Toombs says child was not discovered in the home of Hailey's mother Billie Dunn. He says computers and electronics taken from relatives of Billie's boyfriend Shawn Adkins were sent off for testing and still have not yet been returned

I dont know if anyone was relieved when they read this or not, I was. No Child found in Haileys home.

At one point in the investigation, Dunn and Adkins were named persons of interest. Adkins was also named a suspect.

Hailey Dunn vanished from her Colorado City home in December 2010. Earlier this month, the FBI classified her disappearance as a kidnapping

More than stepping away from just Billie, Soul. This reporter makes it sound like they are backing away from Adkins.

I feel as if I have just had the wind knocked out of me. I was obsessed with this case from Day One, until I had to stop for my own sanity. To think that it is 10 months later and nothing has been done is beyond pathetic.

This is why I can't get my hopes up about the whole GJ thing in Lisa Irwin's case... Or even an arrest/charge (think Caylee).

I don't want to start rumors, but it's been all over facebook for the last few weeks that Shawn and Billie broke up and he's back in the area near his mom or grandmother.
I've backed off of Hailey's facebook groups lately, so of course with the way things change so quickly in this case, they could be back together by now.

I'd say it depends on who dumped who, and how nasty the breakup was. If Shawn dumped Billie, I think she might turn on him. Especially if she can work out some kind of plea deal.

Remember, that in spite of the shifty nature of everyone involved in the case, there is no evidence at all that anything nefarious happened at the house, or that either SA or BD did anything. HD is just gone. Based on the multiple sightings of her that day and SA's cell call ping timing, the most likely truth is that she left just as he said she did. The window between when he arrived back in CC and when the brother arrived home is just too small for him to have done anything and completely removed all traces of it. If the DA was dumb enough to go to trial with what we know today, that is what the defence attorney would present and the DA would not be able to refute it.

It has allready been established that there wasn't any illegal at their house. The only potentially illegal stuff was found on someone else's computer in another town. It would be a massive stretch to tie either SA or BD to any of that, basically it is wishfull thinking and that is no way to conduct an investigation.

I'm sorry, I wasn't really clear on what I meant! What I meant to say is a purely hypothetical situation. If Billie and Shawn had a bad breakup, perhaps she would be vindictive enough to turn him in, producing evidence, or saying where Hailey's body was hidden. A lot of people get very revengeful after a bad breakup. They do lots of crazy things, hoping to ruin their exes life. I was merely speculating that if they parted ways unamicably, I think Billie might try to hurt Shawn further by turning him in. But who knows? Maybe he would do the same to her.

I suppose I'm just wishful thinking that the case might be cracked open before the one year anniversary....but at this point it doesn't look likely at all.

This case should have been solved not long after this beautiful girl "disappeared".
