I just don't see how the defense will be able to get around time of death. They need to be working on a plea deal, IMO. I only want a plea deal so Sheri's family won't have to endure this publically.

Next court date 8-26-09. There is a possibility that Margulis won't be able to continue as his attorney if they seek the death penalty. I wonder what a lawyer has to do to become 'death penalty qualified' in Illinois?

It's hard to believe that someone that worked security wouldn't know that they would search his computer.

I agree. WTH was he thinking?

No kidding. It is astounding to me. I heard he made 100K and this is what JM paid for? I am not a fan of JM's practices, but, I seriously hope she is taking a good hard look at all her security.

So - according to Fox2 - CC's dad wad in the ambulance with CC and asked how he got the cut on his arm????? His dad was already there? How long does it take to drive from Chester to Columbia?

The article I read said that he was asked about the abrasion while in the ambulance, he said he didn't know where it came from and began punching the gurney.

He later told his father that the abrasion was from punching the gurney.

If his family was in court they may have caught him in a lie, if they were able to put it together. He told the Chaplain he didn't know where the abrasion came from. Then begin hitting a gurney. Telling his Father when asked, that he may have gotten it from hitting the gurney. I was kind of disappointed in the evidence released. I hope they have more than that. Regardless of what they do or don't have, Time of death is a huge obstacle for the defense to overcome.

Really? I'm in no way trying to be sarcastic here but please tell me what would have been "better" evidence in your opinion?

Maybe I'm clueless but I think what's been released so far (and usually they don't lay it all out up front) seems pretty good to me.

My plea deal to him would be as follows:

Admit to everything, and you get a slow, somewhat painful death.
Admit nothing, and you get a long, excruciatingly painful death!

I love how incredibly stupid CC is! They say love is blind. So is lust! Just when my heart wants to sing at such stupidity I suddenly remember that 3 lovelies are dead at the hands of stupid. The Bible says our sin will find us out and it sure the heck has here for CC.

I was in no way implying it wasn't good evidence. But there really wasn't very much new evidence that was released. That is all I meant.

The prosecution only has to lay out enough evidence in this type of hearing to convince a judge that the suspect/prisoner should be bound over for trial.

I am quite certain that the prosecution has MUCH more evidence than what was presented today at this hearing.

Have faith.

I know. I was just being nosey. I'm pretty sure they won't need much more that time of death and the video of CC leaving his home to convince a jury.

I think they have much more (evidence.) They only needed to present enough today to convince the judge to hold him over for trial. They would not want to give all to the defense any sooner than the rules of discovery require them to.

I know it was just a preliminary hearing. I know that they won't divulge all the evidence. I take back my disappointment. I was only being nosey and wishful in my thinking.

I hope and pray that Ms. TL is reeling with heartbreak, humiliation and with being horrified at what she's part of. Whether or not she had a hand in the actual crime or planning thereof, she was consorting with another woman's husband, and I loathe her for that! I hope she gags, has spasms and burns with shame for getting involved with such swine as CC!

I agree. WTH was he thinking?

Hmmm - I think he was thinking that he would have time to get away. It will be interesting to see what the boarding passes, credit card and (most likely) hidden assets reveal.

For TL to say that she was in St Louis looking for a job and a house makes it sound like CC was going to divorce his wife, not kill her. That's a part a good alibi - and possibly as rehearsed one.

I tend to think that the murder was premeditated - but premature. SC confronted CC and told him she was going to call JMM first thing in the am. Maybe he was trying/blackmailing SC into being the one to file (to protect his job) and she told him "no way". . . .

Even then, I think CC never figured on the amazing detective work of the MCS!!!!!! They didn't give him a minute alone, let alone time to make his getaway. I think that if CC may have watched Dexter, he probably also read about that other 🤬🤬🤬 Marine, Cesar Laurean, and how he fled to mexico to escape. With the right amount of $$, CC and TL probably figured they could disappear into Central America and live high on the hog in someplace like Costa Rica (where many Evangelicals & Pentecostals are building their personal hide-aways with "Mission" funds.)
