Sidebar audios make me dislike that judge more that ever - she did a terrible job, learned nothing as the trial went on and got no result in the penalty phase, which was the only meaningful part of the trial as the defendant admitted to the horrible killing.

Bad loss by Juan Martinez due to just awful judge. He should have been barking at her, too.

Plus too fluffy of a hairdo.

Good morning everyone. Beautiful here in NYS.
My 83 year old friend sent me another email (bless her) and thought I'd post it here:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things Humans Should Learn
Human beings don't come with an owner's manual, but they should.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wrinkles don't hurt.

Laughing is good exercise - it's like jogging on the inside.

No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is won't make you cry.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

Don't cry because it is over; smile because it happened.

There's always going to be people that hurt you, so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.

When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.

If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.

Never ask your 3 year old brother to hold a tomato.

You can't trust dogs to watch your food.

Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.

Never hold a Dust Buster and a cat at the same time.

You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.

Don't wear polka dot underwear under white shorts.

The best place to be when you're sad is Grandma's lap.

No matter how much I care, some people are just a$$ho**s.

It takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

You shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.

We are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.

The people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.

Never, under ANY circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved (and never will achieve) its full potential, that word would be "meetings".

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".

People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

You should not confuse your career / job with your life.

No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously.

When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

Never lick a steak knife.

Take out the fortune before you eat the cookie.

The most powerful force in the universe is gossip.

You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

The main accomplishment of almost all organized protests is to annoy people who are not in them.

A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.

Your family and true friends love you, no matter what.

I just ordered Dr. Hare's "Without Conscience" & can't wait to read it! I just finished reading "Columbine" by Dave Cullen, where towards the 2nd half of the book he delves into the psychopathy of Harris (he describes Klebold as more of the "manic depressive" type). In Dave Cullen's book he quotes numerous times from Dr. Hare's book "Without Conscience", as well as Hervey Cleckley's "The Mask of Sanity" (which I ordered as well).

I think most of us cannot even attempt to understand the reasonings to any murderous behavior so we want to understand the reasoning... Fortunately their reasoning is something we cannot & will never understand... B/c it (IMO) is not reasoning, it is utter insanity.

I'll let u know what I think of both "Without Conscience" & "The Mask of Sanity" once I finish them. It's all a very frightening yet fascinating subject.

Keep us posted on your thoughts after u finish Dr. Hare's book. :)

Never heard of The Mask Of Sanity, but I'll look into that book for further reading.
Murderous behavior is certainly a conundrum to me, also. By reading, we can learn more about why these people are so different from the norm. There are so many different disorders that can afflict a person, it is frightening. :scared:
"Insane" is such a complex word and I'm very interested in the concept of the "bad seed" and how it applies to some people. :seeya:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- FOX 25 has learned exclusively that investigators are looking into Aaron Hernandez as a possible suspect in a double murder that happened on July 16, 2012 in downtown Boston.

According to the Boston Police blog from that date, officers responded to the intersection of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street just after 2 a.m. When they arrived, they found three people had been shot, two fatally, as they sat in a car at a traffic light.

The men were identified as Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu. The FOX 25 source said the men, who worked at a cleaning company in Dorchester, had just left a bar in the area.

Furtado and Abreu were sitting in the front seat of the vehicle when witnesses said the occupants of a gray or silver SUV with Rhode Island plates opened fire on it. The surviving victim was in the back seat. Investigators believed two others in the car fled the scene.

The source said that investigators were looking into Aaron Hernandez's connection to the killing.

This is a discussion between Richard Kuklinski and Dr. Park Dietz. At one point Kuklinsky gets upset because the Dr. is deliberately baiting him, and he is so disconnected from interactions with other people, he doesn't understand why he is getting upset. At the end. Dr. Dietz explains how nature and nurture probably combined to make Richard what he is today.

Thanks so much for the poster who requested the flash mob of "Putting on the Ritz," and also a huge thanks to the poster who provided the link. Just the other day I was thinking of how Irving Berlin gave the world quite a few memorial songs that have stood the test of time.

I know that many are at a loss to explain how JA "fooled" TA so easily. I'm blessed to have a best friend who is a Mormon. She and her family have impressed hubby and I more than any other friends we have.

For one thing, we have noticed that ALL Mormons --especially the ones associated with them--are so very kind and trusting. To a fault at times. Because they are taught to look for the good in everyone! I lived across the street form my friend for a few years. She would often offer items for sale on Craigslist. Sometimes, whoever would show up to answer her ad, would frighten her. She'd quickly call or text me and ask me to casually walk in--while the person was there. They never locked their door. It was an "open door" policy with them as well as it was with Travis.

Just from having this wonderful friend and realizing how she could sometimes put herself inadvertently/Naively in harm's way, it doesn't surprise me that Travis and his friends would take a while to see the true face of CMJA.

My heart goes out to Travis' family and friends. JA took advantage of Travis's kindness. It cost him his life. She should have to pay with hers.

a hundred THANK YOU's to PrincessSezMe for putting in the hours transcribing the side bars for us!

Good grief. Is the guy a serial killer? I figured the murder he is charged with was personal.

http://wildabouttrial.com/arias-attorneys-seek-to-vacate-death-eligibility/

PHOENIX (AP) – Jodi Arias’ attorneys have asked a judge to vacate the jury’s decision in her murder trial that the 2008 killing of her boyfriend was “especially cruel,” a finding that allowed the panel to consider the death penalty.
Defense attorneys argue in their motion that the definition of “especially cruel” is too vague for jurors with no legal experience to determine what makes one killing more cruel or heinous than another

Oh cry me a river. They sure are tying to get life "with" parole for the convicted murderer.

I wish JSS would file a response saying "Blah, blah, blah blah, blah, blah - Motion DENIED".

Columbine was awesome. Harris was a clear socio/psychopath....somewhat enabling parents. No Easy Answers, written by a boy who was friends with Klebold, is very insightful too.

Just finished To Kill a Mockingbird, which I managed to avoid reading in HS. I understand now why it's a classic. Good read.

According to CM and her twitter, she just finished reading "To Kill a Mockingbird". A good read according to her. One which she did not read in school.

Tulessa. We must of been reading her tweet at the same time.

I think she also managed to avoid the bible where it says "thou shall not kill"
SHe must have been spending all her time reading the back of a KY bottle.

Hello fellow WSers!!! I'm BACK!! My murder case finished with our verdict today. We found him guilty of first degree murder with a special circumstance of lying in wait and aggravated assault. I ended up being selected as foreperson. I have some amazing observations from viewing how trials happen from a jury perspective. I would love to share but frankly right now I'm emotionally exhausted from the experience. It was so draining mainly because the images shown to us were horrific and the circumstances almost mirror that of the Arias case.

Anyway when I feel not quite so overwhelmed I will pop in and share my experience. But for right now I just wanted to say hi to everyone!! And I need to catch up on what happened in the Arias case!! I have not watched anything at all since I've been on my murder case!!

Anyway catch you all later!!!
