretty powerful woman I am finding out!

Just to add my two cents in.... You would think that the local Chester Paper would have published an "update" to the murders and what they know so far. For not a word being mentioned it does seem strange.

We have a small weekly here in Waterloo that is similar. You can pick it up on Wednesday evening. It had an article about what the MCS had found so far and a nice summation of the facts that the MCS presented to the SA office.

This is the biggest news story in this area for quite along time. I find it very strange that the local Chester scandal sheet did not find worthy of even a word, no matter when the deadline was.

I didn't see the video, and I honestly don't know if he was/is a hunter. Then again we're talking about Brad with the deer (apparently), not Chris.

If it was Brad (I assume you all know what you're talking about...so I'll say it is for this comment)...so:

The person killing the deer (or finishing off?? a deer...whatever you'd call it..dunno) is Brad (according to info here) and this case is about Chris.

Forgive me if I can't get myself to assume Chris is capable of killing a HUMAN (or 3) because Brad killed a deer.

JMO

Personally, I am glad that you have joined this forum. I think many of us shared the same opinion at first. I am very curious to know what maked this guy (CC) tick. What type of guy was he when he was young? What was his upbring like? How controling was his dad's Ministry? I think we can all agree the murder of two innocent children strangled to death in their own beds....I am sorry....it makes me angry to even rehash it...is unfathomable by a parent.

I grew up working in small town newspapers. They are usually taken to another town to be printed since most cannot afford the equipment. They are technically published when the newspaper puts them out for sale or delivery which is done from their office.

We have a once-a-week newspaper in our small town. It is distributed late Tuesday even tho it says it is a Wednesday paper. All articles have to be completed by Monday sometime. I had a friend who used to be a reporter there.

Excellent post! You made some very good points and could be right about Chris realizing he was going to be entangled not free with MM. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Unfortunately, blaming "those women" is part of their thinking due to their belief system, imo. Resisting "temptation" and all of that. However, when I mentioned his family putting the blame on Miss Motive...I was talking about the actual murders and not just about the affair. It would go along with SODDI defense and they could say SHE had the motive to kill his family. (Could be the reason if she has agreed to help the prosecution.)

Sheri would have helped her any way she could...but now I have to wonder if this is possibly how the affair started with Chris. Maybe she did ask for help in order to get closer to Chris.

I can't imagine how CC and TL hooked up. I have kept in touch with a handful of my bestest bestest friends over the years, even with one that has struggled with a life I know I don't want to know the full details of. I would never turn my back on her even but there have been times when I wish I could... I can't image how I would feel if she betrayed me like that. What kind of woman is TL that she would do this to a life long friend who's probably stood besides her when others probably didn't?

As I sit here writing this, thinking about Tara :behindbar ORDERING WEDDING INVITATIONS :rage: even though I know she didn't murder Sheri and the boys I can really see how the defense could play on the emotions of the jurors. Especially if those jurors seem to have the same mentality CC's family does.

I tossed around hunting for dirt on TL and hesitated only because she may end up being the defenses scapegoat. But h3ll, if there is any dirt on this chick if we don't get to it, Geraldo will:crazy:.

WOW I hate to make my very first post here an argument (even though I WONT argue about it, because it's just silly to argue on the internet...especially about this...and because I know what I'm going to say is correct :) )...but:

That is not true. It may "officially" be for sale on Thursday, and it's dated as Thursday's date (I think...who pays attention), but anyone can go to Motomart or either of 2 Casey's after about 10 or 10:30 PM and buy the paper on WEDNESDAY.

OT: Great site BTW. I've read every (some 6500ish) posts in these 6 threads....great site.

ETA: BTW, yes I'm from Chester...yes I knew Chris in high school (not best friends, but I knew him)...yes, I knew and worked with Brad for a relatively short time...and no I'm not convinced Chris is guilty. I won't get into the why, because alot of my "why" is intangible (just a feeling).

