Many wonderful, caring and generous people have been inquiring about Jodi's upcoming birthday on July 9th and asking what they can do for her, so I asked her directly for her preference and her is what she wrote to me:
"Any of the following mean a lot to me:
-a donation, however large or small, to one's local domestic violence shelter or other legitimate, registered nonprofit organization which aids other survivors of domestic violence.
-a donation to any no-kill animal shelter
-purchase a "Survivor" tee shirt at www.************************...100%OF THE NET PROCEEDS GOES TO SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS (so far a lot of $ have gone to this cause through t-shirt sales!)
-purchase a limited edition glicee print of "Cats Eye" at ************** There are only 100 of them. A portion of the proceeds goes to support an animal shelter that does
NOT because of overcrowding or because the were not adopted. So
far we have help many dogs and cats get spayed or neutered!)
-If you prefer to make a donation at ************************, my Mom is still without employment due to the trial. Also, any additional funds I am going to begin saving for my appellate attorneys.
THANK YOU all for the outpouring of love and support for my family and me. God Bless

On another note. I talked to Jodi today and she can have only 3 books at a time. So please don't everyone send her books. She can receive magazines but she wasn't sure what ones she would like. She said something quirky
We are working to get a donation site set up for her appeals

Quirky mags, huh? Gee, wonder what she likes in the quirky department? I'm sure many of her followers will oblige her. :floorlaugh:

Did anyone here follow the Zahra Baker case? I've been reading up on it this morning and I still have a TON to read, but I'm just heartbroken and appalled so far.

Good evening WS friends. I've been on sabbatical dealing with a personal health issue, and have missed you terribly.

Rosemary - how is Kyle doing?

Hopeful - how's the quit smoking going?

Sleuth - How's our favourite dog doing? Jammin' as usual I hope ;).

Katiecoolady - hope you're enjoying some down time from the theatrics which will continue once again on Thursday.

Linda x 2 (NJ and NY), Tenacious, Jane (dood and Jetson), I've missed you all. Tulessa, Tex, OBE, Panthers (Pink and black). And anyone else I've forgetten (but not really).

Love ya guys. Hope all is well with everyone.

I never in my life thought I would hear the word tumor spoken to me by a doctor, but there it is. Hanging out there like an evil thought better left unsaid. I've done a lot of soul searching over the past week, but realized I really miss my online friends.

Tuba - I love your posts, and realize they are not a statement of what "will" be, but a statement of what the planets tell you is in the "wind" so to speak. I hope you're right and Juan wins another round for justice on Thursday. I'm looking forward to sharing it with my WS buddies.

Princess

Sending you strength and healing thoughts. Your in my Prayers.

I did. It was horrific.

I followed the case--it was heart wrenching and horrible what was done to that sweet child.
I feel that the stepmother got off too lightly in this case.

Thanks for the link but i did LMAO. Sitting in that stifling hot cell with little to none as far as human contact. Nothing but time on her hands. Trying to redeem herself:facepalm: Have your little groupies Jodi. With their mindsets I'm glad their focused on you and not some innocent.

Am I right that the update thing is tomorrow? Or am I living on planet cuckoo

Completely OT...but guess where me and DH just ate dinner?

The Purple Plum in Yreka.

don't know how to post pics.

Don't know if anyone cares.

Can't remember the stories or details of the place (regarding the case itself).

Just drove from Redding to Yreka (to attend a wedding)

anyway, I have some pics of the restaurant for later if anyone wants to see them.

probably just bumming everyone out tonight, but I have the pics, just in case.

Food and service was a 2. IMO!!!!!!!!!

Also O/T, our route to VA is I 40 thru TN. Passed a sign for Dyersburg and Parsons. Just remembering Holly Bobo and Karen Swift. We're also going by Blacksburg VA, where Morgan Harrington went to VT.

The two, Marilou and Tara, said almost inaudibly that Diane would be with them tomorrow. These women are alienated from the verdict pronounced by their foreman, disappointed and troubled still by it. Don't you think that what may have been the atmosphere in the jury room was distilled by Zervakos? Once elected, he may have made it clear that dispute and argument were off bounds. That each & every juror was to be respected and his or her opinions not to be assailed. I suspect (strongly) that he used the force of his personality to convey those were to be the rules. All of that is polite and civil but it also suppresses the opportunity for achieving consensus fully explored. It is not dynamic, it is static. No thoughts, no opinions, no assessments, no analysis, change, not one fleck. What happened to true deliberation where jurors consult with one another and weigh alternatives? NO! You may express your opinion but to defend it goes too far as does any objective criticism, however kindly stated, of another juror's opinion. Such limits & "discipline" imposed by the foreman explain the closed and set expressions of the jury as they exited each day. Thinking about what went on in the jury room, I've learned something I won't forget. If you put a cloak of order and civility on a process and do it in a very meaning way, you go a long way toward controlling the outcome. It is not a pleasant prospect to contemplate. The impression and the lesson are indelible.

That is a breathtakingly, beautiful drive. :)