So...take your best shots...but I won't apologize for any of that, or anything else I think/say/feel. :)

Welcome.jpg

Don't apologize for your opinions with me! I enjoy the fact that each of us is uniquely created and how we each have our own views :-)

Thanks for the welcome. I know what you're saying about arguing vs debating. (or I could say I KWYM...that one took me a while, I admit, I was like "what the he** is a kwim" :) )

You know what? I knew what it meant and now I've forgotten!

While I know a ton of hunters, I have never been around to witness such a thing. I do know I would not have been laughing and video taping it to view repeatedly.

I am still trying to figure out why it was on U-tube under her name, too. You do make an interesting point that she could have put it up there because it was so disturbing to her. If Chris or Brad put it up...why not just use their own accounts? Why would they use her account? (Harder to find for other people until your brother kills his whole family?)

Is it possible that they had a youtube account in Sheri's name. Remember someone took the video down after she was gone.

I guess it's possible - but that would just be more strangeness, wouldn't it?
It probably could have been a number of people. I guess just about anyone could have contacted Utube and told them the circumstances of Sheri's death and the nature of the video and they probably would have deleted it because of the murder.

We already knew this, but didn't see this link on our thread yet.

<snipped> "Forensic tests showing that Christopher Coleman's wife and two sons were slain before the time he said he left home focused police attention squarely on him, sources say.

Coleman, 32, is being held without bail on charges of first-degree murder in the strangulation of the three, who were found dead May 5. He told detectives he left for a gym about 5:45 a.m.; he called police before 7 a.m., concerned that they did not answer the phone.

Police revealed that Sheri Coleman, 31, and sons Garett, 11, and Gavin, 9, were slain in their separate bedrooms on the second floor by someone who used a ligature, such as a cord. But detectives have been officially mum on details such as the time of death."

Coming from a woman's point of view, I have to think that Miss Motive felt she had a reason to justify sleeping with her friend's husband. I wonder what that justification was in her mind?

Sorry, I have to respectfully disagree. As I stated before, my brother and his son live in Alaska and hunt (during hunting season) for mook, elk, salmon. They hunt for FOOD not for thrill. My husband has been out there with em, and has filmed them. One time, my bro had to cut the neck of an elk, because the bullets were of no use. Many hunters (if there are any on this MB) know the hand to hand combat is what the kill is. A bullet is a mere way to bring the animal down. Sometimes they use bow n' arrows like they did in the good ol' days.

So what may be disturbing to all us city folk, there's another reality out there. I''ve always loved the fact that real men go out in the wilderness and hunt for their food. Compared to the idiots that put their prey in cages, feed them with filler -- until they are about to explode, then shoot them in the head. I've had both, and would most definitely want the meat that came from nature, and not from some man-made kill zone.

If anyone has seen the dance - you'll know what i'm talking about.

Best,

Melanie

You are missing the point. Finishing off an animal and hunting is not what bothers many of us. It's the fact that he claimed he didn't have a knife and then enjoyed the act of strangling an animal. The cameraman didn't have a knife? Someone near their camp didn't have one? A hunter that knows what they are doing never forgets their knife. Having to resort to strangling an animal to bring it down is unheard of and unusual. It is not the preferred method to bring an animal down. That has been the only point made about that video. No one has said anything against hunting or having to bring an animal down if your shot wasn't good enough to do the job the first time around.

Interesting point. Although to tell you the truth I still haven't gotten too much past view her as someone who's justifications are just as warped as those of a man who kills his wife and children in cold blood.

But at this point she is merely "the other woman"... who was having an affair and planed to marry her life long friend's husband. She must have rationalized her betrayal somehow, I would think that CC probably helped her along in that department though.

Agreed about CC helping her with those justifications. It seems that the adulterer usually tells the mistress stories about the spouse in order to elicite sympathy on the mistress's part. Ugh! I truly wish people would WAKE UP and realize there are VALID REASONS not to trust a cheater!

I wish we had people on the boards that know Tara, but then again, I don't know if I could handle that. :furious: I don't think that we are ever going to know what was really going through her mind, if such a thing is possible. When your having an affair with your bff's husband and the husband kills your bff and their kids I would think that your recollection is going to be clouded by a heaping dose of denial.

I could be way off on this, but since she could end up being a part of the prosecution to save her a55 and her sanity she is going to amp up the "oh poor me, I was victimized, led on etc by that horrible monster" and minimize her horrible part in this whole situation. The prosecution has their work cut out for them considering her "career".

Why would a woman who was in the air force become a stripper? It would seem like she would have much better options. I wonder if she was into drugs, I wonder if Chris was into drugs? For someone who worked out, he honestly doesn't seem to be in the best of shape...

Unless you're a cheater yourself... she was Sheri's best friend. Considering the distance and the fact that I don't remember hearing that JM went to Florida much both of them went to considerable lengths to be together.

I grew up with a man and he has never been able to stay in a relationship. Married twice, great girls. I'm really good friends with his sister and a couple years back I found out that he had SIX women on the side at one point during his marriage to his first wife. They had children. SIX women, at one time. How does one juggle all that and keep it hidden to boot?

Good questions! Another aspect to the Miss Motive issue is that there are articles like this out there: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A878204

This article actually gives you "guidelines" on how to be a mistress! This part slays me: <snipped> There is a difference for the man, and therefore for his wife, between him having a love affair and having a mistress. Too many women are left reeling with pain years, or even decades, after a man takes the taxi ride into another relationship for it to be in any way acceptable to do this. So make sure neither of you fall in love, set rules and stick to them, and if he even thinks about thinking of leaving his wife, end the affair there and then. Follow the Wiccan philosophy of 'do what you will, but do no harm'.<snipped>

These are some of the things that Miss Motive may have been reading in order to justify what she was doing was "okay". Still, somewhere along the line CC must have "proposed" to her in order for her to have the wedding invitations idea. Was she CRAZY? WHO in their RIGHT MIND would order wedding invitations when the "beloved" was still MARRIED and still living with his wife and kids???:loser:

Wonder if we are going to get any reports about what's going on with CC now that he is in jail. IIIRC they said that all the inmates were treated the same, no solitary, suicide watch. I don't know if that is common, but it sounds dangerous considering the circumstances.

I didn't go to the link, just read your snip, but I love the BBC, or BBC America, don't watch tv to much anymore. Interesting that it mentions a spiritual principle... considering CC's background he could've been warping a couple of them himself. I'm down here in Arizona, where we've got our own little cult called the FLDS. Makes anything in Columbia look like small potatoes. They are the grand pohbahs of justifying bad behavior with their religion.

Do we know at what point CC's family knew abdout the affair. Seems that they would if wedding invitations were involved, divorce discussed etc. I occurs to me when you mention the whole CRAZY issue that it certainly wouldn't be a hard casting a stripper in that light. Possible that CC was planing his crime even before the mistress? That he chose this particular mistress... Military turned stripper screams psych issues. Military background combined with psych issues is never a good thing.

MM honorably discharged?

  • #380
I don't know the answers to your questions...but they are good ones! I think the spiritual issue is huge here since CC was working for a Bible based ministry and even his employment was subject to those beliefs. Definately psych issues, as you stated! I think the reason for the murder had a lot to do with trying to find a way to keep his job and his outwardly "appearance" than people may realize. A divorce would have been harder to "explain" to his church, his father's church, and his employer's ministry.

I am a "Jesus freak" in the truer sense of the term. However, if I desired to turn away from God, I would just get another job and get a divorce or whatever, and start the new lifestyle! There is no way I could fathom living with one foot in each world.

And I also wonder about the friend...was she a Christian who started a new life as a stripper? I don't remember if Miss Motive was in the military or not...I thought it was just CC and SC that were?

Okay, I'll have to catch up in the AM. My peeps are droopin'. LOL! I enjoyed the chat, Daisy :blowkiss:

This case sure has a lot of twists and turns!
